i think you're completely missing the point of the show
no, what i mean is that they are setting these characters here and then saying "we're all human" instead of making a mockery. the situations aren't to encourage prejudice, but to fight it and outline the absurdities of it. against immigrants, against women, against literally anyone different, and to be open and get mad to help everyone, not just yourself
it may have been too slow for them, or just not enough but.... but it's a really beautiful drama
i guess it's a matter of preference. i think people have seen both and decide. personally i prefer this one; though i love both and both main characters. i was so immersed in this sad, sad, sad world and i think the despair and intrigue started from the beginning tbh. i understand why others wouldn't. i don't know i was really interested from the start.
she was a genuinely horrible human being. and jung ryeo won wasn't the right person for her. maybe we would have…
TOTALLY. i think your sky castle point is great (i mentioned it in my review too....great minds.) i think that sometimes when we think "strong women" we think "act like men" when that's not it at all. it's standing up for yourself and what you believe is right, not exploiting power and being selfish. she jeapordized everybody. i agree at the interpretation of her too.....i honestly think she is a cruel cruel woman. the romance was basically dropped btw, if you stopped at ep 12. it became too convoluted and it was clear she was just too stupid to be with someone so in the end it's vague LOL
genuinely like the show and the way it goes. the slowness is perfect for me. i have a lot of thoughts and i am a big min cheol fan. but i am PISSED at this pastor just furious. i cannot believe this. that was a pretty deep thing to reveal to catch us off guard
so this drama was about dude trying to build his cult from scratch while in the original one the cult was already…
I think bc theyre all about cults. So maybe theyll make this an anthology series. this is from the con perspective but it is showing you how easily manipulate people are. i think itll be less this way cos like not everything is rly gonna connect to the other parts (or it could but thats in the future) but it is implied theres a reboot bc of repeated use of chars
I love it. it’s a totally different thing happening but still learning through grief and also finding place in misplacement. IRONY is not lost that it’s also about property because of problems with land and expansion. It may be slower, but it’s easier to digest. It took about 7? 8? Episodes for her to ask for their help in s1 and the buildup was incredibly slow for me. Theyre just very different pieces of work and thats a good thing
part of the point of the show is how much money can make you selfish, but i'd say the literal millionaires probably…
i agree with you to an extent. like, morally it's wrong. but we also realize why they did it and all of them were apologetic and will be paying for that for the rest of their lives. unfortunately life doesnt always work the way we want it and tragedy comes. they now have to repent. and if theyre not terrible, they will. my point was they have less influence and it's a lot easier for jo to change these people's lives if theyre receptive instead of reticent and absurdly wealthy
i really love this show. it's cute and fun and uplifting and at its core it's about the things we need most in life (family, friends, and a helpful community!)
i will have you know that i literally just started, on ep 2, and i fucking love it
