I dunno how far you got into it, but I remember struuuuuuggling for like the better part of the first third of the show. For me it picked up later on, and seeing that I rated this show at like an 8 I must have REALLY liked the last half or something lol.

Well that depends on what you mean by “getting together”… they get married before episode 10 (6, I think? Maybe 8). Their marriage is arranged, so they don’t like or trust each other in the beginning. The mutual trust grows steadily into mutual respect / understanding and then love. There isn’t really a concrete time they “get together” because technically they always are together. If you’re thinking “getting together” like consummating their marriage and having sex, well that doesn’t happen until around episode 30 - 32… although they try earlier but get interrupted 😂 So yeah. The love and affection for each other is there loooonng before they consummate their marriage though. Its truly a beautiful story. No break ups, no love triangles… lovely communication and maturity. TPoB is my favorite Asian show.

It’s amazing - one in my top 2 favorite romances of all time. For some reason I thought you were watching it already 😂

Yeah I’m not the biggest fan of rushed endings like that. While I wished for more time in the modern world, I didn’t have any trouble believing that the ending was happy. Considering they were in love in three other lifetimes and were Soul Bonded, it isn’t that much of a stretch to assume that they will have that soul connection in the modern world (4th lifetime) as well 😊

I also didn’t mind the amnesia plots as much in this one because of how well they were handled. The FL on some level recognized that the ML was not what she was told he was, and the plot moved right along. And later the ML was intrigued by the FL right away. It was lovely seeing them chase each other a little bit and not as much angst as I was expecting.

Oh my heart 💔 I can’t believe she died! Nooooooooooooo!!! Everything hurts 💔 (Episode 22). Also can we take a moment to appreciate the badass sisterhood, the fact that the ML has FRIENDS who are girls??? And they all look out for each other? And the ML is also grieving the loss of a girl friend? 😭 Dammit. Fuck fuck fuck. The ML and FL’s acting is CRUSHING me. 💔

I am not a fan of dragged out lies, miscommunication and keeping secrets *side eyes the synopsis*, so I’ll probably keep an eye on this one and see what others say about it before picking it up. Some footage I have seen of this one looks spicy 🔥

I am still enjoying this one very much despite my small issues with it. It’s super fun watching his range of acting. He’s a delight 😊

I spoiled myself about the ending and dropped the show after episode 32 I think 😂 When the leads got reunited and left that cave together. That’s the ending I’m sticking with since I don’t do sad endings 😂

From what I heard, her portrayal was pretty in line with the book. She was always considered petite and small compared to her male comrades. I found myself enjoying this a lot more after I just suspended my disbelief and went with it.

The romance is great for the most part. I would consider this a slow burn, though. The leads have quite a bit of screen time together overall and a lovely connection between them is built. I have some complaints about some parts of it. We don’t get a lot of skinship or kissing until much, much later in the show. And I think the writers dragged the keeping secrets out MUCH longer than they should have. Other than those things, they have really great chemistry and a WONDERFUL mature connection. My goodness, and the ML gives her some beautiful poetic confessions. ♥️

The SML gets super annoying and it comes to a head in the last few episodes when some serious 💩 happens due to possessiveness from the SML. Luckily it doesn’t last long at all. And if I remember correctly, the FL is pretty good about maintaining boundaries with the SML.

I heard it’s on HiTV. I had a heart attack when I realized I couldn’t watch it on Viki anymore because I was planning on watching it for the third time. I think I looked on HiTV last week and saw it there. If you guys know of other places as well let me know. it drives me nuts if I can’t access a show that I love anywhere 💔

It’s definitely preferable to me than keeping secrets, lying and not communicating in order to drag out drama 😂 TPoB is one of my favorite shows for this reason.

Yeah that was totally me with this show. It had a tight grip on me 😂

They reunite in the modern world in the last minute or two, and there seems to be a mutual recognition that they know who each other are. She recognizes him right away, and there’s a glint of recognition in the ML’s face that he recognized her too. He gave her his cute Sima Jiao smile and asked her if she knew who he was. I thought it was really sweet, but like many others wish we had a bit more episodes in the modern world.
