Hope so! I always like to hear his review on the episodes when he watched it so I want to recommend BFTB to him and see what he will say about this drama.
But yeah it's just the waiting now.

Honestly I really regret recommending TTEOTM to my online friend.... Since he's now taking a break from Chinese dramas after that drama...
Back then we both have plans to watch TTEOTM before it broadcast since it looks interesting and we both like Yunxi.... So that's why although I was watching TTEOTM, and finished watching it.... All I remembered 90% of the time I was annoyed and frustrated at LSS(FL), so in the end I was at the point where I didn't care if they didn't end up together... I can even be okay if they don't end up together.... That goes to say alot about how I feel towards that pairing...
But in the end, TTEOTM can still give me an ending that I hated so much that I literally swore on my end and ranted back then... I get triggered when I see photos and screenshots on that drama so that really shows how much of a disappointment I have in that drama...
My greatest regret is telling my friend, "yeah watch it since it ended now but just giving you a heads up I'm not a fan of the FL in TTEOTM, so we can rant together when that time comes" LOL
My regret was instead of recommending TTEOTM, I rather recommend BFTB for him to watch first...
I did recommend BFTB after he finished watching TTEOTM(where he ranted too)... But by that time he want to take a break from Chinese dramas and watch animes instead.....

I think we all would too lol but I think considering the xianxia drama ending being such a disappointment nowadays I'm happy we already got what we got in the drama ending for BFTB.
One of the many reasons why I love BFTB is because this drama can be quite poetic in a way and I really love how Tian Yao really expresses his love in words, whether it's written down or through what he says but he says it in a deeper meaning that you can feel his strong love for her.
I remember I was teary in that scene when Tian Yao was the one who wanted to write that nuptial vow for YH. And how happy he was when it was finally written down on an ink that last forever, that whole scene really touched me and it really showed how far he's come from the beginning from someone who has PTSD to wedding and relationship but he was happy to be able to hold a wedding for YH on his end to the point he wants to write down that nuptial vow for her.
BFTB is really a loveable drama in my eyes. If only people give this a chance and not give up. I went into watching this drama without any expectation and also because I was traumatized by TTEOTM, I needed something to escape into on my end so I watched it without any expectations but I came to love BFTB in the end because this drama has healed me and gave me back the hope that I had lost in the Xianxia genre. So I am really glad that BFTB was aired AFTER TTEOTM!
IF people give it a try, if people don't fast forward the scenes on your first watch then you will get the answer and explanation to some of those questions, because BFTB really does play out the story in a logical way that makes you understand and appreciate the story and character AND developments in the end. The ending is rewarding IMO because it made the conclusion and the journey worth it in the end that leaves no doubt (at least not in my mind) that it's a happy ending
I will always love YH (FL) and TY (ML) in this drama and they are forever my favorite CP! I hope HMH and ZY can film at least another drama, this time a modern drama as CP where they can have lots of sweet and passionate scenes because I've also came to love their off screen chemistry very much. High budget like TTEOTM, if the story was a disappointment doesn't make it a great drama.
Low budget drama like BFTB doesn't define why we love it.
We love it because it's unique, heart warming and it's a healing to the heart from the usual xianxia stereotypical annoyance that happened in this type of genre. We love BFTB because the pairing actually is refreshing to see like this where they work through things together and they grew stronger together in terms of developments. We love this drama because the pairing has a HEALTHY relationship that will do anything to protect each other.
In the end... We all have different preferences in loving something. For me BFTB 1000% deserves to be regarded in the high rated drama because I personally really LOVE it!

HMH said, "No, no, you have to say: it isn't because of the Fox spell that made you fall in love with Tian Yao, you fell in love with him at first sight!".
Then in the end ZY , at first she said "I, definitely did not fall in love with Tian Yao because of the fox spell", and HMH was like "you said you would say it" (that wasn't the quote that he wanted her to say), then ZY laughed and said: "okay, okay, I, Yan Hui did not fall in love with Tian Yao because of the fox spell", and she didn't say the "fall in love with him at first sight part" 🤣🤣😂 poor HMH in the end didn't get her to say that part and he lost the game to ZY again because he forgot to accomplish his own mission that was written on the piece of paper loll
Yup can't agree more...even before he admit his feeling his care and special treatment for YH was quite obvious
To be honest I also love the final battle in the drama better because I love how YH actually has a role to defeating the final villain.
I love that it showed that TianHui is a Power CP where, Tian Yao was the one who destroyed FY physical body, and YH was the one who finish him off for good.
It is done in a way that makes sense too so I personally really love how the writers wrote that final battle on my end.
It didn't belittle the importance of why YH learned the Ghostly Eulogy to begin with and the key behind defeating FY once and for all was the reason we were given in the drama. It's well done IMO.
You know I was just thinking something because I've been rewatching the drama again, this drama really does bring out a very strong message of Yin and Yang being polar opposites and I really like the message it brought out in the drama.
I mean, Fu Yin(The Dark Phantom) is the embodiment of all the negative energy i.e. greed, anger, fear, ignorance, and unfulfilled desire, etc
Than it is clear that Tian Yao is the embodiment of the positive energy.
Back then when Tian Yao Dragon Blade(his weapon), didn't want to go back to him and would rather be sealed was because Tian Yao was carrying those negative emotions and has a strong hatred deep inside because he wants to take on that road of revenge which is not who he used to be, so if his blade is the representation of "Yang" and all the flower elves hope and blessings, what Tian Yao felt at that time when he wanted to take his blade back was going against who he used to be (the embodiment of Yang, positive energy), because he carried those negative "Yin" energy at that time would probably be the core reason why the blade didn't return to Tian Yao despite the reason why Tian Yao wanted to revenge for the flower elves was a good reason behind it. It didn't help because "Yin" and "Yang" counters each other.
And we can see that when Tian Yao, finally accepted his feelings when he placed the "Spell" on Yan Hui, was because of his love for her, shows that it is the first time, in a long time that he is finally showing those positive feelings again. He's acknowledging his love for her when he took the step in willing to protect her life above his own, showing his own selflessness which are all feelings of positive energy and emotions.
Tian Yao is also a very selfless character because once he comes to love Yan Hui, all he wanted was for her to be safe and happy. He didn't need her to know how much he sacrificed for her and if she come to love someone else, Tian Yao will respect her and wish her happiness.. after all, he did said: "I was once deluded in the midst of hatred, but after meeting you, I am willing to give everything I have. In the future, if you have someone you like, I will also pull off the scales on my body one by one, make them into armor, and give them to you, my love" - that really killed me to see just how selfless he is, thankfully Yan Hui only loves Tian Yao because he really deserves to be happy and loved in return!! This is why the true embodiment for Tian Yao has always been positive, kind and selfless
This is the complete opposite to Su Yin and Fu Yin because respectively they are both selfish...
Thank you to the scriptwriters for giving me a drama that is filled with these deep symbolism that I've come to appreciate on my end!
In the novel - A Cha(Snake demon) and his lover Xi Yun didn't get a happy ending because Xi Yun died from the backfire, so that was a nice change in the drama where YH was able to save Xi Yun from dying by absorbing the dark aura into her. At least it wasn't a waste for her to be the lady of Dark Aura at first because it served a positive purpose to allow Xi Yun to live.
In the novel YH Shixiong died but in the drama, they spared him.
I was even surprised that BXS which is a drama character only is alive, but these are all positive surprises for me.
All I asked for in an ending is Happy ending that leaves NO DOUBT and I got that in the end of the drama for Back from the Brink.
Xianxia dramas nowadays is a disappointment from the current trend in their ending so I am glad that Back from the Brink break that trend, and give us an ending that we appreciate where all the other side characters got their happy ending with their own happy closure in Back from the Brink.
Back from the Brink really does break a lot of Xianxia code which is why it's so refreshing and loveable in my eyes. I felt like if people can't get into it or don't watch it, they are really missing out on this drama!
