This was one of the few shows where I really enjoyed the side couples too, i actually wish we got more of them 😭

They lost me for a few episodes in the middle but the ending was really good. I did have some issues with the main leads (mainly how they were portrayed as without flaws/better than everyone else all the time) but their relationship is one of my favorites of all time in cdramas, i really loved how there were no misunderstandings and they just loved and supported each other the whole time. Overall a really good show, I was really impressed by the whole cast

i do wish they could've gotten an actor fluent in chinese, or at least a voice actor to dub his scenes because the Ming envoy's chinese is so terrible i cringe everytime he opens his mouth

i am enjoying this so far but i am a bit worried they're going to rush the ending. Only four episodes left and they still need to get together, find out the truth about his mother, unveil the treason by the concubine and the prince, and get back to the future lol i hope they handle this well cause so far it's a joy to watch, i love the cooking and the reactions, though it makes me very hungry every episode hahaha

i didn't love the fake death plot unfortunately. i was ready to give it a higher rating but those last two episodes brought it back down a little for me. Still a solid 8/10 show, the romance between the two of them is amazing and jin'an will definitely join my long list of favorite male characters in cdramas. So impressed with the whole cast, especially Cheng Lei

i love LOTFG but i still think Cheng Lei is better here. He shines way more

Cheng Lei is incredible in this. I know most people prefer Legend of the Female General but I think he shines way more here. I’m so impressed with him

currently at ep.27 but i'm so disappointed at the direction of the crown prince... i was hoping he would accept li shuang not loving him (he also seemed to get along with jin an for a while) but instead we get a SML who goes insane after being rejected and tries forcing a marriage for the 123456th time this year lol it's getting old

just caught up to episode 25 and it's insane how much i love this couple! i was so worried about the amnesia arc and sure it gave us some angst but it made their moments even more sweet
