I think you are selling the other characters short if you think that the differences between Rong Hao, Little…
Just because I sympathized with Ronghao a little, doesn't mean I'm trying to sell the other characters short. That must be your 'big' assumption. I like and admire several aspects of all characters (including the villians). And like Moon supreme, Ronghao suffered a lot too, maybe even more. Moon supreme is quite lucky to have met xiao lan hua at the right place, right time because she helped him to change into a better version of himself ( which might be his true self). For ronghao, everything is harsh from the start. Even his origins are humble compared to that of moon supreme.
Again, this doesn't mean I view Ronghao's decisions as right just because I sympathized with that character a bit.
I was sorry for gim in the beginning but now? After seeing perfectly clear what he does is not out of love or…
I never said what he did was the right thing, but it seems this particular character had very little room to maneuver anything the way he wished compared to his friend Changheng or compared to moon supreme. I find them to be luckier compared to ronghao. That's the point I wanted to convey. Nothing else. In episode 32, the other guys too were not easily willing to give up the mission of resurrecting Orchid because of what they saw in the Tianji mirror. Ronghao was pushed to a corner before he decided to be influenced by evil god, Tai Sui. He had already run out of other options. Also, his love interest ( his master, Chi Di) is more duty oriented compared to Orchid who's willing to listen to her loved ones more and desires peace & love (including romantic love), and therefore chooses those over war in order to reconcile her personal wishes (to be wife of moon supreme) and her bigger wishes like bringing peace to the realms etc. Chi Di god of war was, and maybe is still more duty-oriented. Also, she's Ronghao's master. This means she's naturally used to others (especially her disciple ) obeying her and understanding her and following her wishes. Also, she doesn't come across as someone who's interested in finding ways to reconcile personal goals with the bigger-picture goals yet. So, in the past, it must have been difficult for Ronghao to persuade his master to choose some other path that'll bring peace without going to war.
Later, even Dongfang chose to take Tai Sui's help to unseal those 100,000 soldiers only because he was already pushed to a corner and had no other choice. If it were not for the heart curse, he would have proceeded to unseal those soldiers with Tai Sui's evil energy. The only difference here is ronghao's desire was personal whereas moon supreme's desire involved the bigger picture to fight a war to protect his realm by unsealing those soldiers.
But yes, perhaps Changheng or the current version of moon supreme ( who is a gentler version of his past self before his love tree got cured) most probably won't be interested in choosing a path that will awaken chaos in the three realms just to awaken their loved one. Yet, I doubt they'd just accept that scenario & do nothing about it ( especially moon supreme).
Lastly, if Ronghao's heart were truly black, ugly and dark, he'd never have made the choice to consider Changheng as his friend in the first place or made the choice to sacrifice some of his cultivation to save Chang heng. Considering the fact that Ronghao is quite smart, his logical mind knows that making a friend ( who's not only from the heavenly realm but who also holds a high position as god of war) will only serve as a liability and burden to his plans in future. Still, he did his best to stick to their friendship till the war episode.
I feel quite sorry for Ronghao. The other guys in the drama are quite lucky to meet the right persons & be dropped in the right scenarios which will help them to ressurect their other halves without trodding the pure evil path. Only for Ronghao, the odds were all against him. He never had it easy or anything & anyone in his favour. This character's circumstances are leading him to become a truly tragic character. Feel quite bad for him.
By the way, I quite loved Siming's answer to one of little Orchid's questions where she said everything in this world is fated except love. And orchid remembers that conversation from the past when she stabs herself with the fragment of that special sword.
Story in the novel is different from story in the drama. But orchid dies in 13th chapter (if one counts backwards…
You are welcome. Actually, the resurrection of little Orchid happens even before the epilogues (6th chapter from the end when counted backwards) in chapter 82.1 & starts to regain her memories from chapter 83.1 onwards.
Those who read novel please tell, Which chapter of the novel did XLH died??
Story in the novel is different from story in the drama. But orchid dies in 13th chapter (if one counts backwards from the final chapter) Then there are epilogues which describe happy things.

The second male lead character doesn't even exist in the novel.
No love triangle occurs in the novel which is what I love about the original story.
