Well, to be fair, this drama had the most organised marketing and attacking any counter opinions was a part of that. For me, like I said, it didn't live upto the standard of chinese queer content or bromances. I didn't get attacked but I surely saw a desperate attempt to defend abuse and everything about this drama like some people's life depended on it

Because she has excellent enunciation. You can watch my journey to you if you don't want that voice but this drama is actually darn good

Don't really rely on MDL ratings. You judge for yourself. If its not for you...its not! There's high rated kdramas of MDL that I didn't like at all.

I think you have described abuse romanticisation here. Iam sorry but i didn't think the narration was mature enough to be called dark because they have removed the dark parts...like how the person who is abused feels. How they suffer from trauma and ptsd after it, how it affects their view on relationship negatively. They tried to make comedy out of it. I actually remember watching a few dark romances surrounding stockhome syndrome (in the same genre). In those dramas/movies, the audience were shown a full range of emotions a victim of sa feels. I also remember that in the end, both guys end up together but we felt so uncomfortable about it. Everyone felt like something very wrong had happened. We wanted the victim to somehow escape. I am sorry i forgot the title of that movie, otherwise i would have cited in here. It was a random watch but traumatic enough to remember

I am sorry that you had to see someone saying that your point of consent is stupid and this drama is above that. Its really not! No drama is. I don't reply to reviews but I can see that reviews like yours are getting attacked even though you have been very generous with the rating. I personally think its one of the worst BLs I have seen the ones that were all about abuse. The reason I consider it to be worse than even the worst ones is because the acting and direction was solid in those. The abused person was shown as a miserable victim and the actor expressed that without outwardly saying it. The abuser was shown as evil beyond redemption and the editing was done amazingly to deliberately make you uncomfortable. They made sure that despite sexual chemistry, I never dare to ship the abused with the abuser and nobody did that. They were not trying to make think that it was cute. Here, they were trying to make me think that the couple was cute and dark romantic which made it cringe worthy and unwatchable for me. You don't deserve the hate for not liking a bad drama.
