I still love this drama so much, sad we are already past half way, I could watch so many eps of this. I keep smiling…
I hope they kiss. But they might not :/ I saw the preview, but I can see her pulling away. She didn’t tell him out loud that she liked him, she thought it, so yeah 😬
A heartwarming drama. But the 2nd ML and FL is such a waste of resources. They are so out of place in this innocent…
I think I agree with what you’re saying outside of calling the second leads a waste of resources. I do find their relationship confusing and a bit convoluted, and I am hoping that I will catch more details of their romance when I rewatch the drama. Both of them got married for their own agendas, both of them knew it, and yet both of them are acting like the other person is hurting / betraying them. It’s so strange. So what if he married you because you looked like his ex? You married him for his status and to improve your career opportunities. I don’t really understand why Muyang’s sister keeps taking jabs at the doctor because of his reason for marrying. And yet the doctor is also hurt that she took off to join a math team. It’s so strange to me.
But what is even more odd in my mind is how the second leads are considered by a lot of others as the more mature relationship. I disagree. The second leads suck at communicating, they use sex to cover up their unresolved issues, they don’t work as a team and they are in this game of push and pull.
Whereas Muyang and Fei Ni communicate like adults, apologize, resolve conflict quickly and kindly, listen to each other, validate each other’s perspective, support each other in pursuing their goals and then they play and have fun together. Sure, they’re less experienced in the sexual realm of things and they’re a little naive, but the way they are going about building the physical intimacy is much more mature and respectful than using sex to cover up problems and avoid resolving the deeper issues.
If anything, I think the second lead’s romance is highlighting the strengths of the main couple.
i think they'll have their first kiss in ep 17, according to the teaser
I’m not sure if it will be or not tbh. She didn’t tell him out loud that she liked him - she thought it in her head. He leaned in for a kiss before the preview changed, so I am expecting her to deflect again tbh
when do the leads fall inlove? i plan to watch this but want to know when the romance starts
Ah, well it depends lol. The ML loves her basically since the beginning. Fei Ni takes a lot longer. As of the episodes that have already aired, she hasn’t fully reciprocated yet. They have a lot of screen time together, a LOT of incredibly SWEET moments. So it’s not like the romance is nonexistent, but its a sloooooowwwww burn for the FL.
What Fang Muyang most envies about Fei Ni is the overwhelming affection that exists among his family members (and…
I’m excited / terrified waiting for what’s going to happen the second half of the drama. When I watched the last few episodes I sometimes wondered how they’re gonna fill the time until the finale.
I could be wrong, but I have always been under the impression with period dramas that a marriage is considered…
I’m thinking back on the period dramas I’ve watched over the past year and consummating the marriage has always been a big deal and it’s gossiped about if the couple hasn’t consummated. Plus, the rules may have shifted from the historical dramas I’ve seen to this drama that takes place in 1975. I think that within the context of this specific drama, it needs to be consummated to be considered legitimate. Otherwise why would they launch an investigation and ambush the leads in the middle of the night to see if they were sleeping together or not? If only the legal stuff was needed to make a marriage legitimate, I don’t think Ms Xu would have cared if Fei Ni and Muyang were sharing a bed. 🤷🏼♀️
Agreee!! I was kinda frustrated with FMY on the latest episodes regarding the FN's money and the fake tv coupon..…
Would you like me to list the ways I think Fei Ni could grow? Lol. I don’t recall saying that she’s “always flawless”. Again, you’re putting words in my mouth and adding your own commentary.
I do agree with you that the relationship IS uneven. But my point is that Muyang went into it knowing that it was going to be. And he is continuing to be happy and okay with it being uneven.
