I am just a fan of the bl novel, and seeing people disregard that the source of all that happens in the drama is at the core a beautiful, respectful and charming relationship between two men is making me angry.
Who knows how much it bothers the ones that are feeling those posts are directly an insult to them, that they love don`t exist or are considered wrong on someone eyes.
You don't want to see the drama as romance between two guys, fine, but you really have to write about it every day.
Those people are too ignorant or their intentions are not as harmless as they seem. The majority of people who came here are maybe for the wuxia genre, fan of actors , fan of the novel, like me, who don't dislike the relationship between two men, and like to discuss about the romance and how they were even charmed by the relationship even if they never until now watched a drama like this before.
But, more importantly, they are people who this drama is one of the few representation of them coming from China.
Everyone can like what they like, but they should have awareness of what page is this, this is a danmei adaptation, is romance between two men.
They write things in a way that what they think is the absolute true, not matter what you say to them, and saying they see this only as a bromance, as they don't like to watch dramas that is more bl.
Lol, it's precisely because the novel is bl, that this drama was made as it is , Priest would be sad to read some of thee comments writed here, and is precisely because of the actors knowing the characters are in love with each other and acting according to this, that they are able to see such a touching " bromance", they are also disregarding the actors efforts.

This movie has a versatile couple, they switch, a very realistic portraying on how things are in a gay relationship, from the other people comments i read, and it makes sense. Even in the drama, the two sex scenes that it has, on the first one is Imagase who tops, and in the second one, Kyoichi takes the lead. In the manga they switch much more frequently .

Yes, and i can assure is not an open ending like in the official version of Untamed ( i appreciated that they added the actual ending in the special version too), this is a clearly as a day HE. And this drama is really worth watching, and is much more daring and bold than Untamed when it comes to the romantic relationship between the main leads.

Yes. I had the same toughts with you, before watching Word of honor, now i firmly believe Word of honor is the least censored romantic drama, believe me, this drama set the bar too high. And maybe season 2 of S.C.I Mystery will be more bold with romantic scenes than the first one, after all WOH was produced by YOUKU as well. Now, this drama is in the second place for me, when it comes to this matter. Hope the upcoming danmei adaptations will be as daring as those two dramas, i will hope for the best.

They are a lot of people who watch this drama because they loved the novel, and are enjoying very much everything that the screentwriter has chosen to adapt from the novel, and indeed Wu Xi and Qi Ye are important and charming characters in the novel, and main couple in another novel of Priest. As a fan of Priest, probably the screenwriter wanted to at least add as much as she can from the novel as long as she can make some connection between the events that happen.Not all people watch the drama for a good entertainment or wanting to watch a good bromance, the people who read the novel can interpret and see the drama in a different way that the ones who didn't read'it. Priest is a popular author, she has a lot of fans, the screenwriter could have risked getting a lot of criticism if she omitted and thus not adapting a lot of things that happen in the novel, not mention if she would have chosen to change the ending drastically. Fortunatelly, everything went well, i expect this drama to become even more popular in time.

Woa, based on Silent reading, my favorite novel writed by Priest too.
I didn`t realised that it`s produced by YOUKU too. It started filming already. Offffffff, hope they give this drama a higher buget and a scriptwriter who stick more closer to the novel. My expectations dropped a bit now.

I only know of myanimelist, but it don`t have the option to search donghua`s, as it has animation from different countries.
It has all the doghua`s released or soon to be released, by all the producers being Tencent or Anime Bilibili for exemple but you have to search using the producers tag.
Like for exemple i will send you a link of the page of Thousand autums donghua, and then the links of all the other donghuas made by Tencent and bilibili, after i clicked on the Producers.
Only this way it can make the searching of the donghuas more easily.
For exemple if you want to find all the donghuas made and released by Anime Bilibili, you have to initially search a donghua made by them on the site like Legend of Exorcism, and the click on the Producers.

It`s easy once you get used to this, as they are not many good producers of donghua`s, and those that are, are making the majority of the donghua`s, like Tencent and bilibili.

Woah, the rumored actors that was just mentioned recently are added on the cast section, i hope they are really confirmed, so as to not give false hope that this is the cast, get used to them, and then finding out they are not them. I didn't expected that the cast will be revealed this early, as someone said at some point that the audition for the cast will end at the end of April.

I think the first thing that they will change is the reason that made Hua Cheng look over Xie Lian and having romantic feelings for him for that long period of time, and i don`t mind that, as it`s better than removing this fact, as it`s important to the story. It`s better for the screenwriter to give another reason, than this thing not be mentioned at all.

We shouldn`t have high expectations for danmei adaptations to adapt everything that happens in the novel, because if they do that, the drama will not have green light to air as well.
The most important thing is for the production team is to retain the personality of the characters and the events that happens as faithful as possible, and by disguising the romantic feelings between the charaters as friendship is okay, as long as, hopefully they will be able to release a lot of actions that the characters make and expressions that can be spotted easily, and made us know what they are trying to imply by them doing that.

I think Word of honor did an amazing job until now, at presenting the relationship and the events as closer to the novel as it should, some scenes are exactly as in the novel, and i can spot very easily when what they said mean more than they are doing and saying, and make the connection with the scenes from the novel, it`s an exciting ride.

I`m a avid reader of chinese bl novels lol, that`s why i watch all danmei adaptations that are made, all i ask and expect is that the characters and events are managed to be shown as closer to the novel as they can, and make the ending similar to the novel, not exactly the same, but at least in the ending it should be shown they are still there, meeting each other and as close as before.

For the viewers of this kind of adaptations it should be enough for the scenes to be as similar as in the novels and the characters to act in a way for us to know what they are trying to express by that scene, why other meaning it may have, and after we spot the scene that is hinting something more happened than what it`s shown in the surface, we can easily make the connection with the novel or go again and read that moment in the novel. This is the fun to watch those kind of dramas.

And we have to keep in mind that dramas like this are made to be enjoyed for the people who are not fans of the novel too , and for them, they don`t even know or care that the relationship between the characters was changed from the novel.
As i said, those dramas are made so that it can be enjoyed by all kind of people, so the bl aspect shouldn`t be too much , this is the safest way that the crew can predict that the drama will be able to gain the attention and recognition it should.

I like the cast for Winner is King, i think they are closer enough to how the characters are in the novel, i predict this drama will have a completelly different feel and charm than Word of Honor, the novel is more serious and totally different than Word of Honor, the dynamic of the characters is unique too. I think if the relationship between the characters change a bit more than in the novel, for Chang Geng to be shown as admiring, respecting and be more of an equal footing with Gu Yun, it will make their story more enjoyable to watch.

Yes. It's confirmed and it was to be expected as the first season didn't adapt much of the novel. They could make more than 3 seasons in my opinion for how long the novel is, but maybe they will speed the events told.

I know of them, i`m visiting this page from time to time after i read the novel already, then i discovered the donghua and only after i saw that they will made a drama based on the novel.
I left a lot of comments on this page already, as to inform people of what it happens with that coundown and the rating and helping people where to read the novel, as the majority of people who see the page they think is the page of the donghua, and don`t realise that is a page made in advance for the live adaptation of the novel of the same name.
I a huge fan of Meng Xi Shi and her novels.
I also think the drama will not released earlier than maybe the end of 2022.
