Those scenes don't have to be long, I just love the visuals for them. But I'm thankful they're keeping the focus away from the wife, although Deok Ro's sister will reappear next week anyway. For Deok Im's fear about having to share him and not wanting to, they'd have to show that as a threat, I think. Better with the sister than the queen, imo.

I really wish they'd included the coronation, those scenes with their full regalia are always so awe-inspiring. But I suppose that would've meant they'd have to show his queen, and so far we're pretending she's a near non-entity..

Not a wasted scene, again. Lee Deok Hwa and Junho KILLED it. Every scene of theirs left me breathless, sobbing.

I'm trying to temper my expectations for what's to come, because really all their real and near skinship has been so ridiculously satisfying.

Yoo Ah In makes everything that much better! I've watched SFD 3 times and every time he still blows me away

I loved the dialogues in that drama. Rapid-fire and witty, and a FL with bountiful self-love to boot.

The colorists on this drama really are amazing. The few spoiler pics of him in the red robe that have been released for a while always make the robe look so drab on him.

Yes, the acting, too! Everything is just perfect. Same here, I haven't been able to truly enjoy a sageuk in a while!

Count me in, too. This hits three really good spots for me: true history sageuk, tragic romance, and freaking Junho. The storytelling, direction, and production design are gifts on top of everything.

Preach! On top it's a mournful, sorrowful romance sageuk... This is more like Romeo and Juliet than Pride and Prejudice, if we were to draw comparisons. They really threw us for a loop with the romcom antics at first, but boy did they get us invested in their story. I'm watching whatever else this writer puts out going forward.

And if you're curious enough to go further back, I suggest Six Flying Dragons. Epic 50 ep sageuk that tells the story of the founding of Joseon, and also has Yoo Ah In as Bang Won - such a great anti-hero. It also has a similar would-be romance subplot.

Yah, Court Lady Jo also has it behind her own throne.

These details are hard/impossible to appreciate without knowledgeable viewers pointing them out. But slowly putting the big picture together through them is so satisfying.
