i think people are overexaggerating but i have no interest in arguing over one's personal tastes. i disagree that this is terrible and doesn't work or whatever and every example given isn't sufficient enough for me. so whatever. definitely dont think we should have people rating shows before they're over though but i don't run this website nor would i want to (nor do i want it to be regulated more).
anyway i am very excited for monday. and jack did nothing wrong <3 i mean he did but in like the grand sense of things bc he's a person and alive. in this instance he did what he had to. :) i wish this show took as much risk as not me did imo it doesn't go far enough but i hate capitalism and rich ppl so you know. lmao. but iirc those two didnt kiss until ep 7? 8? idr lol. i like this show a lot tho and think it's pretty good. if you're okay with being along for the ride give it a go. it's different and i like that. so i'd like to remind people that this show isn't having characters poor just for fun and in context the decision making has made sense.
potential marriage? well yes bc that's what money and monogamy (via patriarchy, patrilineage) are utilized for even if neither of them want it particularly wrt some presumed heterosexuality (which necessitates an 'epistemic erasure of bisexuality' but i digresssszzz). your romantic life being hampered because of money and obligation? well yes actually because romantic love is specific and for desireables while the poor struggle for love. it isn't just about how joke feels about it you know especially because he's not the one who has had to sell his body and soul in this instance. his 5 years and now not being able to find a job (and his shock over that is indicative of something btw!!!! cos he grew up w money!) are also suffering that are not at all unrelated to how everyone suffers under this capitalist exploitation. it isn't just about ONE relationship and how people who had money/were (or are) classed feel you know. more sympathy for arun over jack is crazy.
