yes exactly !! That is my reason for kDrama being my guilty pleasure (something which Inused to despise in my younger days). But maybe recently I have had a little change of heart and am currently prefering slice of life kind of drama (the last one was summer strike and I loved it !!)
maybe it's a seasonal change...who knows

Well it's okay if you find it entertaining. You are more then welcome to enjoy it, I just presented my opinion. I just find it too cliched and think as a industry it kind of makes it stagnant as a whole.
But at the same time I do agree that the execution of this series has been better then many with similer trope

Hmm.. I have my guilty pleasure from time to time, but maybe not this perticular trope

Perhaps this will be my first comment where I am going to be Brutal about a series. Not because there is anything wrong with the series, but because I am fed up with Korean makers just going for the same cliched story and people loving the same !!! The series is nothing but the thousandth time the same story is being shown just the names are changed. I will tell you the basic plot and anyone who is reading, just drop the name of kDrama which has the same plot. ' A feeble shy but hard working lower middle class girl has a 'incident' with a chaebol which is embarassing for both in some way and destiny will somehow make them either live or work together in close proximity where the rich guy who always was mean and super talented actually shows his soft side and keeps saving the girl (who is always damsel in distress) until they both realise they have started developing feeling for each other (which they will first deny for 2 episodes and then try to hide in the other 2) and ultimately ending up together in the end !! ' Now just make a few minor change and see how many series basically have the same story.

For me it was what 'Hometown cha cha cha ' was supposed to be. Loved it

For me it was the second lead (esp Sara) which kept me tied to the show.

Well there are lots of beautiful actress in korean, but she is enchanting tbh. Explains why I am the way I am 🤣
let's see how the series ends, the same as the webtoon or with a slight twist 🪢!

hahaha... I hate to admit it but I don't want her to be taken down (atleast not yet). For some reason I am too fond of her🙈 (which is very unlike my usual logical personality)

But it's weird that even tho after knowing that she is pure evil, we are still rooting for her ... which is not easy to pull (for both the actor and story)

exactly !!! it's like the mix of harley quinn and Ms. Moon (the glory) 🤩.
plus the FL is anyways a awesome character...just look at the ending scene of the third episode...the way she laughs gave me goosebumps

I started it for the FL, and now fell in love with the 'Beautiful Joker' character

7.5 ??? SEVEN POINT FIVE??!!!! Fking hell with this world.. can't appreciate the beauty of a well made sad story.
P.S.- It's in League with Blue valentine and marriage story.. so beware

I have been waiting to watch this since it came out. Koreans know for sure how to make a heart wrenching yet warm story. Just finished it, and perhaps it's one of the best dramas out there. No other story has delved deeper into the relationship between a parent and a child across generations. There was a romance as well, but not the lovely dovey kind which is present in most dramas, it was just pure dedicated love, simple yet profound and that acted as the base/foundation which held the main couple thro all the thick and thin.
Damn, perhaps the only rimetI am saying this regarding a korean series... that I wouldn't have mind a 20 episode series !!!

Ramen with too much water

This series was what I thought 'My beloved summer' would be. Slow paced but full of deep and introspection things. Definately more suitable for mature audience, but can be enjoyed by everyone. The ending felt slightly weaker since the beginning was so damn good, but still overall it was a good series!!
