I dislike the whole life-exchange spell thing and seeing how he is going to actually die in just a few episodes…
I don't mind how the life exchange spell played out in this episode because it touched me to be honest.
I also think that scene was shown as a way to highlight their equal love and sacrifice for each other.

As for the Dragon egg part I kinda wish it won't happen because I know I will be sad when it happens... But we will have to wait and see how it will play out in the end.

"If BXS did not do what he do today..." <- You're looking more on a realistic setting, but for fiction it will happen that way because the writer had plans for it to go that way to not have TY die in YH place.

I am not saying that TY is not willing to give YH his HPS, because he will give it to her if that wasn't reserve for BXS instead. If BXS didn't do it then I am sure the writer will eventually have TY do it but that is the "What if".

I think the writers have BXS be the one to do it instead of TY is because this is like a start to BXS redemption arc for the viewers in going back to the character where he's less annoying and hateful as he was in the last couple of episodes.

Which was something the Dark Lord did on his end when he went into YH mind eye.

Although I felt like out of nowhere the writers just want to do a 360 degree change on BXS and suddenly have him be the one who can think rationally or something, while showing the viewers that TY in that moment really didn't mind to sacrifice himself in exchange to keep YH alive, bringing out the equal feelings they both have for each other. YH who always values her life would rather TY lives instead and she's willing to sacrifice herself to protect TY. This feeling and actions is mutual from TY side because he would do the same. Sacrifice himself to protect her life. This was the highlight to that scene
While I also agree that it was dumb but when two people are strongly affected by these emotions of love, they really can't think rationally.
That's why I think the writer have BXS do it in a way of starting his character redemption arc to go back on the right track as a supporter instead.
