I'm really curious about the handkerchief though. Why did the old man's turned black only after his death even…
So... maybe it turns black when they metaphorically "die" as an angel? So even though Kang Woo is still alive, who he used to be symbolically dies. Therefore the handkerchief turns black.
I do wonder why Dan's superior doesn't recognize Kang Woo as an angel. After all, he pretty much told Dan that Kang Woo was meant to be with Yeon Seo during an early episode.
I'm really curious about the handkerchief though. Why did the old man's turned black only after his death even…
Indeed, another good question. Could it be that the handkerchief turns black the moment the "judging" angel finds out about the "betrayal"? Or, to be more accurate, when the angel chooses a human over "God".
So, in Kang-Woo's case (correct me if I don't recall correctly) the handkerchief turned black when he went to the church and announced he loved a human. And, in the case of the old man, his handkerchief turned black when he announced he loved his human as well.
I wonder if Ji Kang Woo wasn't turned into dust (like the old man in this latest episode) because his fiancee sacrificed herself for him. And, in so doing (like in Giselle), Kang Woo was spared by the angels.
Although being forced to live on without your loved one, unable to die might be a cruel punishment as well.
Did you enjoy the article? Yes, very much! Did you also read the previous article? If so, have you tagged any…
>Office Romance vs Boss/Employee Relationship Indeed, this was something that surprised me as well because, in my head, there were one and the same. But once I started to analyze them, I realized that they could exist on their own depending on the drama. And it's something I should've been aware since I tend to tag dramas, but I guess I never stopped to think about it prior to the writing of this article.
>Boss/Employee Relationship and Power Balance I don't always mind the Male Lead being the Female Lead's boss, but I find the opposite scenario refreshing precisely because it's rare. Plus I like watching women in powerful positions and wish there were more dramas using this scenario. "Big Issue", though, was great in the role-reversal and well worth a watch!
>Regarding Shopping King Louis, You are My Pet, Rooftop Prince I tried to watch the first one, but ended up putting it on hold. Might be that it felt too childish for my taste, especially since I tried to watch it right after "Hello Monster". YAMP I've heard about from one of the comments in this article, but haven't watched it yet. Would you recommend it? As to the third drama, that's in my PTWL and I've heard good things about it! Glad that the FL is a boss in that one!
>Regarding W I'm on the fence about this one. The comments/reviews suggests a lot of people didn't like it, so I'm hesitant to watch it based on that. Would you recommend it?
Very good analysis.. I learned a lot from it.. I had taken it for granted that the tag, was just a tag... however…
Thank you for reading! Indeed, tags can tells us quite a bit about how we regard a drama and can yield some interesting patters and trends when analyzed!
I really enjoyed your article, it really shows you worked hard on those research and it is a statistically fun…
Thank you for reading! Glad you enjoyed it and that it made you check out "Jugglers". Though it's a pretty standard drama plot-wise, it's one of the better ones at handling cohabitation, which certainly makes it stand out.
Part 3 will actually touch upon the Mean ML vs Nice ML. Let's just say that not many dramas have been tagged with the former, which was surprising. The article will also touch upon the "orphan" tag as well, so I've got you covered ;).
Oh, thank god I'm not the only one who likes Kang Woo ~ I wanted to watch The Nokdu Flower but the ratings here…
I frankly don't know why the ratings are so low. It's truly such an amazing show, fast paced and with flawed and balanced characters. Plus, the second main lead is as tragic and compelling as Kang Woo. So I think you will probably love him as well (he is also getting some hate haha, but I LOVE his character arc).
I'm enjoying it so far and it's a feast for the eyes as well. The art direction is top-notch and the OST is perfect, enhancing every scene rather than distracting us.
We may be in the minority when it comes to liking Kang Woo. What can I say? I have a soft spot for tragic figures and his backstory is particularly compelling. I can see why he's the way he is based on the betrayal and pain he suffered. Imagine your whole world coming to a stop? Of course, the way the director did the montage of his backstory was impeccable! So much information condensed to one well-directed and well-executed scene!
Except for The Nokdu Flower (because that one's a masterpiece), this show is the best currently airing drama for sure! Here's to hoping they'll keep the pacing till the end.
His character is one of the biggest reasons why I'm watching this show. I'm so curious how he will turn out and…
Me too. He's walking down the tragic hero path and one can't help but root for him and hope he doesn't stay. But his acting is also so on-point! When he got that flash of PTSD... it was AMAZING! I've only seen the actor once before in "Mirror of the Witch" and I wasn't impressed. He's grown a lot as an actor!
Such a great article, with an astounishing amount of research and dedication to make it clear and easily readable.…
Thank you for reading! I always try to spend as much time as possible in my articles, but this series (as well as my Popular Visual Cues in K-dramas) require quite a lot of free time to make, lol.
You're not alone regarding your last comment. The only year in which I've liked all the most popular dramas is 2017. 2015, I liked half of them at least. But I feel like dramas --especially romance ones-- are starting to all feel/read the same.

I also wish we got more Kang Center centric scenes. She feels relegated to a support character, which hurts considering I love her character.
