That`s sad, why is with China trying to change the story in the dramas based on novels. I know they do this to all dramas not only to danmei adaptations. But i really don`t understand why they don`t try to keep the most important things from the novel, the risk for viewers to feel disconnected with what is happening is too high when things are changed to much, for exemple Legend of Fei. When the drama changes the essential events and personality of the characters are changed might as well not buy the rights of the novel and promote the drama as being adapted from a novel. The reason that novel has the success he had is because he was writed the way he was, with the characters and events connected as was described. The potential of a drama to become successfull by being adapted is having the premise that the script will be as similar as it can with what happens in the novel. That`s the reason Untamed gained attention and was succesful and why Word of honor has been well received, and Guardian didn`t become more succesful as he should (this was not the fault of the crew entirely, but if maybe the staff was more careful, the government wouldn`t have intervened. It`s funny to see how Japan try to bring to life their novels, manga in their dramas/movies, they make`it as faithful as possible, to the point some scenes are ridiculous, illogical, but almost identical to the source material, and China does the opposite.
For this drama, i still think they didn`t change the lead characters personality and how they meet and the dynamic between them, but mostly the cases and the drama will probably be more bromance-like and it will be more hard to spot the moment the relationship between them change. I`m telling you this after i read the chapters of the novel that was translated until now, read some reviews of what it happens in the novel and connected`it with what is presented in the trailer that was released. The two main actors are handsome has good chemistry too, and are charming as the characters they are portraying.

Yes, it will be a censored bromance or danmei adaptation drama like Untamed , Word of honor and upcoming adaptations that are going to be released this year. The bl novel that the drama is based is named The Mystery of Zhang Gong author Da Feng Gua Guo. The date of when it will be aired was not announced but the trailer was released, so it`s more likely it will be released this year, but you never know with chinese dramas.

From what i know the drama didn`t sold the rights for any other platform, being Viki or Wetv. I think they want all the viewers to see the drama on their own platform: they have their own website named v.youku.com where they release the eps unsubbed and the youku youtube channel where they release the eps subbed for the international fans. If they have their own website and provide their own subs, i don`t see why at the moment the drama airs they would need to have the drama airing on other platforms, it will be disadvantageous to them. I think is possible for youku to have the drama be released on viki or wetv but only after it finished being airing.

Yes, i took a look at the works he had done, it`s mostly movies, a lot of movies compared to the few dramas.. It`s possible if he really will helmet this drama, many things will change, possible the cast too. A series i didn`t know if i should recommend because, it fits what you asked, but not entirely, but it better to check the trailer, and see for yourself than not knowing about it.

What happened with the drama Guardian it was a big mess indeed, the government took the drama down from the site it was released, when it was airing, they redubbed some stuff and censored the last part a lot. It shouldn`t have ended like that, in the drama, both lead characters died, in the novel it was HE, you can guess how dissapointed the fans of the novel was, and the fans in general. The author Priest was so sad about what happened, she writed and released one extra chapter for the novel Guardian, to console the fans. I don`t remember exactly what the reason was at the time, but it`s an exemple of how much damage the government can make to a drama if they want, and given the reason. For the mess now, i will let other person to answer you, because i didn`t have the time to look deeply into it, so i don`t want to confuse you more.

That was a funny misunderstanding, it`s the first thing something like this happened to me. This author is very known and popularbetween chinese bl fans and it has a lot of upcomng damnei adaptations that will be released. I tought you avoid reading novels with explicit scenes, that`s why i was trying to be accurate, and nothing more, and when i saw your answer i tought you tought the opposite, that i would judge you for reading novels with explicit content. This can happen too, so funny.

Oh, i wasn`t angry, i loved MDZS, i read all kind of bl novels with all kind of degree of intimacy, this things don`t matter to me. I was trying to give the person who asked an answer that was as accurate as possible, i always try to do that. I actually wanted to inform the person about Priest and his preference of describing his sex scenes with as little details as possible, it`s a charm in a way, and he compensates with the personality of the characters and the ample plots. I`m huge Priest reader, and to almost all novels who have beeen lucky to be chosen to be adapted, and who has a page made here in mydramalist. I liked the novel from who the drama Immortality is based on, who is opposite to the novels of Priest, when it comes to the describing of the sex scenes. Anyway, i`m really looking forward to watch Immortality too, when it will air, hopefully in will be released until the end of April.

Of course i know that only a part of Untamed drama fans are XZ fans and only a part of XZ fans are taking part of this mess, maybe only very few fans of Untamed are supporting this mess and helping in getting this drama banned, this is something anyone can assume. I did said that not all fans, being Untamed fans or XZ fans, not all of them are involved in this. And i was just trying to share my toughts of how dissapointed i am that things don`t seems to get better, that i can`t watch a danmei adaptation without worrying that things like this can happen. Things were looking so well, of course i will be disappointed at anyone that will try to touch this drama, i was trying to complain about the fact that it`s unfortunate what is happening, it shouldn`t be acceptable. They are so many dramas made in recent years, especially a lot of bl dramas and movies, we have countless options to watch, why they try to ruin things, it`s not fair, especially for the actors and the crew. I wasn`t trying to put the blame in all the fans , but acts like this wll affect everyone, the fans of Untamed drama, of XZ, this drama and maybe all the other danmei adaptations that will follow after this, it`s inevitable, as long as China will listen and decide to review every danmei live adaptation, everytime some people will try to steer trouble. If people continue to do this, things will be worse than before the release of Untamed, all the oportunities this drama created, because it did, will come to nothing, and i can conclude it would have been better that Untamed would have received less attention and maybe he would have gained less toxic, crazy fans, But as an adult person, i`m aware every drama have unreasonable fans.
