I did write some minimal unimportant spoilers of what happens in the novel, so for the persons who didn`t watch at least the first eps of the drama or hadn`t read the novel and don`t want any spoilers, it would be better to not read this comment.



When it comes to novels you should always try to read for yourself at least one chapter to see if you like the author way of describing things, and if the characters are attractive enough to continue reading. Reading a chapter does not take much time, than just deciding to not read the novel based on one person opinion saying he wasn`t impressed, after all how the content is perceived depends of a lot of things, like if you usually like to think more deeply about why the characters do what they do, of why things have to happen this way and of the life experience a person have.
In my case, i love the novel, this novel and all the novels writed by Priest try to convey a message, are a bit psychological and could be enjoyed more by people who try to take everything what happens in context and starting to actually think, why this character is behaving like this, why one character has this impulsive and crazy behaviour , why the other is so closed off and don`t trust most people who are trying to approach him.
The novel make you actually think and connect all the clues droped at different points in the novel, for you to understand the actions of all the characters completely at the end of the novel. It allows the readers to explore in details all the emotions the characters are experiencing, that make them act the way they are and bring them close to each other, like loneliness, vulnerability, self love/worth, longing, fear.
Wen Kexing is as shameless and flirt like in the drama, but much more intense than in the drama as what comes out of his mounth is not censored, so he is much more bold. And i don`t know why the other commenter who replied your question say he thinks he perceives only lust from Wen Kexing side , this is not true, he do comes to love Zishu.
If he was not insistent and as shameless as he was in the first place , he wouldn`t have had any chance with Zishu. Zishu is more of a broken and tired character than Wen Kexing, he wasn`t flattered and didn`t want to feel anything for WKX because he knew he didn`t have any future with him, as he knew he would die shortly. Wen Kexing liked Zishu so much that he didn`t give`up on him, and he still follow him and stood by his side after he find out he will die, he was the one who pestered Zishu and he ever has to coax him so he will want to chose to live.
Zishu especially, but Wen Kexing too, are two persons that are really tired of living, disappointed on everything that happens in the world, and i believe they would have both died easily and without putting a good fight at this moment in life, if they haven`t meet each other.
Zishu would have waited peacefully for his life to end and Wen Kexing wouldn`t have hesitated to put his life on the line for what he wanted to do.
They both come to a point where they depend on each other, give motivation and hope to continue living, for one another.
In the end Priest's novels are some of the best-written Danmei I've ever read, that`s why she is so popular and has so many of her novels adapted and who will get adapted.

And the novel will be finished being translated very soon. A new translator was commisioned to translate the last 12 chapters, and in the last days the update of the chapters is about 1 chapter every one or two days, i think the translation will probably be finished in maximum two weeks. I just posted about this about three days ago.


I really love the novel and the drama, but i have to stop coming here, because it`s stressing me out. I wish people will try to start dicussions centered more about the drama and novel, real discussions, with more few and large posts that actually makes people happy and worth reading, and refrain from asking things that can be found by scrolling down or searching on the page.
If things continue like this, the valuable and beautiful comments will be lost in the sea of repetitive and frustrating comments, and it`s a pity.
I`m sorry the most for the people who will discover the drama later or after it finishes airing, and seeing that is hard to find a comment that make them feel something.

No, curently the one airing is the donghua with the same name.
The person who is managing this page is confusing this page of the live adaptation as being the one from the donghua. I noticed that until now many people think this is the page from the donghua, not the live adaptation, because of that countdown of the eps. Hope he will realise at some point and change that countdown and block the rating thing. The rights to made the novel Thousand Autums in a live adaptation was bought, but until now they only decided on the director, as you can check. So this is a page made in advance for this drama series like any other my dramalist page for danmei adaptations made recently, and surely it will take at least a year until the drama is actually made and released.

I wondered about this too, sometimes, especially after a finish watching a episode of the donghua, and watching how the characters are presented to us.
For Shen Qiao it will be more easily to cast someone, the most he would have to have a friendly and kind appearance and to able to pull off well the soft hearted part of Shen Qiao personality. Casting the right person for Yan Wushi character is a deal breaker, who is such a complex character, as the actor has to give the impression that he is unfriendly , mischevious and always willing to do bad things if irritated, but also be versatile enough to express the grey and good traits of his character, as Wu Shi is not innately bad, he is not a rutless killer as he knows when he should stop killing, and knows to cherish and protect the people he loves and appreciate. I think you can tell how much i love Yan Wushi as a character, he is my favorite character within all the other characters i read in the countless bl novels i read, i love how much self awareness he has and how realistic he is, about himself, others and the ways of the world.

-Zhu Yi Long- my perfect choice, i really think his appearance fit YWS, and he is a really versatile and careful to details actor, he would do an amazing job as YWS.
- Wang Hao Xuan- he has that villaneus, bad guy aura, but i feel he is not talented, and experienced enough at this point in time to do a good job as YWS
- Kris wu- he is good at acting , i loved him in L.O.R.D. I think just overall appearance remember me that of YWS, but he is not the best option, and the probability he will be cast as YWS is very low.
- Yang Yang, again too well known, i don`t if he will agree, but if
Zhang Zhe Han accepted to star in Word of honor, and Jing Bo Ran in A League of Nobleman , maybe things are changing and more popular actors will accept a role in bl adaptations.
- Song Wei Long, but i don`t know if he will accept another role in a adaptation like this.

Ultimately, the most important things in dramas like this are the chemistry between the actors, not matter how good everything else is, if we don`t feel the characters click, the drama will not gain the attention he should. The closeness and attraction between the characters are the reason Word of honor, Untamed, and Guardian was well received and the actors become much more loved.

Yes, Guardian too, and in Sha Po Lang too, but in almost all her novels, he really make us hard to guess when it comes to things like this, she is really an amazing author.

Wen Kexing was definitely lucky, and it may be hard for him to be the one to continue to do`it all the time, if he don`t give in too, based in Zishu reaction in the morning and Wen Kexing toughts as well. GOD, it was funny how he tought of himself as pitiful, when he tought he would probably have to tell some sob story and cry every time he would want to be intimate with Zishu.

Nods head, i have the same toughts about this movie, it`s beautiful how well you expressed you`re toughts.

I won`t mark this as a spoiler because it`s not really a spoiler.

He asked a simple question, if the ending of a novel has a happy ending, and what i said is well known information for longtime bl novels fans, as Priest is a really popular author.
And for those who ask because they`re reticent to read the novel because they fear the ending is bad or ask to be reassured that by knowing that the ending is happy ending in the novel, then the screenwriter will try to end the drama with both of them safe, of course expect the answer to be a happy ending, i`m not trying to purposely make`it less fun to read the novel for them, and to also assure the other people who come across my post that they don`t have to worry about stuff like this.

I`m the kind that tend to put most of my posts in a spoiler, even if the information revealed it can`t be considered really a spoiler, as what i write sometime is what the watchers can conclude on their own while their watching the drama, and by puting the majority of my posts in spoilers, a lot of people don`t check my post and ask the same thing a lot of times.

Yes, Wen Kexing and Zishu , they get their happy ending in the novel. All novels writed by Priest end with happy ending, and i`m always thankful for that.

At least they allow the filming of censored bromance adaptations based on bl novels that are really popular in China, like how fans of BG novels are enjoying getting to watch their favorite novels being made in live adaptations.
