I'm really enjoying it BUT why are all the men lowkey dumb and useless 🧐 (some more than others: her father,…
Huh. I guess I don’t see it this way in this drama. Muyang is sometimes irresponsible and impulsive, but he’s not dumb or useless. His quick wit and ability to think fast on his feet has gotten them out of some pretty sticky situations. He blackmailed Feng Lin into giving them the apartment. He saved them during the inspection when they were being questioned about the condoms (lmao “they’re too small” 🤣) and later on when they raided their room in the middle of the night. He’s incredibly cunning and smart. I wouldn’t call him useless or dumb at all. Her brother is in a difficult spot because he can’t find a job. It seems like back in that day there was job scarcity and it is more about who you know and who your connections are rather than your abilities. He’s not that much different than Fei Ni, who has not been able to get into college after four years of trying. They live in tough times, resources are limited and there were major cultural shifts happening during that time.
The whole concept of "fake marriage" is nonsense in most dramas, because if you got legally married, you…
I could be wrong, but I have always been under the impression with period dramas that a marriage is considered legitimized if it’s been consummated, which theirs has not been (yet).
So is it your conclusion that he has not done anything else other than make her life fun? Because it does not…
So? Whether he’s “pretty committed” or not has NOTHING to do with her. She set her boundaries and HE agreed to them. His feelings are his own and she is NOT obligated to return them if he loves her more than she does him at the moment. It’s icky to suggest that she owes him her feelings just because he loves her and does stuff for her.
Did I say that my conclusion is that he hasn’t done ANYTHING outside of helping her have fun? No. You are putting words in my mouth and adding your own commentary to what I said. He has done a lot for her and I would not love their relationship as much as I do if he didn’t 🙄That being said, though, is that Muyang has the choice to tell her no and walk away at any time. He can choose to do his own thing anyway and let her be mad about it. She is not forcing him to do anything. He’s making his own choice to stay, his own choice to meet her needs, and if we are being honest, he seems pretty damn happy with his choice.
Just my two cents, but Fei Ni clearly communicated her intentions about the fake marriage to Muyang from the beginning. She clearly communicated that she wanted to avoid a physical relationship with him. Muyang agreed to all of it! He signed the papers. He knew what he was getting into right from the beginning. I don’t understand the hate Fei Ni is getting?? Muyang is also a grown ass man who made his own decision about the marriage. He could have said no. Also, despite them knowing each other since middle school, their relationship wasn’t always rainbows. He asked her for money when they were in school together. He can be impulsive and irresponsible. And despite his best, sweetest intentions he STOLE her money without telling her and spent it on something she did not ask for. Of course she does not fully trust him 😂Remember when Muyang kept it a secret that he recovered his memory so she wouldn’t leave him? Yah, he did that. That’s called manipulation. She’s got a lot of reasons to be guarded! Also, are y’all forgetting when she spent all that time taking care of him when he lost his memory? Yes, her agenda was to get into college, but remember how much of HER OWN money that she spent on him with no expectation of him paying her back?
I mean I love Muyang so so much, but I can’t just sit by while Fei Ni gets dragged through the mud. She hasn’t done a whole lot of wrong. She clearly communicated her expectations and her boundaries, and Muyang cheerfully chose to go along with it. If y’all are gonna blame Fei Ni, then I better hear you also blaming Muyang for agreeing to it 😂
We have a story about two imperfect people, each with their own shortcomings, trying to figure life out. Muyang is wonderful in that he DOES help Fei Ni relax a little and have fun and break some rules. And Fei Ni in turn is helping Muyang become more responsible and pragmatic. We all know that Fei Ni is gonna fall in love with Muyang (like how could you not??), but geeeezzzzz let her get there on her own.
The Father-in-law and Son-in-law bonding scene was so sweet (and I died laughing at the kind of threatening note…
This drama is incredible! I teared up a little with the Father-Son scene. Muyang telling him that Ni is the only woman he will ever love, and then Dad starting to cry and praising his daughter’s qualities and wishing he could have given her more I just 🥹❤️
