Omg, I advertised ALP to my friend and told him that ALP is on par with TMOPB and ELOD, because he loves both these dramas, I originally said 'on par', since I didn't want to raise his expectations to a great drama, and today, just then, he told me since I asked him, how he's finding ALP so far? He told me:
"I likes this one(ALP) better than The Legends and this is even better then Ten miles of Peach Blossoms, the story and plot characters the build up all fits so perfectly and nicely, like not one moment is wasted and niether is one part draggy. like all of it is just nice so well balanced, i do like the fights so cool and of course the gradual build up to things happening"
Hahahahaha, well, that actually puts a smile on my face, even though I love TMOPB alot, but I also came to love ALP a lot too, so it is well deserving for this praise ππ And hooray, I got another fan to this drama! π₯³
When bae jue created Qing mu, what happened to his original body? When qing mu wondered off why bae jue was unable…
It was said that to create another body, he have to suffered the pain of splitting his 'original being', so this is why Qing Mu is still Bai Jue, but an 'extension to Bai Jue'. After Qing Mu was created, his spiritual root do not carry Bai Jue's essence, because that was left back with the other half (Bai Jue) in the Ice Cave/chamber. That's why no one can sense Bai Jue's essence from Qing Mu. Qing Mu's goal is to cultivate demon power, doesn't matter how he battles/kills monsters and gained experience, these cultivation will be added to the demon side (since that's the core to his body); his body was supposed to absorbed the demon power, because Bai Jue needed to obtain the Power of Chaos on his end.
The only way for this to work, is for him to mix his own immortal power with demon power, to obtain the 'Power of Chaos'. Since Bai Jue spiritual root is Immortal, he can't cultivate demonic power, because they repel each other. Shang Gu can because she was born with the Power of Chaos Core in her, Bai Jue couldn't because he wasn't naturally born with it, that's why he have to go through the pain of splitting his original being, and have the other half of him (Qing Mu) cultivate/absorb demon power, so when they are mixed/combined into one again, he can obtain the Power of Chaos Core.
There's no reason for Bai Jue to bring Qing Mu back to him, back then, when he first created him, because that's the whole reason Qing Mu was created in the first place is so he can cultivate demon power.
Bai Jue went into a deep sleep after Qing Mu was sent away doing what he's supposed to be doing, one reason is I think is because he exhausted himself, another reason is because he and Qing Mu can't exist together at the same place/at the same time, because if they are, then they will become one; like Gu Jun said, as soon as Bai Jue wakes up, Qing Mu will be gone, since they are the same person. It wasn't Bai Jue's intention to come back this early, since him coming back this early have cost him, he only regained 40% of his powers, but he rushed back, because Wu Huan have every intention to kill Qing Mu on her end, right there/then. So if Bai Jue did not come back, Qing Mu would have been dead. So don't blame Bai Jue for coming back early, blame Wu Huan.
To me, Qing Mu is an extension to Bai Jue, a part to Bai Jue without Bai Jue's essence, or his memories, that's why the whole 'without memories' part is what enabled Qing Mu to have his own carefree personality and also because Bai Jue failed to sealed Qing Mu Power of Origin being, which lead to Qing Mu having his own spiritual strength/sense; so that's how Qing Mu and Hou Chi fell in love and ended up together, because if you notice when Qing Mu first saw Hou Chi, he sensed a familiarity from her, like they've met a long time ago, and that she's the girl in his dream. These were all extensions made possible because it originates from Bai Jue. This is why to me, Qing Mu x Hou Chi are extensions to the love Bai Jue have for Shang Gu. Ofcourse, Qing Mu comes to love Hou Chi as Hou Chi, through the time they spent together but what I am saying is that, without the love between Bai Jue and Shang Gu, the love between Qing Mu and Hou Chi would not be made possible to start of with (if that makes sense).
So to stop my rambling, when they became one, we saw that Boxuan(well, that's Bai Jue) goes into Qing Mu's body, to become one with him, instead of the other way around, so you can say that through these events that happened, that became his original body. But to me, Qing Mu's is an extension to Bai Jue (without Bai Jue's essence or his memories), when they became one (merged), they did became one, so Bai Jue have complete memories of what happened between Qing Mu and Hou Chi, and he knows how Qing Mu was feeling, because like he said, no one knows how Qing Mu feels better than him, because they are one. Technically you can say that what Qing Mu have been through, it's the same as Bai Jue since they 'became one'. You can take Qing Mu is the original body after they merged if you want, since that's what we saw, Bai Jua(Bo Xuan) going into Qing Mu's body, but the end result is, they became one, so Bai Jue is the 'complete' version; whereas Qing Mu was a part/extension to Bai Jue; but they are one and the same. Personally for me, I don't see Qing Mu is gone, because he lives inside Bai Jue, since they did become one. What's gone, is just the carefree Qing Mu who can love openly like that, but honestly, who's to say that Bai Jue can't be like this after all this/post ending? To me, he can, so I have my stance to this. Even back then in the God Realm, Bai Jue have shown me his sweet/adorable traits (like Qing Mu).
I've been waiting for this drama since I first know Xu Kai and I'm glad it didn't disappoint me at all! In fact…
Nice to see another fan!
I also have a lot of moments I love too: - I love the part when Shang Gu was drunk and she kissed Bai Jue on the forehead, that part was so adorable.
- The part when Bai Jue wants to apologize/make it up to Shang Gu, but he didn't know what to say/do, so Hong Ri helped him by writing it down what he needs to say, and he actually go and read it out loud to her, 'word for word' and how he got embarrassed afterwards HAHAHA.
- The father-Son moment between Bai Jue and Yuan Qi <3
- The Bromance between Tian Qi and Bai Jue in the third arc <3
I was also saying this to an online friend, how I got my friend into this drama, and how I felt like if I am going to list down all my favourite scenes/parts, it's going to be very long, as if it felt like I am listing down all episodes and plots LOL. This drama is such a hidden Gem! People who don't watch it is surely missing out!
I think there is explanation in the novel, at least I read it somewhere here - the tribulation is over. The tribulation…
I should do that lol. Do up a word doc on my end, or something haha. That's also the whole reason I made the thread "Bai Jue's (Drama) perspective" in here, so I can refer back to it, since I know I will be repeating it to some people in here, who can't see this in Bai Jue's perspectives =__=
The Ancestral God being able to bring back Bai Jue with complete memories was indeed really merciful of them, and showing yes, they are not some heartless divine being. But to me, Bo Xuan is Bai Jue behind a mask, so he's still Bai Jue to me haha. Although that part about Qing Mu, true, since Qing Mu is a part of Bai Jue, but not the 'complete Bai Jue', so having Bai Jue return with his complete memories is just <3 <3 <3 And did you see the part when Bai Jue called out "Shang Gu", before he said "I am Bai Jue"? There was a subtle reaction from Shang Gu, showing that she was surprised because she didn't expect Bai Jue will come back with complete memories, so she was expecting for the worst, although when Ba Jue said "I am Bai Jue" to her, she expresses how happy she was so she ran up to hug him, which was really nice <3 <3 Because she wouldn't want it any other way, and that moment to her is the most blissful to her <3
Why does this drama hurt so bad??? π After bai jue's talk with gu jun, i've come to understand his pain and…
Thank god, someone actually paid attention to these details, and thank you for showing me you understand Bai Jue, I am getting so sick and tired, how people keep bashing Bai Jue, and doesn't even look at how he's enduring this pain so silently. It's clearly evident he is hurting, he never want to hurt Hou Chi/Shang Gu like that. People who don't understand him should try to see things from his perspectives too.
I also like the phrase he said to her while she was unconcious after being attacked by wuxi, '' i just want you…
Yup, to me, that's a selfless love, and why it made Bai Jue loveable to me. Some people can still misunderstand Bai Jue after all this, I will never understand -.- But glad we are on the same page when it comes to Bai Jue and this pairing. Bai Jue is very loveable to me, just wish there are people who can understand him better like us (sigh)
ALP >>>>>> AOL for me (LOL). I am not a fan to AOL.TMOPB have a more fulfilling ending when compared to ALP if…
Their scenes for the 2nd couple is definitely consistent and have better chemistry. I love how far they come in the end, and it's sweet how XQX said he will do the peach make up for her, ahahah, so adorable <3
I would say yes, because he has memory of qingmu. He has to pretend to not care for her to protect her and her…
If you take this back to the time when he's Bo Xuan, you can tell that Bai Jue sees Hou Chi/Shang Gu as one soul. So they are the same to him, just under a different identity when she is reborn. Hou Chi have her own personality/conscious, because she was raised in a different environment, and also because she did not have her memories of the past, which lets her be the carefree her without being tied down to her responsibility as Chief God
Bue Jue as Boxuan, you can see how much he cared for her back then, but he kept things platonic, because he don't want her to get into a futile relationship, because of what he's planning (he's going to die anyway, so there's no point for her to get involve with a futile relationship, that will hurt her in the long run later when he's gone). I do think that Bai Jue did love her, although he already gave up on being together with her because of the paths he's taking. So that's why he kept things platonic between them.
That scene when Hou Chi stabbed Bai Jue, Tian Qi called her "Shang Gu", when she momentarily awakened, but Bai Jue still calls her "Hou Chi", so this to me, shows that Bai Jue did care for Hou Chi(being Hou Chi) at that moment, the same way Gu Jun does, even when to them Hou Chi and Shang Gu is the same.
Bai Jue didn't need memories of Qing Mu to like/care for Hou Chi, because he's cared for her, treated her kindly for 10,000 years, let's not forget that he was the one who stayed by her side and raised her, before he disappeared for the next 10,000 years. Bai Jue with Qing Mu memories, when they became one, just makes it more difficult for him, because he knows/experienced (after they became one), what he (as Qing Mu) have been through with Hou Chi, but it makes it harder for him now to push her away since originally, the whole reason he kept things platonic between Hou Chi and Bo Xuan is because he didn't want her in a futile relationship, because look at what happened now, Hou Chi is hurting (and he is too, although he is putting up an act of being indifferent about it). It was never his intention to hurt Hou Chi or Shang Gu, he just wanted her to live a happy/carefree life, and away from the danger. He was going to fulfil what he's planning silently, without Hou Chi/Shang Gu knowing, but in the end, because of what happened between Qing Mu and Hou Chi, it made it difficult for him, since he have to be cold to her, when that's not something he would want to do(if things did not become like this..)
If understand right, Bai Jue love for Houchi might be not the same for his love for Shanggu. Remember when Houchi…
When he said that, to me, it's his pretence, because the moment he came back, he already decided to not let Hou Chi be involve in 'this relationship' any deeper than she already is. To him, it's his way to cut the ties, because "a short term bliss, will lead to a long term suffering", the deeper you love/get involve with, the more hurt you will feel later, that's why he's so determined to have her break her love for him.
If you take this back to the time when he's Bo Xuan, you can tell that Bai Jue sees Hou Chi/Shang Gu as one soul. So they are the same to him, just under a different identity when she is reborn.
That scene when Hou Chi stabbed Bai Jue, Tian Qi called her "Shang Gu", when she momentarily awakened, but Bai Jue still calls her "Hou Chi", so this to me, shows that Bai Jue did care for Hou Chi at that moment, the same way Gu Jun does, even when Hou Chi and Shang Gu is the same.
He didnt know she is pregnant. I think he was to shock the main focus now is to safe her where tianqi was doing…
Can people stop saying "he just stood there and did nothing". Bai Jue would never let anything happen to Hou Chi/Shang Gu. When Wu Huan use a sneaked attack on Hou Chi, no one saw that coming, Gu Jun didn't even see it, and he was on the ground bottom. Bai Jue and Tian Qi was fighting, so they were pre-occupied. Hou Chi stopped the attack, but they both didn't saw that coming from Wu Huan, so why are you 'only blaming' Bai Jue here???
When Hou Chi fell, Bai Jue actually called out her name, and wanted to go to her, but Tian Qi was already 'saving her' on his end... And then Hou Chi revealed that she's pregnant, by saying "my child".... and Bai Jue was 'shocked', because he didn't know that she's pregnant..... This whole time you can see it in his expressions how it pains him to see her like this.. The later events lead to Gu Jun sacrificing himself to save Hou Chi, and then later, afterwards, did you forget??? Bai Jue was the FIRST one to call out her name 'Hou Chi', and he disregarded everything, his pretence that he didn't care, his indifferent, anyone who have been paying attention to those scenes entirely can see that Bai Jue wanted to save Hou Chi. He was the first to take action to flew up and wanted to save her, and then Tian Qi followed after him. It already revealed to the viewers and Wu Huan and Jing Zhao that Bai Jue is not as indifferent as he make himself to be in front of everyone.... He wanted to save Hou Chi, that much is clear. In the beginning he only wanted her to get out of that place, that's why he called for Gu Jun... Don't ask why he couldn't do it himself, and protect her, because he have his own reasons, which if you see this from his perspectives you will understand him better.
When Wu Huan did all that to Hou Chi, prior to Gu Jun arriving, pay attention to Bai Jue's hands, it turned into a fist to show his anger at Wu Huan at the situation, he even told her 'that's enough' telling her to stop, and then when that bitch Wu Huan continued with her shit, Bai Jue told her to not test his patience, because he is already angry, which lead to Wu Huan questioning why Bai Jue would get angry at this... So I am not sure about why you say that Bai Jue is just standing there and did nothing. In the end, Bai Jue showed me that he did and that he's NOT as indifferent as he make himself appear to be.
And even when Shang Gu awaken momentarily, and when she got her sword back, Bai Jue was the only one who called her "Hou Chi" still... Tian Qi called her "Shang Gu" then, this already shows that Bai Jue actually cares for Hou Chi, as Hou Chi, just like how Gu Jun came to care for Hou Chi as her own being, even when they both know that Hou Chi is Shang Gu.
So in the end, to me, Bai Jue did NOT stood there and did nothing. He did what he have to, and he joined in to save Hou Chi, and help her regain control, that already shows me, and everyone that he cares, and wouldn't let Hou Chi dies.. But when Hou Chi / Shang Gu put that sword through to him, he just stood there and let that happen, because that was his way to make it up to her for what has happened.... he could have avoided it, but he just stood there. If you just try to see this from Bai Jue's perspectives and understand his situation, he did what he did to help her. His expressions and body language already shows that he was hurting to see her like this... And he wouldn't have let Hou Chi die because he did care for her.
ALP >>>>>> AOL for me (LOL). I am not a fan to AOL.TMOPB have a more fulfilling ending when compared to ALP if…
Same here. I think most of us love the 2nd couple (XQX & QQ) over the main couple, because the 2nd couple is more consistent and better in terms of their back-story, and how they have better chemistry. It's rather ironic how most of us love the 2nd couple better when their story isn't the main, and not a lot of focus, but this goes to show that despite those little scenes, if we can love that pairing more, then it's just that loveable.
I also like the phrase he said to her while she was unconcious after being attacked by wuxi, '' i just want you…
And not to mention Bai Jue told Hongri to go to the Lower Realm to give Wuxi some spiritual power, so he can get back his human form sooner, because Bai Jue's heart was soften at the fact that they (Wuxi and Feng Yan) have to separate for that long, because thinking of how he, himself and Shang Gu have to separate for 1000 years when he told her to go to Netherworld to train, it reminded Bai Jue of Wuxi and Feng Yan, so his heart was soften because he can relate to Feng Yan and Wuxi on his end. This whole arc is a foreshadow, and things that happened/their experience are all connected and tied in with the 2nd and 3rd arc.
Which is why it's a good thing to rewatch the first arc to pick up these details you might have missed when you first watch it. It helps understand the story better as a whole T^T
ALP >>>>>> AOL for me (LOL). I am not a fan to AOL.TMOPB have a more fulfilling ending when compared to ALP if…
Have fun watching ^^, for me, I also love the second couple over the first couple. A lot of us seems to feel that way. So we are glad they got their happy ending at least.
You're right. I love the good times in God Realm. They were happy but the happiness didn't last long T.T
None of us do when we first got into the story πππ Poor Bai Jue, I felt for him then, when he blames this entirely on himself. He wanted nothing but the best for Shang Gu, her happiness, well being and safety. This is why what happened in Arc 1 builds on what happened later in arc 2 and 3.
Xu Kai says he plays 3 different characters/personalities in the show. Bai Jue; Qing Mu and Boxuan. Bai Jue is…
That's because Bo Xuan is Bai Jue behind a mask. That's Bai Jue's real personality, when he's like that towards Hou Chi at the beginning(arc 2).
The third character, I think he meant is Hei Jue, the Bai Jue in arc 3, when he have to be cold to Hou Chi/Shang Gu, which I won't get into the part about "why" he's like that, because if you watch the drama, you will know/understand why he did what he did.
Wow, i've never been so emotional to a drama. Even AOL didn't make me this emotional. The quotes and the scenes…
I don't mind a S2 and hope for a S2 too, it can focus on Tian Qi and Yuemi's reincarnation, but I want Xu Kai and Zhou Dong Yu to return to play Bai Jue and Shang Gu, to be in this sequel, since I was disappointed in the change of casts in ELOD when compared to TMOPB imo.
I think there is explanation in the novel, at least I read it somewhere here - the tribulation is over. The tribulation…
I am glad was able to enlighten you about this topic haha.
I was thinking maybe I should put all my thoughts in a blog/thread or something, since I like to refer back to on my end later when that time comes. It also helps to back track this when someone asked the same question again haha.
Anyways, it is true, that what Zhi Yang said that among the 4 of them, the Ancestral Gods care about Shang Gu the most, so she being able to get her wish granted by having Bai Jue return to her, to top it off, Bai Jue with his complete memories, is showing us that the Ancestral Gods is not that heartless in the end.
In the end, Bai Jue and Shang Gu are definitely embodied of these themes "Love & Responsibilities", this is why they are such loveable characters in the end ^^
ALP >>>>>> AOL for me (LOL). I am not a fan to AOL.TMOPB have a more fulfilling ending when compared to ALP if…
True that, we can both agree. Before this comment section, it was Miss the Dragon for me, when it was airing, but I mainly just in there for the secondary characters and the secondary pair π
I guess you can say he is, although sometimes you know when you put in so much effort to fangirl on a certain scene and if he completely ignores it and make another comment, it made it felt like I typed all that for nothing π π π (which is what happened yesterday) LOL
YUP!! So unfair!!! Although I am thankful for the Team to make an MV to put inside the CQL drama itself in the Xuanwu Cave, that part was romantic <3 <3 <3 Still the "BL moments" in Miss the Dragon between Xue Qian Xun and Longyan, those two times is so BL I can't help but LOL ππ I hope the next drama I see him in, he's not a scheming bastard again, otherwise, don't blame me for having that impression in all dramas of his in the futureπ π Because I did give him chances and chances again LOL π π I HATE what he did to Xue Qian Xun towards the end though -____-
I read comments, saying that it's the same girl, but she would probably have become an immortal/god by the end of ALP, since 503 years have passed when Bai Jue came back, so she would have cultivated and ascended to god/immortal, if that's the same girl that is in the sequel novel with Tian Qi. You mean same cast for Shang Gu and Bai Jue (not Tian Qi)? Hahaha, because Tian Qi, I believe they won't change the cast, but I am more concerned about Bai Jue and Shang Gu, if they can be featured in S2, I still want Xu Kai and Zhou Dong Yu to play in it! >.<
That's good to know that AMA have a fulfilling ending. I mean for all fans who loves/follows it, it's always nice to have a fully satisfied ending ^^ And I wasn't paying attention to the FYIS rating hahaah, but honestly for me, ALP deserves a higher rating than FYIS XDD This is coming from the person who have watched both entirely. Xu Kai in FIYS saved the pairing chemistry for me in that drama, because to be honest, I said this in another comment section also, Cheng Xiao (FL) lacks the emotions where she failed to show me she was 'in love' with Lu Si Cheng (Xu Kai's character), so at times I felt she was awkward, which makes it hard to watch. Imo, Xu Kai and Zhou Dong Yu have better chemistry (naturally) than Xu Kai and Cheng Xiao. No hate on that pair in FYIS, still like it (thanks to Xu Kai), but I don't love it, the way I do for Bai Jue / Shang Gu & Qing Mu and Hou Chi.
I am not sure if the author took part in the drama adaptation or not, but they already changed some of the scenes from the novel, so why not just give us a bit extended from that ending, although that hug is already count as an extended one, even though it's just 'by a bit'. TMOPB and ELOD novel both ended unsatisfyingly, the same way, Pillow Book (ELOD novel) is worst, because it's an open ending, and it ended with Di Jun telling his son: "I am your father", and Feng Jiu was still unconscious/in a coma, but they said she will wake up soon, so in the drama ELOD, they gave us something more, so I am like, why can't that be the same case for ALP? π π Don't get me wrong, I am thankful that Bai Jue and Shang Gu gets a hug, and Bai Jue got that hug, because he deserves it after all he's been through, but still I wanted something more lol, I will be content really, if they have Yuan Qi run up to Bai Jue and welcome him back, and the family of 3 looking at each other happily like that π because sad thing is, we never got a family of 3 of them on the same screen π If S2 happens, I sure hope that Xu Kai and Zhou Dong Yu will return to play Bai Jue and Shang Gu and they won't change casts. I love the old casts better haha. π

If you take this back to the time when he's Bo Xuan, you can tell that Bai Jue sees Hou Chi/Shang Gu as one soul. So they are the same to him, just under a different identity when she is reborn.
Which is why it's a good thing to rewatch the first arc to pick up these details you might have missed when you first watch it. It helps understand the story better as a whole T^T
The third character, I think he meant is Hei Jue, the Bai Jue in arc 3, when he have to be cold to Hou Chi/Shang Gu, which I won't get into the part about "why" he's like that, because if you watch the drama, you will know/understand why he did what he did.
I love the old casts better haha. π
