Why do the good dramas always have a low rating and the dumb dramas have a high rating... Koreans really do not…
Ratings for this drama in South Korea are actually very very high, given that the timeslot is very late (10:50pm) and airs on weekdays (wed and thurs). Among the other dramas that air during this timeslot, this has the highest ratings.
So far, for episode 10, the ratings are 3.659% (national) and 4.701% (seoul).
To those who didn't notice, from episode 6 onwards, Moon Chae Won has lose some weight as she identifies with the psychological suffering of Cha Ji Won. T.T
She portrayed the old scenes very aegyo-gy, but it is actually good acting because it shows the contrast between…
I agree, but I don't think her flashback scenes are 'very' cute. Her acting on flashback scenes on the previous ep was actually like awkwardly talking to your crush (which is just right -- because the guy is scary sometimes), a little cute when drunk but still with finesse (you know, the type of acting that is not not totally like the girl is heavily drunk).
ClassA-Substance is right, he just found out one of his team members has not only been hiding crucial info from…
Some of the cops actually think like him and I seriously hated it. These cops should be intelligent, logical and are not swayed by their prejudices. There is no harm with having a hunch, but being so sure about it instead of being flexible, is the real harm.
Cops today should be logical and factious. The only reason why I like Detective Choi because he's very funny in the drama, but in real life, no.
Question: Now I'm not a detective, nor do I play one on here, but how is everybody not going to jail at the end?…
We don't know yet if nobody is not going to jail.
I'm sure if Do Hae Su ended up alive, she may end up in jail, ALTHOUGH, in her defense, she killed the foreman out of self-defense, since she said that he attacked her first. I still don't know how this goes in South Korea, so there's a chance, she will.
In my own opinion, I think Ji Won may not go to jail if it's proven that her husband is not the killer, hence, she's not hiding a fugitive. Her license may be taken away from her but she will not go to jail.
Do Hyun Soo may not face charges on beating up the reporter, if Kim Moo Jin will not report him. We see that Moo Jin is taking Hyun Soo's side now, so, I doubt that he will press charges about him. Plus, he also kind of understands his intentions now and he really likes Hyun Soo's sister -- so, no, Hyun Soo will not go to jail because of this.
Ah! The whole manipulation of identity thing -- if Hyun Soo will go to jail because of this, the whole baek family aside from their son (if he's really innocent), will be the first one to be jailed, as they are the one who suggested this identity thing. Plus, Í've seen that Do Hyun Soo is issued a new ID which says he's Hee Sung now so...technically as of now, he's really Baek Hee Seung, in my own opinion only. I still don't know how the law works, so I'll apologize in advance, if I am wrong.
In addition, Hyun Soo may still not went away with that identity (theft??) so he may still spend some time in jail because of this. Or maybe not. We don't know yet.
And lastly, no one is not bad here, whether it's outside of the drama or real life. Evil is the absence of good. As no one is perfect, everyone are able to do bad things in life, whether they are little or big.
Hyun Soo, for his whole childhood, he was understood and bullied. His illness has come with this big sign that he's up to no good. Instead of people showing him kindness and his child counselor treating him -- he was maltreated -- experienced forced exorcism, tied up into the tree, and thrown every verbal insults towards him. He was outcasted! If someone still thinks up to episode 10 that Hyun Soo is nothing but only a bad person, they should reflect. Until now, people are giving a blind eye about mental illness, instead of actually helping them, they will push away those that needed their help.
If anything whose really really bad here as of episode 10 (aside from the trafficking agency), in my own opinion, it was Baek Man Woo. Ji Won and Hyun Soo aren't the ones who should be getting divorce, but rather Gong Mi Ja and Baek Man Woo. Baek Man Woo is the one who has manipulated his wife, putting her into her worse everytime. Saying that she's only depressed and should take her medications everytime she tried to speak up! He made her 18 years of life a living hell. He guilt trip her. He condemned her and put so many lies that she ended up being that anxious and depressed. He made her feel pathetic, useless and extremely evil person that cannot get redemption.
Comparing Baek Man Woo and Do Hyun Soo -- whose the one who really manipulated their wives here? Is it Hyun Soo, who, at his best, tried to give his wife a good marriage, worked hard for it, tried to become the good father he never once had, and tried to learn expressions just to become a normal person because he isn't, but still took someone's identity? Or is it Baek Man Woo who encourages someone to kill, has never been there for his son all throughout the important moments of his son's life, worse, gave his son's identity to someone because of his selfish desires, and not only physically but also emotionally tortured his wife?
totally deserved the 0.1 increase in rating here! hands down! One of the reasons I watched this drama is because of the writer, her writings are not exaggerated, twists are not too much but just right and always hit the message she's trying to convey! Plus, every confrontation and lines from the characters just go straight to my heart! Congrats to the writer-nim, too!
Episode 10 and the preview for episode 11 made my hands feel cold, I was anxious for a moment. This drama is good, hands down. The writing, directing, cinematography are awesome. Aside from the brilliant acting of Lee Joon Gi and poignant emotions of Moon Chae Won, I want to give a shout for the ones playing the Baek's family with special mention to the one playing the real Baek Hee Seung! Such a short appearance as of ep 10, but totally blew me away!
Aaaaaah, episode 7. It's quite heavy. There were parts of the episode where I found my eyes discharging little tears. I'm not good with theories, so I will not try hard to guess, but it's nice to read some of the theories from here and on soompi. As of now, I know, Hyun Soo is not innocent for all the things he has done and it doesn't need to be just about murder.
Before watching this episode, I was already spoiled of what will gonna happen and how Ji Won was investigating her husband this episode, with notable tweets saying that she enjoys it, she's two faced and with two distinct opinions whether she's harsh or she's smart, and that they're glad she's not a crying baby. Before I go further down with my opinion of this episode, I just want to share my thoughts about those female who are emotional, in my own judgement -- it is not a weakness to be emotional and cry your heart out. Crying, actually, secretes a good feeling. People think you are weak if you cry. NO. But, only letting your emotions take over your sound judgement is the true weakness. And these emotions that I am talking about, it can't just be about the feelings of sorrow (as most people think), but, it can also be about our own intuitions or biases that we hold for or against something or someone.
Moving back to my opinion to this episode -- what Ji Won did to Hyun Soo, it did not *feel* *too cruel for me as others think, maybe, because I watched it in Ji Won's perspective or in this ep, I just was like a person passing by there who really wants know the truth or, maybe it is only because I am already spoiled! Just like Ji Won, I want him to confess and straight down, I want the truth to be exposed (not sure, if this what Ji Won really wants). But, after reading a comment from a person on youtube that what she did was unethical and actually dangerous to put someone with mental illness on that kind of position where his panic attack will be triggered, I think it would made sense to say that from a medical perspective, Ji Won did overboard. And what she did can be really considered cruel, even, I am *thinking* now, that it was a bit cruel. She and viewers like me who wanted to know the truth about Hyun Soo, we really might have gone far, as Ji Won also admits in the latter part of the episode. However, although she might have gone far, I do believe she still has the every right to investigate her husband, because, what Hyun Soo did is grave offense in every angle no matter what his reasons are, it's not something to ignore. She can love him while investigating the possibility of him being a cold-blooded criminal.
Moving on to Hyun Soo, as what others feel about him here, I also felt sad for him that he needs to hear the recording of what seems like -- his mother's humming -- in that basement. It was cruel for him and way too much for him, it was really a heart breaking moment. Aside from the theory that he maybe an accomplice of the serial killings that's why he's traumatized of that place, I think he's scared on that place for something related to his father's parenting style. So, it was really painful for him to go back on that house again, still, Ji Won did not know this, so I can say, that I understand her actions earlier although, those actions weren't always right. Ji Won, for me, she's not sadistic, she doesn't enjoy watching her husband go mad, but she's very very determined to know the truth.
To be honest, I still don't know what to feel about that cat and mouse chase between the two, I just know that it is heavy and quite hard for the both of the parties. Thank goodness, there is Moo Jin, he made me laughed at this episode. My favorite on this episode is actually Hee Sung's mom and Eunha's interaction. As always, Hee Sung's mom was crazy and anxious as always, but I'm glad to see her concern sides towards Eun Ha. From the start, I know there's good in her, deep down.
Wooooh. What a long comment, I know typos and grammatical errors are there, so, thank you for reading this.
The other reasons I see why people said that they did not like her acting is because of the biased judgment they…
Hmmm, thank you. However my comment above is not meant to stop others from criticizing the actors or actresses, as long as they are constructive, and if they aren't, I hope that we'll resolve it in a nice way. ^^ Let's just have fun watching the drama. I think the next episodes will be full of angst! I'm ready for it! :D
I understand what you are saying. I also love this drama and look forward to watching each episode, but this has…
It's okay. We all have different opinions anyway. :D
I kinda agree that her being a detective on the episodes 1 - 3 is too calm (but this could be because of the character she's trying to portay as what I've said above and I've got no problem with this), but in episode 5 and 6, I think she successfully expressed the depth needed for her character. Out of all the 6 episodes so far, those two eps are when I really felt her and have sympathized with her story. I think the emotions and psychological state of her character in episodes 5 and 6 are well conveyed.
I would like to see her break at one point and confront Hyun Su about him lying to her, but I am still positive and (really really) hopeful that after all the angst they will resolve their issues and start anew. I think their confrontation will show be shown on future episodes, maybe ep 8.
(btw, she already did break at one point on ep 6 but I am happy that instead of being controlled by her emotions (particularly anger and betrayal), she chose to investigate the truth about his identity and suspected crimes first. Many people are praising her about her reaction on episode 6 because what she did is not an easy thing to do. She's too strong, actually. If I were her, I might have lose my mind for everything that is happening, although of course I would first save my husband because after all, he's my family.)

The Naked Fireman has 4 eps only, Avici is a KBS drama special.
