Well, because he had already figured out her identity way back in the first few episodes. I mean, obviously she…
Yeah he definitely ain't green flag material. Lucky for him, he's good eye-candy. Though tbh, he's getting a bit too stabby stabby slicey slicey for my liking.....
He's delulu, it's true. But tbh, Ming Yi doesn't deserve the amount of effort he's putting in for her. Plus, I…
Both MY and SL have something to lose if their true identity is revealed. I just hate it when someone who's been lying this whole time acts disappointed or upset to find out someone else has lied to them as well. Plus, SL had to tell her real quick that he didn't technically lie, she just was never bothered to ask. Also, what's the point falling in love with a man whom you fear will kill you if he finds out your true identity? This is why I can't be mad at SL even if he's a delulu weakling (except when it comes to killing his brothers). He knew her true identity this whole time and tried to help and support her whenever he can. If you ask me, MY is delulu for catfishing a man and hoping for the best.
"one day she will fall for me" spoken like a true delulu boy
He's delulu, it's true. But tbh, Ming Yi doesn't deserve the amount of effort he's putting in for her. Plus, I think she's a bit of a hypocrite being upset with SL for not telling her about his true identity. She's been lying to JBZ about her real identity, but expects honesty from others?? If it wasn't for SL preserving a wisp of his soul essence, twenty-seven would be dead. SL tries hard and gets ZERO props, while JBZ does just a lil bit and gets full support. I'm not down with that.
That character Liu Chang is the epitome of "wanting what you cannot have." He has got to be the most conflicted, possessive, selfish, and most delusional character I've seen in any c-drama ever. In his own eyes, no one is more pitiful than him. I can't imagine a better match for Li You Zhen, they're both coo coo for cocoa puffs.
Honestly lot of Chinese dramas are like that where the first half will be super light and fun and then the second…
You're right about this. I've seen a ton of c-dramas start out really light-hearted, with tons of humor and playful scenes, but then get super serious midway through. This is tricky because sometimes it feels like they're catering to two different audiences. Love in the Clouds is lucky in that the viewers are already invested enough to follow through to the end, but I can't tell you how many shows I've watched that switched up halfway and didn't deliver because they took themselves way too seriously despite having a weak plot. When there's humor involved, viewers are more likely to forgive a weak plot, but take away the humor and playfulness and viewers will notice when the plot begins to suffer.
Mu Qi Bai died so easily, it was almost anti-climactic. I thought he would have unleashed some proper chaos and destruction, but no, he really was a failure in the end. I feel like, again, it's foreshadowing Situ Ling going down the same path. Also, the fact that we're at episode 22 and Ji Bo Zai still hasn't figured out that Ming Yi is poisoned has me thinking that we're in for a super sad ending. I know MY has her reasons for not telling JBZ the truth, but I can tell that she's gonna procrastinate until they're in a very sticky situation and JBZ will probably have to sacrifice himself to save her or something like that. Then there's my biggest grievance.... whatever happened to their playful romance? There was so much of it in the first few episodes, but now that they have mutual feelings it's like all the steamy encounters have left the building.
It's a miracle that Sun Liao managed to remain unscathed after divulging such a big secret. Mu Qi Bai must be getting soft. In other news, as I listened to MQB defend his radical, villainous transformation to the Emperor, saying "If I'd been a bit stronger, I wouldn't have always been defeated".... I felt like it was foreshadowing Situ Ling's eventual transformation into a dark, possibly murderous character—similar to MQB. Since SL is a schemer, it's clear he will eventually covet the netherbeast power and fall to temptation and corruption. Perhaps he'll be the one to kill MQB since he's so stabby now....
Guys am I the only one who finds Situ Ling annoying? He keeps on making delusional thoughts about him and Ming…
I find him to be rather pitiful. He really does try his best to help Ming Yi whenever he can, but the extent of his help is strictly bureaucratic. Still, it's hard to actually be annoyed with him cause he's so darn cute. Cute but weak af. I also feel like he has grand delusions when it comes to being together with Ming Yi but honestly, he knew her true identity the whole time and still pursued and protected her. Gotta give him a bit of credit for that.
