I know they're saying that she has legit health issues or whatever... But if someone with Jung Eun-ji's figure has too much fat... What hope is there for the rest of us??
this is *insane*, one of the weirdest premieres I've ever seen... The body shaming of this poor lady is wiiild. But the comedy and goofiness is also hitting? Idk how to feel
I have never seen a couple that needs to be more divorced than these two. But my god, are they compelling... Call me a busybody the way I'm invested in the personal lives of these two fictional strangers. Setting aside all the ways they make each other suicidally unhappy... So the lady only became obsessed with social media and likes and comments after struggling with infertility... But was the husband always such a gormless, grim little killjoy? Did he become that way after marrying her??
Anyways, if they somehow stay married next week, I will need therapy myself because jfc. Those previews better be lying.
Kang Han-deul standing up to her asshole parents and even worse ex was the coolest, most badass thing ever. And tbh, that kiss was pretty good too.
also, I hate this trope where the divorced lady doesn't tell her parents her ex cheated on her or whatever. and then parents blame her & there will be a whole sad sequence. it's such a silly and cheap trope.
every 10 mins they do a "romance" scene where the couples just stare at each other dramatically, there'll be slow mo and the same 1-2 songs... and I feel nothing. there's no chemistry, no energy at all. at least the two main leads are kind and thereoretically cute, but the second and third couples... I don't see why they like each or how they came to like each other.
why does this drama always skip the resolution to the case? one minute, the halmeoni is adamant on a divorce and the next scene she's willing to stay with him? last time, the couple was fighting with no resolution in sight. next second, they're renewing their vows.
I want to watch this drama, can someone spoil me on the oldest brother's annoying wife storyline? when does she leave the story? is it ok if I skip all her scenes?
this drama is actually really good. it's not prestige television, but it's very gripping & entertaining in a pulpy horror/adventure kinda way. I thought the first 2 eps were good, if a little low energy, but eps. 3 & 4 were genuinely so interesting, I was glued to the screen!! i hope they keep up this energy.
Gang-cheol is so goofy and badass at the same time. in a drama that's otherwise very grim, the sheer joy and rapture he has with food (same bro). it's nice to Yeo-ri see slowly begin to see him as not totally selfish and antagonistic.
Yeo-ri is also so cool! she's competent, brave and willing to do the right thing while not going too far.
is it weird that I wanted to see a friendship form with Yeo-ri and the well ghost?? god, fuck that prince, I hope she drowns him... poor lady was about to let go of her rage and sorrow... period dramas rarely dwell on the consequences of a society where the 1% ruled like gods and could anything they liked with the common people.
the ending was a bit of let down. first, it seems she was more in love with her ex but the worst part is him meeting her before she moves out... she doesn't know him, she doesn't have a relationship or bond with him... how would any romance work herr?! it's not really a Happily ever after at all.
