Bai Jue knows Hou Chi is Shang Gu, but Shang Gu waking up early was not part of his plan, because if Shang Gu wakes up, then it will be harder for him to keep this from her, since if she found out what happened in the past, she will take up the responsibility to sacrifice herself again, and that's not what Bai Jue wants.

Thats why he (as Boxuan) blocked her immortal body, as Houchi, but at the same time gave her the bracelet, to protect her in times of need, its his way of protecting her so she can stay out of her fate etc.

Remember in the past, Bai Jue, without knowing the whole truth thought that unblocking her immortal body so she can cultivate properly was to help her, but he was inevitably pushing her to meet her fate sooner (which was his greatest regret), so it wasn't part of his plan to have Houchi become Shang Gu this early in time, since he haven't accomplished what he planned to do on his end yet.

Maybe in the future she will awaken as Shang Gu, and he predict it will happen, when after his plan succeeded but not at this time.

Bai Jue didn't lose his memories, he knows he was Bo Xuan, he also have the memories when he was "Qing Mu". When he said he doesn't remember, it was a lie. To him, I think it is much easier to keep it from Hou Chi than compared to Shang Gu, because he went from "you look like her, but you are not her" to Hou Chi, to, "In these 60,000 years alot has changed, so is my feelings for you"(somewhere along this line) to Shang Gu. I think in these two phrases both hurts but the latter hurts more imo, and he didn't want to hurt her anymore than he have to by pushing her away.

That's why he was shocked, because Shang Gu awakening now did distorted his original plan, well, when he created Qing Mu, he didn't expect him to get together with Hou Chi either so it was not part of the original plan, I guess some things can't be helped.

You definitely should, and you won't be disappointed. Make sure its the Taiwanese version though 😝

He's pretending and is an act to push her away, because he wanted the memory she shared with Qing Mu to remain a sweet memory for her that she can one day look back to. He remembers everything that happened when he was Qing Mu, but he's hiding the fact that he remembers, and is using this memory loss as a way to push her away so she won't get hurt later when he's gone, his ultimate goal is to protect her/save her from this whole tribulation by taking her place to do it instead, so she won't go through the same heart break he felt when he witnessed 60 000 years ago when she sacrificed herself.

So when he said he doesn't remember her, it's a lie, he does remember her, because Qing Mu is him, when they became one, their memories became one. And he knows Houchi is Shang Gu, because he was the one who saved her soul back then from being the sacrifice. He only said what he said, so he can keep what he's going to accomplish away from her.

That would have been a decent outcome since I can't stand the bitch Wu Huan, but she won't be willing to sacrifice herself lol, so it won't happen in the end lol.

This is true, hence why I am rewatching this drama from the first episode again, because a part of me still miss the Bai Jue I came to love back then. But yeah Xu Kai is really talented indeed <3

From what I can understand, the tribulation/chaos only need to happen once. Originally, Xuan Yi was supposed to take that responsibility, since he was the first Chief God back then but he changed his destiny to avoid that from happening to himself, that's why he defected the heavens. No one know the true responsibility of the Chief God.

Shang Gu was then the one to take his place, as you already know, but before she succeed in sacrificing herself, it was revealed in the novel, that Bai Jue did something to stop the process, so Shang Gu don't need to sacrifice herself, but he was one step too late, since her soul was scattered in the end, that's why it feels like she was reborn again, but truth is, she never died back then.

Bai Jue wanted the Power of Chaos (that's why there's darkness in him now), is because he wants to replace Shang Gu to be the one to take this tribulation instead. Tian Qi in the novel did question why it happened again, since he thought Shang Gu have sacrificed herself back then for the peace and that's how he found out that Shang Gu never did in the past, because if she did, then it should have ended back then.

Both Bai Jue and Tian Qi have wanted the same thing, to protect Shang Gu from sacrificing herself, but they have taken different paths to achieve it. So in the end, from what I gathered from the novel, no, it only need to happen once, but because the original Chief God (Xuan Yi) changed his destiny, which he made Shang Gu the scape goat to this, and then Shang Gu back then wanted to sacrificed herself, but Bai Jue did something on his end to stop the process at that time from happening, 60K years ago, he decided to be the one to sacrifice in her place instead, but in order to do that, he needs the power of chaos which is why he is gathering the darkness into him to meet the criteria to sacrifice to protect her, and bring peace to the three realms.

I hope that makes sense lol. I did my best to explain from what I know. So after Bai Jue succeeds in sacrificing himself, there won't be a next one. Sad that this is the only way to be honest...

That back then, how heart broken it is for Bai Jue to watch Shang Gu soul disintegrating/shattering like that, yet he couldn't do anything but just watch her sacrificed herself for the peace of the 3 realms... We know in the end, he did do something, to keep her soul and save her.

In this second life, what Bai Jue is doing, and I am sure most of you are already spoiled, that Bai Jue is going to be the one to take her place instead, no, he's not going to let her know his plans that he have planned meticulously all this time... Because, it's not that he wants to be cold to her, he just didn't want her to see him, the same way he sees her being sacrificed and disappear before his eyes... He made sure she doesn't know... How did he made sure of all that? The simple way is to be cold to her, and made her think he no longer loves her, and by the time she realized, it's already too late, because he's gone.... I sure am going to prepare some tissues when that time comes, because it will be sad.

I won't hate Bai Jue, but at the same time, I just wish he didn't have to go through this alone... I also hope fans/viewers will try to understand why Bai Jue is doing this, ironically, it's not because he wants to mistreat her, but because he loves her too much. Owww.

I miss the Bai Jue from back then, I also miss Qing Mu because he is the happier side to him, that he can openly love/express his love for Shang Gu / Hou Chi T ^ T

Yeah, that's what I said didn't I? 🤣🤣🤣 and yeah, it's one heck of an emotional rollercoaster right here, but if it's an angst that leads into a touching and happy ending, I am all in it for this drama lol.

I am hoping for this too, since in the novel ending he came back and that's the end, and not very properly closed off, and this is like Ten Miles of Peach Blossom, because in the novel for that one, Ye Hua just came back and that's it, but the drama gave us an extended scene, so I am hoping it will be like Ten Miles of Peach Blossom drama, where it's an extended scene from the novel to this one, but I guess we will have to wait and see, because we don't know what the ending will be like. I need proper closure like them reconciling with each other, please give us this in the drama after all they've been through T_T

Yeah, same, even though it's going to be sad when the truth is all revealed. Let's hope the drama will give us some touching moments here as well, definitely worth the tears 😭😭😭

I am not saying the emperor doesn't, but I still don't really like him, with some of the things he's shown me. For e.g. he knows Qing Mu doesn't like his daughter, but because of what his wife said, he still have the engagement set. But that's how I see it. I don't hate him, but at the same time, I don't like him. He can sometimes be a bit blinded by seeing the truth if you're asking me. But I do hate Wu Huan on my end though...
