I also like the phrase he said to her while she was unconcious after being attacked by wuxi, '' i just want you…
Yeah, I also love what he said, because it shows how much Shang Gu means to him, and it's indirectly saying that he's not asking for her to love him back, to him as long as she's safe (her safety/well-being) is what matters. I see this as selfless, and this is also why his sacrificial path to take her place to ensure her safety (and wellbeing) touched me so much <3

Title Ancient Love Poetry Spoiler
I think there is explanation in the novel, at least I read it somewhere here - the tribulation is over. The tribulation…
Bai Jue told Tian Qi that "if it comes back", so there's no certainty whether it will definitely come back after it's resolved the first time. To me, the tribulation of chaos is just a 'one time' only, that's why Zhi Yang said that it can only be resolved with the Power of Chaos, Bai Jue back then couldn't resolve it, because he doesn't have the Power of Chaos, so if he's going to sacrifice, it only will be able to sealed it temporarily and it will come back after the time runs out. So looking at this comparison, I do think that this Tribulation of Chaos is a 'one time only'

I do think this whole thing is a test though. The Chief God responsibility is to protect the Three Realms and that's their destiny, so when they accepted their destiny, that's them accepting that they will be the sacrifice to stop the Tribulations of Chaos (it's a test to see if they are worthy for that title as Chief God).

Back then, Xuanyi was the first Chief God, but after he found out the destiny of what was installed for him, he rebelled against the God Realm and went against Destiny. He even said that Destiny is the enemy. After he rebelled against his own destiny, and fall to the 'Devil', Shang Gu was born, which her destiny was to replace Xuanyi. Literally, you can say that Xuanyi made Shang Gu the scape goat on something he should have done back then. Well, if Xuanyi accepted his destiny, then there won't be a story to tell us the difference between Xuanyi and Shang Gu.

So when Shang Gu accepted her destiny, to be the sacrifice and stop the Tribulations of Chaos, Bai Jue protected Shang Gu from her destiny, by saving her soul and temporarily sealed the Tribulation of Chaos to stop the process back then.

When Bai Jue found out what exactly was the Tribulation of Chaos, all he wanted was to protect Shang Gu from her destiny. But Shang Gu accepted it because that's her responsibility as the Chief God.

I think this whole thing is like a test, so it was a 'one-thing' only. The story is telling us about Love & Responsibilities. Bai Jue protected Shang Gu from her destiny to replace her instead by obtaining the Power of Chaos, because he loves her, and he can't just sit back and do nothing. His sacrificial love is the core to this story, where it's not about love, but it is also about responsibilities of them being True Gods. While both Bai Jue and Tian Qi loves Shang Gu, they did not take the same paths to achieve the end result. Tian Qi only cared about protecting Shang Gu by sacrificing the Three Realms, and disregarded the innocents in the process, while Bai Jue will protect Shang Gu, by replacing her in this tribulation instead, which is protecting her from her destiny, and bringing peace to the Three Realms. Tian Qi even made a comment in the novel, after he realized Bai Jue's plan (which in the novel, is unlike the drama, he only found out just before Bai Jue sacrificed himself T^T) that his love for Shang Gu can never matched Bai Jue.

So, in the end, Bai Jue was able to come back is because of a 'miracle'; because they have passed this test, and it was also Shang Gu's wish for Bai Jue to return to her. I think it is also because their love has touched the Ancestors God to create this miracle for them, because in the end, they did not disappoint between love & responsibilities (how I see it).

Anyways, that's how I see it, in the end, I ended up rambling again haha.

He's actually romantic at heart. Just a little shy/reserved 😏
Yup, he definitely made a lot of progress at the end of the 1st arc, and yeah, he was planning to confess to her too 😍😍😍If only that tragedy didn't happen 😭

You're right. I love the good times in God Realm. They were happy but the happiness didn't last long T.T
IKR, none of us (non-novel readers) was expecting the tragedy to happen, who would have known the destiny of the Chief God would be this cruel 😭

He actually is, and shy indeed, but he's just someone who takes time to really fully open up/express himself. Afterall the last day they spent together, along with the part how Shang Gu took Bai Jue to the lower realm and they have their "date", that was sweet too, and during that time, he's already made big progress when compared to the reserved him at the beginning <3 Afterall you never can get an initiative from Bai Jue to kiss Shang Gu (back then), but he did, although how Shang Gu avoided him afterwards made him embarrassed hahaha! 🀣

yeah... that was the sweet moment. so if you have to choose between the sweet or angst which one you prefer?
I love them both! I don't mind the angst to be honest, as long as it leads into a touching moment afterwards. Ofcourse from time to time when the angst is too much, then I will always go back to the first arc (bless those moments in the God Realm) for the sweet moment between Bai Jue and Shang Gu <3 Sometimes if I want to watch their angst moments (that pulls at my heart), then I will watch those angst moments XDD

Honestly, when you go back and watch the God Realm, at the beginning, they were all precious moments between Bai Jue and Shang Gu, I mean, to this day, I still can't believe, Bai Jue actually said this 'out loud' to Shang Gu: "You are considerate and thoughtful, gentle and generous, beautiful and brilliant, tender and attentive. You're the best in the Three Realms" 🀣🀣

(While it is not something Bai Jue would say out loud, and this is all thanks to HongRi LOL 🀣🀣 but honestly, I do believe these were how Bai Jue felt for Shang Gu deep down in his heart, because Hong Ri understands Bai Jue best on his end 🀣🀣)

Wow, i've never been so emotional to a drama. Even AOL didn't make me this emotional. The quotes and the scenes…
Tencent have a way with these videos to make us unable to move on, it's not the first time, I've experienced this back then when I was in too deep with Chen Qing Ling (The Untamed) LOL. Well, not that I am complaining because the more advertise Tencent does, the more fans it will gain, and hopefully this drama will reach a higher rating than it is now.

ALP >>>>>> AOL for me (LOL). I am not a fan to AOL.TMOPB have a more fulfilling ending when compared to ALP if…
Hahaha, okay, whichever is easier for you πŸ˜… (Hopefully by the time, I am still active on MDL as I am now ^^)

Yup, to be able to fangirl, and share our thoughts together, via the online platform with other fans is always a nice experience <3 I got my online friend into watching ALP, he started it on Tuesday night by watching 1 episode, and this morning (Thursday, well, my local time), he told me he is up to episode 9, and I'm like "omg, so fast LOL", I didn't expect that, I thought he will probably be up to episode 6 or something πŸ˜… Well, not that I am complaining since I would be like this too, if I am watching hahaha πŸ˜…

OMG. LOL, the bromance between Xue Qing Xuan and Longyan is very welcoming and there's two BL moments LOLOLOL, that happened to be caught by Qing Qing, I was laughing so much during those times LOL πŸ˜‚ and in the comment section fans were saying, "How come they get to have "these BL moments", and my Wangxian in CQL couldn't???" LOLOLOL πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ The actor for Jing Guangyao, turned out to be a 'scheming bastard' to me in Miss the Dragon, I was hoping he wasn't and I did like him at first in Miss the Dragon, but just when he showed his true colours, I'm like -___- And for me, I get the vibe.... that he likes Longyan on his end.... The romantic kind of like, like some of the things he do/said gives me that vibe LOL.

There is indeed a sequel/spinoff novel for Tian Qi and Bai Shuo(I think that's her name), but in the drama, you know the little girl that Hou Chi saved in Diben Town(I think that's the town's name), and how later Qing Mu teach her cultivation/martial arts or something, people/fans speculate that it is Yuemi's reincarnation, because her name is "Bai Shuo". So it is kind of is foreshadowing to a S2. But they didn't make it full-evident there will be a S2, the novel already have a sequel/spinoff though. Honestly, if the drama have a S2 for ALP, I really hope they can bring back the original cast, still want Xu Kai to play Bai Jue, and Zhou Dong Yu to play Shang Gu!!!

That's good to know that AMA have a happy / fulfilling ending for all fans to that drama ^^ As for no kissing scenes, I was fine in 'The Untamed', because I know it's BL, and they won't give us that due to censorship -_- So my expectations in the Untamed (Drama adaptation) wasn't that high, although Wangxian, or should I say YiZhan manage to pull it off with their great chemistry <3 <3 For Female/Male, I have a different expectation when it comes to romance side of things, since it's a hetero story, and so, why censor out their kiss scenes??? LOL, that I will never understand πŸ˜…Hahahaah, from the clips you've shown me, it does look appealing, so I might consider putting it down on my list to watch one day, although that won't be anytime soon, since I am currently having withdrawal problems from ALP πŸ˜… I can see in those clips you've shared that Xu Kai's character does show that he loves/cares for Bai Lu's character, which is nice. Xu Kai really have a way of acting and expressing his love with his co-star <3 Even in FIYS (Falling into your Smile), the Female Lead (Cheng Xiao) made it awkward for me, from her side of the pairing, because she failed to show me her emotions like 'she's in love' with Lu Si Cheng (Xu Kai's character), but it was thanks to Xu Kai's character that made that pairing likeable to me haha πŸ˜…

In terms of where the ending is concerned, the novel ending is really disappointing, at least the drama gave us an extended moment, only by 'a bit' πŸ˜…πŸ˜ Seeing them in each other's embrace looking happily like that is better than not getting at all in the novel... Well, I will take forehead kisses over nothing at all LOL πŸ˜… If APL have a more extended happy bliss/between the Bai Jue and Shang Gu and a family of 3 on the same screen, I would have been more content haha... πŸ˜…

Just want to share info about how xu kai got casthttps://www.instagram.com/p/CR3U0ABNidh/?utm_medium=copy_link
I'm not complaining. Xu Kai acting makes me a fan, and it's thanks to him that made the character Bai Jue and Qing Mu so enjoyable to me. Like I said before, Xu Kai is very good with his micro expressions, especially showing emotions through his eyes.

Haters will always hate which I will never understand those type of toxic people..

Yep Xukai's answer hit the nail perfectly and that's also why I second that too bcuz I understand both Qingmu…
I see, I see, glad we are on the same page about that, and yup, and in the novel, it was also pointed out in his monologue that the sword stab does not hurt, but her words does 😭😭 So yeah, when you think about that, it does feel like what she said hurts him deeply, but it can't be helped because he wanted her to give up on him, which makes it even more sad 😭But yes, we all know that was impossible because their love is unbreakable and pure 😭😭

I have been going back to rewatch the first arc again, because it's the precious times. That ending lol πŸ˜πŸ˜… Let's hope there will be a season 2, and if there is, I honestly hope Xu Kai and Zhou Dong Yu will come back and play Bai Jue and Shang Gu again, because if not, I don't know if I want to watch it πŸ˜…πŸ˜

Hahaha, you are onboard the Hei Jue reference πŸ˜‚ Well, like most C-Fans are too hahaha

Yep Xukai's answer hit the nail perfectly and that's also why I second that too bcuz I understand both Qingmu…
Actually to me, when I said, it hurts me to see him wearing black, is not about him doing something bad behind her back, since lol, I don't view what Hei Jue doing is bad(because I understand why he did it, and won't question him for it), although, it's a sacrificial path he's taking so he can protect Shang Gu from her destiny.

If I were to elaborate how Bai Jue wearing black makes me feel i.e. sad seeing him wearing back because it is more symbolic of how he is being misunderstood, which yes, he have Hou Chi/Shang Gu misunderstood him on purpose, because *we know why*, when I am re-watching the 3rd arc again, I just felt sad to see both Shang Gu and Yuan Qi misunderstood Hei Jue like that, and since Tian Qi know what Hei Jue is planning, he could have told them the whole truth, but he didn't because it was Hei Jue's wish and Tian Qi understood why Hei Jue did it, so he helped him kept that a secret.

Bai Jue wearing black = Hei Jue, to me, how I feel about this whole 'black' business is a symbolic to how he is feeling sorrow/pain on his end(yet, he is silently enduring all this, not letting Shang Gu knows). And the mystery surrounding him, because Shang Gu don't understand why he's changed so much, but we know, and the black is like a symbolic of the tragic-path, because there's no light at the end of the tunnel for him, since he is already determined to take her place in this tribulation, which is why for me, when I see Bai Jue wearing Black, it does bring out a tragic sense in his character, because he's doing all this, but Shang Gu and Yuan Qi just doesn't know how much Hei Jue loves both of them 😭 And it's a reminder for me everytime I see him in black 😭

While I do think Bai Jue looks handsome in black too LOL πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ But the Bai Jue in Black = Hei Jue, and yes, I felt the same too, the black to me, additionally is also a representation to how he is hiding his true feelings deep within his heart, and not let Shang Gu know how he truly feels. Even if some of the things she said/do have also hurted him in the process too (My heart hurts for him when Shang Gu poison the wine, because he didn't think she will but she did, although he didn't let that get to him in front of her, but damn, that scene, I felt for Hei Jue so badly 😭😭)

So for me, when he wears black, it brings out a tragic sense in his character, and makes me feel sorry for him, since him wearing black is already total opposite to who he once was, but as Hei Jue, he is more vulnerable to being hurt on his end. Just like Tian Qi said to Shang Gu, "Bai Jue have been enduring this very painfully", yet he kept the whole truth from Shang Gu/Hou Chi, is because he didn't want her to feel sad (when he's gone). That's why he wanted her to cut/broke off her love for him/Qing Mu. It's sad really.

Bai Jue/Hei Jue, to me is definitely a character worth loving. His sacrificial love, and how he endured all this silently, so he can protect Shang Gu from her destiny, just makes me love him even more. True, some of the things he said have indeed hurted Hou Chi / Shang Gu, but honestly, on most times when Shang Gu came back, what she said and did, does hurt Hei Jue too when you look at it, and when he tried to hold back his tears, but later when she's gone, he cried.... that's just.... well, the angst for you 😭That's why I am not satisfied with the short happy ending LOL 😭And always go back and watch the first arc again, since those are precious moments before the tragedy occurs haha

Glad you find the new nickname loveable hahaha!

Maybe you can try advertising this drama to a friend who likes to watch dramas? hahaha. Then you can talk to them about it.

And yeah, it's good to watch it again and see it from a different angle/perspective, since you can pick up certain things you might have missed originally. I know I certainly picked up a few on my end, which makes it better since I understand the story to a whole new level.
