I'll give my opinion here, you guys don't need to agree — but emotional scenes and character development episodes are not fillers.
There are a LOT of emotions in Ep 8 — we were able to peel more layers of Da-hae's character, her motivation and her emotional turmoils. We learned that Da-hae thinks that she can only obtain happiness by selling her misfortunes. We saw Gwi-ju being able to have a much healthier character development; he's not THAT obsessed now with saving someone with his powers, he sees how he can save someone using the present. His and Da-hae's relationship are moving in a more positive way. Dong-hee and Grace were heading from enemies to friends, and how they might inspire each other the best. Sure, I-na and Gwi-ju didn't have much scene, but we see that I-na approves of Da-hae.
The Bok family kept going back to sauna and it opens possibility of a joint family in the future (just dysfunctional). That scene with Da-hae evil mother provides groundwork on what could happen in the future aka hold them hostage / familiar love.
I think the plot hole of this drama is if Gwi Joo was the one who save Da Hae from the fire, how did she survive…
I think the drama prefers to be simple with their time travel rules.
Gwiju goes back to the past to "change" somethings related to Da-hae but he is not really changing things here, because Da-hae already had encounter with his future self.
So the one who saved Da-hae is future Gwi-ju, but Gwi-ju from the present has yet to arrived on that future (meaning has to go to past).

To put it simpler, Gwi-ju doesn't meet Da-hae yet, but Da-hae already encountered him. The things or events that Gwi-ju can do when he travels back to the past are only what already happened to Da-hae.

I really like this show, I can't concentrate on other dramas I'm currently watching because of this. I agree that you guys should watch this with quality earphones — it elevates the experience :D Will probably wait for both episodes next before I watch it, because waiting for one ep to drop then watch it immediately is making me crazy.

Yeah, I saw that scene but I think that hope wasn't crushed entirely as she wishes that he hopes it was him to save her. But even in the past, their encounter (i'm assuming it's also gwiju) must still have done something to her... :( Girl, thought she was unworthy to be found, to be saved. It's heartbreaking.

I'm not judging you nor saying that your comment was bad, I just also commented my observation about the comments about chemistry issues, and other shows where there are always chemistry issues which some were rooted in the FL.

I just said my opinion as well. I think what other people are saying is that it is too early for an actual romance...so if others are not finding chemistry yet..it's okay because they have time to do so because there's yet to be a genuine romance (see ending of ep 5). There are also viewers like me who find chemistry between two actors right away because I think they look good together.
