Jo Gang Hwa is the biggest victim here, all characters were pitiful but no one is more pitiful than Gang Hwa..ending…
everyone else hates gang hwa, but i just feel so bad for him and i also feel bad to other characters too, but gang hwa, gang hwa, that loss had caused him too much pain

Asking for spoilers: how does it end?
It ended pretty well

As expected another great drama from the Go Back Couple writer, but I have to say that it felt quite drawn out…
I think it would have been really really nice if it shorten to 12 episodes. But, it is still a good good drama.

Title Crash Landing on You Spoiler
The first part is what I really loved the most about this drama, loved Seri's friendship with the North Koreansoldiers and how Captain Ri is such as a gentleman and a good man. The second part is executed very well too, but its best parts are the interactions of our North Korean soldiers in Seoul! They are incredibly hilarious, their brotherhood is deabak! But the character that touched me the most is Man Bok, his story made me shed many tears. And that flashback where Jeong Hyeok's brother accepted his money? That was a very good and touching scene, the one that will make your heart feel sad and happy at the same time. Glad, that in the end, Man Bok finally achieved the happiness he was searching and even got a job in Pyeongyang! What a nice way to end his story.

Now, Gu Seung Goon, to be honest, I was irritated on his character on the first episodes especially when he kept Seri away in his mansion, kunde!!! BUT HIM--dying in the end when I've already warmth up to his character on the last 5 episodes, it made me really really sad even. I felt like the story line for the 2nd leads were just not polished enough, kuredo (but still lol, trying to speak hangul lol), they managed to pull it off and made me loved them in the last episodes but only to end their story like that. However, looking back at the scene when he was hiding and the orphans were singing sad songs about how no one would cry at their graves, at least, Seung Goon got that one. So, it was still good, after all, him dying still made sense but would've prefer it even better if he did not die, he could've started a new life.

The first episode of the drama didn't make me immerse in the story on the spot, maybe because I was already spoiled even before watching the show or felt it wasn't that funny enough, but chapter 2 on wards, made me glued on my TV, for hours. I can't even finished the project I was working on and kept delaying it over time. After the episode where Captain Ri was shot, emotions just came through me. I now understand the hype. The drama has a very good story line and very strong supporting characters bonding that made it standout the most. It was funny, heartwarming and although the story was not really polished, the production was able to pull it all of and invoke so many emotions to me, and for that, I really loved it. I was just crying sad and happy tears on the second half.

What surprises me in the drama is that I will really like the character of Pyo Chi Su, I was really annoyed at him on the first episode, but I have grown to loved him together with our silly north korean soldiers, especially Ju Meok! One of the scenes that touched me is Eun dong wanting to wear a highschool uniform. :( He must have wanted to study and yet, at that very young age, he was taken away from his family. Good thing, his comrades take care of him.

To be honest, the love story between the leads are not a sexy type, sizzling with chemistry and all, but rather, it's a mature romance between two adults, who finds warmth with one another. And I loved that. Some were commenting, "how come they did not have some great kiss and all or maybe a scene in bed?!! Their love story was not believable enough, they did not even passionate kisses and all." Well, sexual interactions are not what makes a relationship work, but how you fell in love with the soul of one another. Seri has been looking a family all her life, but then her north korean soldier friends came, the north korean ahjummas and, Ri Jeong Hyeok came into her life. She was genuinely happy for the first time, she felt life, and he felt life in her too once again. You will now understand why their love story were worthy of crossing borders.

Character I hated, of course, Cho Cheol Gang, I absolutely agreed with the north korean ahjumma that he has weird eyes lols. On the last few episodes, I really wanted to skip the dark scenes (since I am working on my project and I can't concentrate without finishing this drama), I just really wanted to have the good interactions between all the characters and I want some happy moments, but Cho Cheol Gang would not let me have that. So instead of skipping, I postponed my project, lol. I was so immersed on my laptop screen and waiting what would happen next. What I noticed about Cho Cheol Gang's character is that, he was so unloved. He did not felt unloved, but he felt no loved, at all. He was like a killing machine, he wanted to kill and his reasons? We don't know. He just wanted. Being an orphan and having felt no loved (although he was loved by his bestfriend whom he killed too) that must have turned him into a monster.

Looking back on this drama, if you are to analyze the story, it had lots of flaws, it was not perfect. But still, they pulled it all off! The storyline is so goooood! And, for me, that is one of the reasons, why it is this highly rated. It has all the elements you would want to see in a drama, it is funny, romantic, cute, action, thriller, tear-jerker (indeed), and unique (of its type) love story that would cross borders. And if you are savoring the drama enough, you would find some really good life messages and ones that will break your heart into pieces (hello, Man Bok, Gu Seung Goon and Seri's mom).

9.5/10
