Just asking but why is romance so important to y'all? It would be literaly so unnecessary
(sry i have a learning difference so my typing suuucks)
we aren't saying that at all. the fact of the matter is that, more often than not, a woman and a man cannot: a) be friends b) be in the same room together without needing to bone in writing c) have the same structure.
i don't even mean non-binary in this sense. there's all diff types of relationships and love and friendship. if it isn't necessary to the story then why is it there? many times we can feel when it's just inserted in OR they feel a man MUST be there for the story to have added merit. like a man is a happy ending because it isn't just here it's CONSISTENT. and on top of that, even for shows not focusing on women, the romance /can/ ruin it. i cannot think of a worse place than for thrillers but honest to god women and men cannot be friends. this isn't just k-dramas it's just that people of the opposite sex really DO NOT need to be together every time. it doesn't always need to be about that and some women who write it are not interested in that or they want to subvert it (which is why i mention queerness as possibility; they have tight relationships as sisters and with women that's a form of intimacy, a man or anyone else can come in but that doesn't mean it has to be romantic intimacy or anything right away. and regardless just like when we see two men even near each other they are shipped it's the same with men and women.)
i understand what you're saying truly and i think people may not express themselves well when explaining the reticence with romance but we're saying two different things. it's nice, romance is beautiful, love is great but there's more than one type and it does not need to be there all the time. it really doesn't.
but no one is saying they don't want to have women who have identities and lives and strength and find someone, a cis man usually, who loves them and appreciates them. people of all genders and identities LOVE to see that actually. but the fact is it is not always romantic and it doesnt have to be. we can write / make aaaanyyyyything so why not think more outside the box? ask ourselves what purpose the romance serves. the show isn't even out but who knows but having a romance parameter is stifling. that's ok.
also if the work isn't explicitly romantic like not touted as a romance drama or romcom then WHY is it there? like i said we'll see if it properly sets in with the stor if they do have it. i also trust that this writer has great goals in mind given what she has written and done.
i am queer but growing up i never felt like dudes liked me. i like anybody no gender but it still matters a lot and i get bogged down when i should realize i'm great regardless and anyone, a man, is lucky to have me. because i am fat and black and a woman i would LOVE to see more het romances with these parameters or different couples and yes i said het bc that also gives women more of a chance to breathe and for us to see all diff types of actual love and women being appreciated so i am not in any way shape or form against it in fact when it is the right time i more than welcome it because you're right it's beautiful and an escape from reality and it makes us appreciate our loved ones too.
idk like u said above i assumed lol. what did u mean cos she's annoying? it's true yes. my b for extrapolating what you didnt say!
i saw above u hate it when they use a woman and same. also i hate the fact that her abortion got stopped by a man and i want to throw up. so i msorry for my response; jumped ze gun
is there a female one? i would love to see that too if anyone knows. btw thank you for all your articles holy…
hahah yea sorry that's why i edited. i saw yr other comment. i know it's insanely time consuming. and i'm sure as fuck lazy like probably most of us. so thank you for this and ur hard work esp for no pay. righgt on!
she looks great the lack of makeup is good and her getting muscled up with some weight gain. i hope she can display some good skills here so we'll see. i'm so excited i just love violence revenge and police hate so much it makes my heart sing. crime :')
now park hee soon is 51? cos uhhhhh woah yea i see him yea perceived
ok so i saw a clip from a scene and tbh it leaves me a little cold (it's a bit empty, the camera work is interesting but idk, and the song played isnt like...idk why it's there) HOWEVER i am willing to wait and see in the context of things. i wish netflix would upload their trailers in 4k as well bc it'sreally hard to see the intricacies and enjoy the work if it isn't as clear as it could be. also they need new editors for trailers but that's fine. still excited!
have the viewers over there been talking about anupam tripathi as well (idk how to word this so i don't mean to be offensive.) i didn't know he was in it, that's cool
Just asking but why is romance so important to y'all? It would be literaly so unnecessary
yea but i think for this instance at least the writer it wouldnt be true to her work. i'm sure there will be romantic interests but what would be even exciting about that? why do we need it? i think it's fine to want it by the way it's just that it's ok for us to focus on women and not want something else. also the writing of jung seo kyung is leaning towards being queer-coded (meaning any variation is possible) and it sucks there has to be a binary and not different types of even romantic rships if they are there. you know?
the source material is probably the inspiration but won't (can't if this is set in 2022) be from the book necessarily. i hope they pull in the elements of louisa may alcott's real life though and the prevalence of abolition and freedom in her work and real life.
what would be the conflict? i love nam ji hyun. her affect, her charm, her growth as she's worked. seriously. now. WRITTEN BY JUNG SEO KYUNG? BRUUUUUUUUUUUHHHH
EVEN THO i didnt like vincenzo and i can't pay attn to money flower i appreciate the director's messaging and what she likes to focus on. two women working on this and one who has (to me) proven such immeasurable skill and respect towards women /people against societeas~*~* ugh
not a huge kim go eun fan i know she's talented but sth put her off to me but honestly i would devour this i'm sure i'd love it. WOW.
