I litterally never looked at the poster properly after all these years. I only noticed the way he looked at her,…
Haha, happens. I realized I forgot most of the show.

Title KALEL, 15
Brilliant movie that raises awareness about the behavior of the youth while coping with HIV. We follow the daily life of Kalel after he received his diagnosis. His life is a mix of normality and suppression. The reactions of his environment and his own numbness are perfectly portrayed. It’s a hidden gem. Must watch!

It’s on Kocowa. I watched it and it’s okay. Nothing special but also not something you regret to have watched.

Lee Sung Min is on the roll! 2022 was an amazing year for him. There was no character that didn’t excited me. Please continue to amaze me!

Nam Joo Hyuk is a pretty face and I always feel sorry that I cannot warm up to his acting. But the chemistry of their friendship is on point! Loved to see it!

Either way the movie is great. Since LEON I can’t even remember to have shed tears for another action thriller. So the whole story is relatable and heartwarming, so tragic and heartbreaking at the same time. But the script and directing manages it to captivate you from the start… and then we have the Talented Lee Sung Min on board who reaches your heart immediately. Great watch! I’m pleasantly surprised!

Okay I dont mind the fake tans tbh, I get it bothers some but I'm sure the actors don't want to naturally tan…
I lived in the Jeolla province and even today people are tanned there. The white skin addiction is mostly found in Seoul and surrounding. The more you go south you experience the real Korea. So I agree with you.

That’s the first fantasy drama in a decade that I dropped because it couldn’t hook me and was draggy as hell.

I think we talk about different aspects here.

In reality you’re right. Rich people were able to keep their lighter skin because they spend most of them time inside whereas poor people worked outside all day. So you’re right. That’s also portrayed in the show.

Maybe I misunderstood your first comment but I assumed you meant that the show uses tan to show clear colorism. In this case I have to disagree because it’s more about authentic portrayal of the time. If I misunderstood you and you indeed only meant the first statement that I agree with you. Was this understandable? 😇

The show had a very strong start. The locations, costumes and the old music transfer the watcher immediately in the past. The calm storytelling and the introduction of the characters worked pretty good for me. After 1 Ep I can already tell that I’m interested in all leads and their family stories. The family connection came unexpected and will be the most important info for everything that happens in the future.

I wondered the whole time how close they’ll stick to historical facts. Would the mid-finale be the portrayal of the Gwangju Uprising 1980 that also started in a cinema? Will the friends become enemies and betray each other? Will we get a more decent version of IRIS during the second half? These are all the thoughts that came to my mind but the ending of EP 1 already debunked most of it. Now I assume we indeed will only get the mood of the time but the specific friends/lovers story.

START OF THEORIZING. So new thoughts linger in my mind: Will our ml take the fall for his rich dude to finally end the family connection? Will he be able to repay the kindness with his action? What will happen to the idealistic father of the rich dude? Will the rich dude be pressured by the government in later eps? How did the rich dudes parents achieve to be married for 20 years when they have opposed political views? Will the fl investigate on her own to help the ml? Etc. So many questions and I can’t wait for answers because I’m already hooked. END OF THEORIZING.

Either way the beginning of the show is captivating and shows potential. I hope they’ll keep that up.

Honestly, you can discuss whatever you want. Nobody is stopping you! I just jumped in this conversation because the show isn’t portraying colorism when they show tanned characters. That’s it.

I Never Said That people are attacking the drama. I just said that it’s a pity to read only tan comments for now. It’s not that big of a deal.
