Title Alice, the Final Weapon Spoiler
Assassin student asassin, i'd go with the witch pt 1 or the original Hanna american tv series. Kick Ass also got…
Yeah I think they all did it better though Season 1 is the high point of Hanna

I don't blame you, the second half was much better than the first half though imo, if you wanted any motivation…
I'm not sure I can manage, I didn't like either of the leads (as characters the actors are fine) and the annoying voice in my head keeps saying things like "why doesn't he have brain damage" "Why isn't his nose broken and his teeth all knocked out?" "how did a skinny little thing like that chuck a big bloke around?" Never a good sign when your suspension of disbelief falters in the early episodes.

Kept me interested for an episode. Gave up after 3.
Good for slightly dissipated nihilistic teen angst memories.
Bad for form over substance.
Homage to Ki ck-Ass?
On Extraordinary Attorney Woo Aug 19, 2022
Loved the first couple of episodes but it faded fast for me. The characters were the best part but at the end none of them felt properly explored and fleshed out. Could have been so much more.
On Maiden Holmes Aug 10, 2022
Ah! so within the first episode the smart ass ML has already shown his superiority over the titular FL umpty times. Why not name it after him instead?
On You Are My Destiny Aug 10, 2022
Not a bad version though perhaps a little more morally flawed than others. As in the Korean version I reached the end of my tether when the online persona/grooming came up, though I'd already lost most of my compassion for the ML by then anyway. Up to about ep.30 it's ok but not great.

The romance only picks up by the last episodes and there's not much to watch, I recommend to just drop it
cheers @Geez

This keeps dragging me in and then spitting me out again. I quite the like the leads both their characters and acting but the rest of it ...not so much. If they could have toned down at lot of the background shenanigans and played with the romance a bit more it would have been better for me.
Stalled at ep. 9 I don't know if I'll finish it..
On Love Like the Galaxy: Part 2 Jul 30, 2022
Didn't realise we'd segued into season 2 which is nice.
I don't usually watch as things air, I'm not a fan of C-drama, I'm even less of a fan of costume drama yet I'm waiting for new episodes with bated breath.
Laugh out loud funny, swoon worthy in places and loads of people you love to hate - excellent stuff!

Autism is so cute!

The thing about episodic dramas is that the quality of episodes usually vary and so I found several cases less…
Perhaps so but I think it applies more to stories tied up in an episode than to stories that span 8 to 16 episodes. You can cover plot points in more depth and build to an appropriate resolution rather than having to wrap it up too quickly.
There are plenty of dramas out there with poor scores because the plot completion and loose ends are all left to the last episode and so cannot be tied up neatly. Episodic dramas are a bit like that every episode unless handled really well.

Me too I also feel sometimes that the point they want to make becomes more important than the 'case' itself leading to plot holes, deus ex machina resolutions and confusing time scales.

I have the exact opposite opinion. I don't like the drama circulating around one case like "Law School".All these…
I'm not having much luck with dramas lately so I may give it a go, cheers.

The show is worst of its kind and maybe the worst of 2022 in kdrama world. The show circle around same old cringe…
A little harsh but I get your drift
"Heroine's trouble is merely a prop and rest of the shenanigans have no logic and full of nonsense."
Is a much ruder and combative version of what I was thinking.

Sounds like this is perfect for you then.
I haven't watched Our Blues because it sounded like a bunch of bite sized stories, thanks for the confirmation. I haven't watched Law School yet either so I can't comment on that. Not sure I will as I'm not really a legal drama fan.

I saw a clip of WYW and was intrigued and thought it was worth a go despite being a legal drama. I'm much more of a romance and character fan so I expected it to be a bit of a battle.
On Extraordinary Attorney Woo Jul 22, 2022
Really enjoyed the first couple of episodes but I'm starting to struggle a bit now.
Episodic dramas aren't really my thing I much prefer an overarching story to be the main part of a drama rather than loads of bite size stories. Unfortunately that is the way EAW is playing out,
I'm also feeling WYW's character development is a bit too rushed and inconsistent which is a shame as that is really the draw for me in this show.
I'll keep watching but I'm already skipping chunks of the court cases.
Well worth trying If only for PEBs performance but perhaps for the court room drama buffs more than the romance fans.

That's the beauty of the soul swapping, it's the mystery of it. There's a whole thread of wild theories and its…
Well goodness me you chaps are obviously quite invested in this and have watched much further than I have.

I'm afraid her playing the part of a maid doesn't explain her dumb decisions per se but only when she is actually in the role. It's the dumbness at playing the role that is one of the things that bothers me.
I don't mind a bit of moral ambiguity but I do like a 'hero' to root for so I hope they aren't too 'grey'

For me I can put up with all sorts of logical holes and inconsistencies if the characters drag me in, the world mechanics are the backdrop and just have to not jar me out of immersion.
I'll give it a few more episodes and see where that gets me (it might be Orange Pekoe or it might be Ceylon or maybe even coffee)

I am terribly pleased that you all enjoy it so much though and I'm glad you enjoy discussing the mechanics of soul shifting and so forth.
Thanks for taking the time to respond I appreciate it.
