I originally dropped this at episode 2 read your review and gave you an upvote. I started it again recently because I'm running out of drams and I largely forgot about it. I managed to get through to episode 8 this time before I stalled. Came back here reread your review and again thought "she's nailed it" I wish I could upvote it again!
I've managed to get to half way through episode 3 and I'm really not sure. It'll drag me in then drop me back out with a thud. Isn't she supposed to smart as well as powerful? I mean isn't she? Because she acts pretty dumb a lot of the time and seems to find it pretty hard to adapt. Not great qualities for a master assassin. But hey every strong woman needs a man to bail her out. Is he a nice guy or a bad guy? I mean he's totally OK with having a cold blooded murderer as a Master ..so? Are the others bad guys? Oh I don't know! maybe it doesn't matter anyway as long as there are pretty boys, some laughs and cool moments. Not totally getting how this soul swap works either, will she go rogue and start munching on people?
It's a bit more polished and upmarket whilst on the whole staying true to the feel of the original. I think I…
In the Korean one the daughter wins her way in by her inspiring description of her Mother which in turn illuminates the love in their relationship. In the Japanese original the Mother hits herself in the eye with a jar so she can convince the school board she's fleeing an abusive relationship thus avoiding scrutiny.
It's a bit more polished and upmarket whilst on the whole staying true to the feel of the original. I think I was lucky seeing the Japanese original first , it's harsher and more real and harder to watch. I think comparing the way they got the daughter into school sums up the difference between the two quite well.
The third comment below me by @Colum H nailed it to the tee and I would like to add the following. The kids cast…
I actually just slogged through the rest of it - more because of my marvelling at Lee Yu Ri pulling faces than anything else. There's this strange disconnect between her eyes and mouth that makes her look cute as a button and as mad as a box of frogs all at the same time, which I find strangely fascinating.
It maintained it's cringe factor till the end and skirted any sort of redeeming plot line. Never having the guts to properly ring the emotion out of you with any sincerity. If you are a fan of naff 'family' comedies which lurch from erection jokes to schmaltz to tragedy give it a go .
Ooh who shall she end up with Wanker One who who made up a bunch of lies so he could live with her after she lost her memory. Or Wanker Two who treats her (and his fiancé) like shit. Gosh I'm on the edge of my seat.
For me the pacing was off so the intense moments which intrigued and pulled you in were separated by eons of dullness which frankly bored me. Dropped over half way cos I didn't care enough to watch it.
I wasn't massively keen on the ML from the get go but enjoyed the comedy, but now as the FL's twist has been revealed…
Skipped through a couple more episodes but I have no interest in the romance - the whole thing is too creepy for me. I suppose the take away is that she is so radically different in personality that it doesn't matter if she looks exactly like her sister. Unfortunately I didn't care it was just a no from me, I had hoped the trying to transform her into a lady would have held my interest but not enough to put up with the 'romance'. He ran around after her just because she looked like her sister I had no belief that there was any other reason by episode 8 so dropped.
I wasn't massively keen on the ML from the get go but enjoyed the comedy, but now as the FL's twist has been revealed I'm even less enthused by the romance. Neither character coming out of it well so far. The actors are OK though KRW has this I just need to be cute feel to him.
Got all tied up in this really in the end for the family dynamic - when the FL and the spoilt rich kid ran away and abandoned the family she 'loved' so much ... Dropped
Meh! Failed to interest me, didn't like the music and not a fan of the acting or the writing I saw. maybe it picks up but the hook didn't pull me in enough to find out.
I'm having to chain myself to the desk in order not to punch the monitor as I crawl through the sordid workings of Chaebol families (in dramaland only I hope..) and I'm skipping through most of them. All the different machinations of these terribly unpleasant people also have the disadvantage of being tedious. Unlikeable person A is being a shit to unlikeable person B over unconvincing business deal C - whilst person with personality disorder B just causes random trauma to anyone close. There you go that's a synopsis of most of the plot. Still I keep watching in the hope that nice girl A who is shat on by all and sundry will deal some serious revenge out at some point.
Well goodness me I'm quite impressed that they managed to fit quite so many unlikeable characters in so far - I'm only on episode 24... I'm having to skip most of the brothers scenes as he's such a knob I'm scared I'm going to pop an artery.
Started OK but by ep 40 or so I realised that I was just skipping through scenes. Didn't like either of the MLs though the 2nd was at least interesting. Didn't like that both MLs basically harassed the FL. Mainly though I just got bored, dropped.
