I watched a few of her reviews… I noticed she’s less critical to her favorite actors/ actresses’ dramas. She really nip pick with this one.

It’s doing great in China. I followed Bai Lu on weibo and twitter, this drama is topping most broadcasting charts at the moment.

Interesting… during the recent TTEOTM promotional interview Bai Lu said that the director told the actors that they don’t need to read the novel before filming since there’s going to be some changes…

True. SJ mostly dealt with mistreatment/ isolation in the heaven realm in the novel. Now, they made the ML a saint and the SFL extra evil in the MY/SJ arc. At least there is only one episode left of this dream sequence…

Not sure if you watched today’s episodes, but they spent almost 30mins on the battle scene (barely mentioned in the novel )… which I find it unnecessary and it’s not really moving the story along but rather to highlight the ML’s presence. Also, the editor butchered some of the FL scenes and made it really choppy. I’m worry about the tower scene, it is supposed to be the highlight for the FL… now I need to lower my expectations.

Episode 1 is her adopted dad; the demon guy is her biological father.

See, they toned down his evilness so much that some viewers already find susu’s actions inappropriate during the mortal arc…even though he killed her whole immortal family before the sent back. Also, the drama didn’t spend much time on her backstory, just mostly on ML, very frustrating.

Haha I deeply regret reading the novel. I’m glad I didn’t read TSOKP so hopefully I’ll enjoy that drama more.

This’s the first time I ever read a novel before the drama aired; for the sake of enjoying a drama without much expectation, I’ll never do this again.

I read the Chinese version with Google auto-translation a while back… very rough read.

In the novel, she’s fearless, but yet she’s afraid of a crow/ raven in the drama… I’m trying to overlook small details but it’s hard not to compare. Maybe it’s best not to read if you haven’t.

Did anyone feel that TTEOTM’s writer made Susu’s character weaker/ dumber and TJ’s character extra pitiful and less evil compared to the novel. I’m a bit disappointed at the script writer and the direction the drama is heading so far… hope it gets better. I’m only watching this to support bai Lu. I’m posting this comment here bc I don’t want to go back and forth with the other fans who might prefer the character change.

Twitter is not as bad as Weibo and douban … It’s crazy over there… so much negativity. All the oppositions are out in full force, crazy!

I think wuxia has less fantasy elements… lots of fight scenes.

I used to wonder why it took TTEOTM so long to release the trailers… maybe they didn’t want the other dramas stealing their fresh concept and styling (vastly different from the recent xianxia dramas- very bland).
