Set up episode is a bit of a struggle to get through but we get the idea - the Goblin homage was a little heavy handed with a dollop of Doom at your Service thrown in. Not essentially bad things but I prefer them to be a knowing homage - nudge nudge, wink wink. Still I did get to the end with some FF. (just my opinion yada yada, don't get upset yada yada, glad you like it if you do, yada yada)
Well started this twice and dropped twice the first few episodes fool you into thinking it's going to be all Nightmare Before Christmas and then you find you are watching whichever lead you fancy and admiring the portrayal of Sang Tae Oppa while it all goes terribly familiar. Shame, don't think I'll try again.
I'm really struggling with this, the only character I vaguely like is Lee Kwon Suk and she's not great. This could have been so much better with so little effort.
I agree on the " In general I can see a slide in the new modern popular C-dramas towards more powerful men, just being rich and vengeful and more and more FL roles giving the impression of being very youn, inexperienced, cuuute, dependent and dumb" - The whole baby voice thing is awful too. The lack of bite in the plot lines makes these failings all too obvious.
I still haven't gone back to it - I kept meaning to pop in and let you know I was struggling. The young leads still intrigue me but the rest really doesn't appeal. I occasionally hover over Play.... and then go and do something else.
For me it was hidden love, I loveeeeee lusi, but god the story line was not captivating for me, I thought maybe…
Sometimes the Romance becomes the plotline and it's really hard to keep things interesting for hours when that's the main hook. Sausage and mash are OK but really they aren't anything special without gravy (and maybe a touch of mustard).
I would recommend not bothering with season 2. All the fun and humour of season 1 is replaced by the usually tedious misunderstandings and nonsense. Season 1 I have watched a few times and it still makes me laugh out loud - I have never managed more than half a dozen episodes of the second. Seven Tan in a face mask is still a highlight.
I feel like the 'castaway' part is a bit wasted , like it's just there to move the plot along you can hang just…
Lots of good points coming through on the Castaway Diva as metaphor which is clever. Still not really bothered about the characters though. Can't quite get the hang of the FL character and the MLs do nothing for me at all. I'm afraid the lack of interest in the leads sort of looses my interest in who is Kiho I mean creepy nerd one or bit mean boring one?
I find the music a little mainstream for my tastes but that's the same same for nearly all dramas Still the actors are good so there is time yet they might pull it out of the hat.
I feel like the 'castaway' part is a bit wasted , like it's just there to move the plot along you can hang just about anything on it. Which is a shame really. The acting is good but I'm finding it hard to care about any of them.
Nice little Movie - nothing new (if you read Manga that is) but quite well put together. The acting is a little amateur and it all feels a little rushed.
