This one really has me stumped. Normally, I'm an avid Cheng Yi fan, but between Journey of Legend and now this.... I'm beginning to wonder if his glory days are over. When I saw that this featured Cheng Yi and Li Yi Tong, I thought this was a duo made in heaven, I couldn't wait to watch it. The first two episodes had me wondering who the intended target audience was for this series. Li Yi Tong was mostly just voice acting through what (to me) looked like not very good CGI. Luckily, she transforms into human form by episode 3 but by then it's hard to ignore the terrible script and storyline. Will the show redeem itself past episode 5? It's not unheard of.... but it is unlikely. Those of you hoping for quality entertainment are better off watching Whispers of Fate.
I know I'm late but at least now we know why Situ Ling is so fixated on Ming Yi. Without realizing, through one small gesture, she saved him at a critical point in his life. So, in his mind, he wouldn't be alive if it weren't for her. Kinda sweet IMO (not trying to justify his behavior.... but he really is trying to help). I think the biggest issue might be that Ming Yi doesn't quite realize how smitten he is. The problem with his level of delulu is that he thinks she's obligated to reciprocate his feelings as a reward for him going to such extreme lengths to show his affection. It's funny because in other c-dramas, this method actually works most of the time. So I'm convinced he's being labelled as delulu mostly because she already has someone in her heart and SL is just destined to fail in romance when it comes to her specifically. What I really want to know is why he doesn't see Fu Yue as a woman/eligible candidate. Is she some kind of pet or aide like Er Shi Qi or Bu Xiu? Despite her protesting, she never opposes his wishes, which is odd to me. Normally a character like that would turn into a meddling female and just slip him some aphrodisiac or put him under a love spell or something and drag him kicking and screaming to the altar.
Episode 25 is my new favorite!!!! Seeing JBZ having a Sherlock moment was chefs kiss. And speaking of kiss, him taking charge never gets old.... Ming Yi, hold on to your knickers gurl... JBZ ain't letting you go that easy 🤭🤭🤭
Assassins that announce themselves by knocking politely are the scariest kind 🤣🤣🤣 Also, Chang Hua Sen looks so different in this series (but he's still a WHOLE SNACK tbh)....
I am really tired of all of the hate on Ming Yi. The show has been VERY clear on why she's hiding the truth, and…
I agree to some extent. While I don't hate Ming Yi, I find her to be a bit hypocritical at times. Then there's the pride issue, where she rejects help from all directions (except from JBZ) and then flops around needing to be saved because she couldn't do it on her own after all. Of course, her background plays a huge role in how she behaves, and I won't knock her for that. But tbh, everyone's background plays a huge role in how they behave. It doesn't make a character more likeable just because their actions can be justified by their background/childhood. Take Mu Qi Bai for example, his background shows that he wasn't always evil, he turned that way because he was weak and constantly overlooked, unable to protect what he needed to protect. Then there's Yan Xiao, who isn't innately evil, but teetering on the line between good and evil because he believes he owes a huge debt to someone who showed him kindness in a world that was very unkind to him. Every character has a backstory that somehow justifies their choices and actions, so saying that everyone is giving Ming Yi a hard time unjustly might not be exactly true. Since episode 1 she has made some questionable decisions, some a bit more extreme than others. While all her decisions can be justified if we dig deep enough, it doesn't change the fact that she's done quite a few things that are of poor taste.
Shamelessly admit that I’m still stuck at “Say my name” 🤭
Me too! Lol. I mean, how can things go downhill so fast after they finally shared such a special moment? The fact that Ming Yi chose to steal the Golden Millet Dream immediately afterwards really cheapens it further IMO
What gets me is that they hurl blood all over the floor, and minutes later someone comes in and it's like: a)…
They spit blood for almost anything in c-dramas. Get poisoned? Spit blood. Fall from a tree? Spit blood. Suffering from exhaustion? Spit blood. Get pushed too hard? Spit blood. Find out your spouse has been cheating? Spit blood.
Chang Hua Sen looks so different in this series (but he's still a WHOLE SNACK tbh)....
