Hats off to the beautiful cinematography and camerawork (never doubt this great cast)!!!
Plus his visuals. Seriously, he's looking even scarier with all those sharp features.

I hate the stupidity of some characters. Do Hae So went to the Baeks family and revealed that she knows something…
they outsmarted him. he thought he can corner baek man woo and make him confess. apparently, he didn't know baek hee seung is now alive, kicking and is the real accomplice, hence, he wasn't able to think of other variables. Hyun Soo is not dumb, it's just that, Baek Hee Sung is smarter, afterall, he's the accomplice.

psychologist who? physiciatrist who? kdrama taught us you only need to find a companion who loves you soooo much…
I don't know about other kdramas, I haven't watched them yet. I have only watched a psychological movie of Ryan Gosling named Lars and the Real Girl, which is an American movie and it's really good, then for a kdrama, Flower of Evil is my first.

Assuming you are talking about other kdramas, here's my opinion on Flower of Evil: Hyun Soo and Ji Won's relationship had span for 14 years and they have a child together. Not to mention that he also has his sister who keeps on pushing him to be better during those years when he was being mentally and physically abused by the village people. Therefore, I can say that Flower of Evil is not just a rom-com that cured other's sickness in a blink of an eye, Hyun Soo's emotional healing took many many years, it did not happen overnight just because a girl loved him, nope. Now, for his psychological state, we are still unsure if Hyun Soo has an ASPD. But if he has, I doubt that he's completely healed, the past episodes were just examples that he's not. By the way, I've read that people with ASPD can love their family although the way they show their love is not similar with how normal people do it. Back to Hyun Soo's psychological health, we never really know the progress of his ASPD diagnosis since there were no follow-up treatments, his last treatment was when he was still 12 years old. Hyun Soo is almost close to 40 now (maybe 36 years old), so there are many things that have changed a lot since then.

And, I do believe that the support and interaction that he gained from his little family have really played a huge part on his psychological being. Yes, we know that it's not a professional treatment but the love of his family is a lot lot lot more than we can think of, especially for a person like him (as others put it, his family is his safe-haven). In addition, even psychiatrist, as far as I know, they always put family support and healthy social interactions in the treatments of their patients. I mean, how in the world could a person just heal by only taking medicines and nothing more? He needs social interaction and most of all, he needs love and kindness -- sounds, overrated? I know -- but I strongly think that those factors are all part of making someone's mental health better.

I only do hope that Hyun Soo will receive a proper diagnosis before this drama ends and get professional scheduled treatment from a psychiatrist, so he improves more, although he has already improved a lot since his sister last saw him when he was just 18 years old.

(please, this comment above is just my opinion, this can't be purely accurate, I apologize in advanced if there were parts that I was wrong^^)

I was stressed after finishing episode 12 and 13 in a marathon! Haha! I mean, I was thinking, how can I wait another week after that cliffhanger in episode 13? I mean, ottoke??!! Still loved the episodes tho!

I also understand the frustration on Hee Seung outsmarting Hyun Soo, but Hyun Soo is not superhuman, he cannot always foresee everything. Hyun Soo did not expect the trap because he did not know the real baek hee seung is alive. Also, Hee Seung is a serial killer accomplice, of course, he's smarter.

But, I've gotta say that Ji Won suspecting Hyun Soo was a let-down moment for me. I know the doubt and suspicion may still come to her (especially, she's STILL a cop), of course. It was natural. But, didn't she realize that there could be a trap and someone is framing her husband since she already sense that something was off in Baek Man Woo's house? Maybe she did. I know Ji Won is an honest cop, but, I truly hope before she put the handcuffs on him, she could've listened to him first. I believe, Hyun Soo was truly hurt and felt betrayed because of her decisions. When he said those hurting words, I believe that those were really his real emotions and it was not staged. It was heartbreaking and shocking. However, the knife scene could have been his plan (and Ji Won, although she might have doubted him with the maid's murder, her trust and good memories with his husband might've kicked more, so she had chosen to trust him during that moment).

Btw, the fingerprint part, his fingerprint is not recorded on the ID system, it was never recorded. He did not change Baek Hee Seung's fingerprint, never. And, can someone do that? I understand others saying that he would need fingerprint on getting his other IDs, but I doubt that he did ever use his fingerprint since it will never work.

I know that most people will disagree with me but I think the story would be much more fascinating if DHS was…
That would be a different story and it would not be called Flower of Evil. The writer actually wrote this with a melodrama in mind.

The Meaning behind the title, "Flower of Evil", shared by its writer, Yoo Jung Hee, below: (πーπ)
“I wanted to share the message that even where evil has been buried, flowers can still bloom. ‘Flower of Evil’ represents Do Hyun Soo’s image, which cannot be defined as black or white or red. It also represents Cha Ji Won [played by Moon Chae Won]’s image, who has to learn to accept a new world after breaking down the barriers inside herself.”

According to the taxi driver, if he killed Nam Soo Kil then the police will search for Hyun Soo, as he's the most likely suspect.

You may want to read this account of a 31 year-old man diagnosed with ASPD, he's currently undergoing treatment:…
I always find his story similar to Hyun Soo.
I hope Hyun Soo doesn't turn out as misdiagnosed, although I agree that his child counselor (supposedly a psychiatrist) could have treated him better.

He doesn't have ASPD.....
We still don't know yet if he doesn't have an ASPD. So far, from what I'm reading from medical articles posted in the internet he has an ASPD (although I could be wrong, I'm not a professional). But, I hope he doesn't turn out as misdiagnosed (or maybe misdiagnosed in the first place then developed ASPD in the long run then is slowly going towards healing after starting a family). To be honest, many people with ASPD are currently experiencing stigma (like they are cold blooded murderers, manipulated, will stay like that forever, doesn't care about their family, etc.) just like Hyun Soo, so I hope, he will not turn out having a more toned-down mental disorder.

Here, this is an account of a man in his 30s with ASPD that is currently undergoing a theraphy: https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/your-stories/life-with-antisocial-personality-disorder-aspd/

it airs at nearly midnight on a weekday.
Those dramas are aired on Friday and Saturday while this one is aired on Wednesday and Thursday (weekdays, people can't tuned in to it because of work). But I agree with you that it deserves more, but among its drama competitors during this timeslot, Flower of Evil has the highest ratings.

He's so great in Flower of Evil! Such a short appearance as of episode 10, but his acting totally blew me away! Wow!
