Here's more on that document:
If you have watched Sungkyunkwan Scandal, then you might be familiar with the phrase uttered by Deok-im in the preview for episode 11: Geumdeungjisa. Yes, it is the same thing. It was said that greatly saddened with the death of Crown Prince Sado and burdened with the realization that it was political conspiracy by his court which drove him to send his own son to death, Yeongjo wrote the details in a document known as Geumdeungjisa (금등지사, 金縢之詞). In other words, the document was a proof of the conspiracy behind Crown Prince Sado’s death. Although Jeongjo himself spent his lifetime searching for the whereabout of the document, it was nowhere to be found, hence disputing its existence in the first place.

No prob 😄 If you're curious about learning more (not that it's academic research, but still it's way more than you get in this drama) watch the movie The Throne. This document isn't mentioned there (iirc, again hehe) but you see another perspective of how Yeongjo treated Sado and San. Yeongjo in the movie is quite different than the Yeongjo you see in RS. Very tragic story.
pls help me understand why there is so much secrecy about Document of Truth? dont see any logic behind it. i mean…
Because it contradicts the narrative of why Yeongjo left Sado to die in the rice chest. I'm assuming that, were it revealed during his reign, it probably would've destabilized his power. In reality, this document was never found, iirc.
I agree, I didn’t think it was a filler. It’s actually given a direct answer to Doek-IM’s thoughts and also…
I agree, and this circling back to Sado is so satisfying! Random observation ~ I had to smile when they used the breaking down of Chinese characters to get a clue about the location of the document - they've been subverting romance tropes left and right, but sageuk tropes are still very very present 😂
I've not seen confirmation about the 2 episodes on the 1st, but that's the only way the math works. We'll see. I wish I'd be 3 hrs, episodes have been 1hr 8min long for a few weeks now. 2-hr long finales aren't unheard of, and ratings have been just fine for those dramas (like HP2, CLOY, or R1988)
These new previews are giving me stress… the leads are busy trying to escape death every ep… like they escape…
I wake up right before my first meeting to avoid sns as much as possible, then right after the meeting the episode usually gets posted. Guess who's mysteriously out of office for a couple of hours on Friday mornings? 🙋♀️

I know!!!! 👀 Okay but I was hoping there'd be more? 😂 And I don't either... But the videos are a lot easier to avoid. My ig feed right before and right after the drama airs is me scrollscrollscrollscrollscroll

These pre-release videos I avoid like the plague. They last like 3 minutes.. The drama is so short already, those spoilers are too much. But I do like the stills bc of the high quality. They're soooo pretty
Look at them in this post.. Gaaaaaaaa the royal visuals are so stunning https://twitter.com/mbcdrama_pre/status/1471697618900504579?t=VsRjnqSWKF0lyY2yEoeH8w&s=19

That would be something else! We know it happens in San's arms, I imagined it'd be in his bed, but who knows..

I can't wait. And the costumes, I drool. You can even see like a jacquard pattern on the hat.
