Yes, novel is a happy ending, and it was also spoiled the drama have a happy ending too.

I can't answer you that (and you should put it in spoilers when you reply seeing it contains spoilers), because I will need to watch those episodes to get the full context for the drama side of things. Because from what I can see there's already changes in the drama when compared to the novel.

In the novel, that is the case, and Zhi Yang did come back in the end, but for the drama, all I am saying is if they still stay true to that part, then that is going to be the case.

He agreed to marry her was a plan to have Hou Chi / Shang Gu stay away from his plan, yes it hurts her ultimately (me too.......), but if you ask me, did they really get married, in the novel, it was interrupted, not sure how the drama will have it, but I will tell you with 100% certainty that Bai Jue and Jing Zhao did NOT consummate their marriage, so to me, in the eyes of everyone they are considered married but they both know, they are not really husband and wife since their marriage was never consummated.

The reason why Bai Jue is wearing black now is symbolic that he now have the power of chaos core in him, but its not at full power yet so hes trying to cultivate to the full power to replace Shang Gu to take this tribulation instead so she can be saved. 60,000 years ago he was the one who stopped the process by absorbing this into himself, so Shang Gu soul can be saved. Both Gu Jun and "Bo Xuan"(which is Bai Jue, under a different identity) was the one who sealed her powers, so she can live a normal life, without having to carry that heavy responsibility as she did in the past to sacrifice herself for the peace of the three realms.

The reason why Bai Jue is being cold to Hou Chi(now) is not because he doesn't have memories of Qing Mu(because Qing Mu is still a part of Bai Jue, so when they became one, their memories became one), but because he doesn't want her to find out what he's planning meticulously all this time, and he doesn't want to involve her in his plans, in doing so, by not admitting he's Qing Mu is his way to not ruin the sweet memories they once shared as Qing Mu and Hou Chi (it really doesn't mean he isn't suffering silently by doing this to her though) so at least she can look back to as their happy memories, remember him under the identity as Bo Xuan was really kind to her back then, so Hou Chi was never supposed to be dragged into this plan, nor did he ever intend to hurt her like he's doing now, but because the relationship between Qing Mu and Hou Chi happened, these changes made it inevitable for him to be cold to her now, pretend he doesn't remember her so she doesn't find out what he had planned.

Shang Gu will awaken later (soon), and no Bai Jue didn't stop her, not from what I remembered, but Shang Gu waking up this early was not part of the plan either, because Gu Jun was the one who pushed the process to make it sooner to her awakening. When she's awaken, if it follows the novel, then Shang Gu won't have her memories as Hou Chi at the beginning, but later she will.

In the end, Bai Jue was able to take the tribulation for Shang Gu instead so when he sacrificed himself (if drama follow the novel), then Shang Gu won't witness him disappearing or the process the same way Bai Jue did 60,000 years ago when she "died".

All in all, yes, what Bai Jue did is not what Shang Gu would want so he didn't consider her feelings, but if you look at this both sides, back then when she sacrificed herself, its not what Bai Jue wanted either so she hurted him too, at the end of all this, I just want to further emphasize the point that, try to remember, Bai Jue did it because its the only way to save her in the end. Him and Tian Qi is the same wanting to protect her, but they took different paths, Tian Qi will sacrifice innocents to save Shang Gu, but Bai Jue will take Shang Gu's place by enduring all the pain and suffering, even if he was to be misunderstood, at least Shang Gu is saved that's what he wanted for her.

The ending is going to be a happy one, but how the drama writes their ending we have yet to see.

Yes he did but there's two sides to the coin here, you need to also understand his feelings also and him hurting her also hurt himself too because deep down he really don't want to hurt her but he did what he have to so she can be protected in the end.

I also view them as the same person, Qing Mu is Bai Jue and Hou Chi is Shang Gu, even if they have a different identity (due to they both not having their past memories), it doesn't change the fact that they are still the same person.

And yes, if the drama follow the novel Bai Jue have his complete memories, but because of what he's planning, he's pretending that he doesn't remember her, so Hou Chi/Shang Gu won't get involve with what he's planning.

Then let's just take it that we have different preferences. For me, I am not going to change my preference for the second couple > main couple. So, I will be keeping to how I feel in this review. I am not saying I don't like the bonus clip, but that bonus clip/ending for the main pair felt.... 'Surreal' to me....Honestly, if there's a lot of people who don't like the main pairing, then it really just means it's problematic for them to not like it as much. But despite they have been comparing it, it's on them, not me, I don't hate the main pair like I said, but I don't like them either (so neutral). Lastly, if you don't see them as facts, well, I did not ask for you to agree with me, so let's leave it at that.

First, I have watched it properly at the beginning to understand that much. But it doesn't mean I love what I am seeing...

Second, you need to understand that when I said it's not my cup of tea, then just respect that we each have different preferences to loving something, and wishing how some things are done better.

Third, when I wrote this review, NO I have not seen the bonus clip and FYI, that is not considered episode 36, but a 37 special clip. Episode 36 already ended as it is in the official episode air date, they made that bonus clip as way to please the fans, who felt upset about the ending for the main pair. I did see it after I wrote this review, but I decided to not comment or edit my review, since I am basing on the actual drama ending, not bonus ending.

If you love the main couple, then, good for you. In the end, there's a lot of fans who find the main pairing is not as appealing when compared to the second couple, because .... There's a reason to it. Anyways, I don't expect anyone to agree with me when I wrote this review, I write it based on my sincere feelings. I don't hate the main pair, I want them to have a happy ending too, but the special clip bonus, well, I rather it's not a special clip, but is included in the actual ending itself, since to me, that ending is only created to please the fans, but if you love it, good for you.

I will respect your opinions, and that we have different perspectives to this drama story, despite all this, I still don't entirely agree with everything you said and your interpretations, so I am sticking to my opinion and interpretations to this drama myself, for all said.

Also, I am honestly not sure why you already have access to the drama storyline, since the drama is currently still airing, and no one aside for the staff, and the actors knows how the drama is going to proceed from here on out, otherwise if it's leaks, then no one will be surprise to watch how the drama is like since it's spoiled.

This is totally worth the watch. Watch a few episodes to see if you like it. For me, it's totally worth the watch (dont let haters misguide you, and think it's not worth the time, this is a hidden gem)

That person needs help really, at this point, I am convinced that person is watching a different version to us, and is in their own delusional world.

Back then when Shang Gu body faded into pieces like that, her soul was supposed to be used as a sacrifice to end the chaos that was happening at the time, Bai Jue did something on his end, to stop her sacrifice, so she never ended up being the sacrifice herself, what remained of her was her soul that was saved, that's why it looks like she have been reborn into her new identity as "Hou Chi", but truth is, Shang Gu never died, but her real self is, you can say is in slumber for all these years.

"Bo Xuan" is actually the identity Bai Jue used to hide from the god realm, because he wanted to go along with his plan that was set the moment he stopped Shang Gu from sacrificing herself. Bo Xuan is actually Bai Jue all along. He knows Hou Chi is Shang Gu, that's why he's been staying close to her, watching over her (protecting her), until that time comes (where he is taking his plans forward). He gave Hou Chi the bracelet so she can protect herself in times of need since he knows that her spiritual body is blocked so she can't cultivate properly. Before Bo Xuan left, he told her that they will meet again once this is all over, I think that is in reference to if there's a possible chance of him having a next life, that as long as she have the bracelet with her that connects them together, he will be able to find her again (no, I don't think he is referring to Qing Mu here because Qing Mu meeting Hou Chi was never supposed to happen nor was it part of his plan), and I also do think he said that to her, they will meet again, is so she doesn't go looking for him since he wants her to stay away from what he's going to do.

So in the end, Gu Jun isn't Hou Chi's father, but all these years he's already taken that role as her father and is used to it. Gu Jun knows Hou Chi is Shang Gu.

Qing Mu is actually Bai Jue, but the him without the essence and memories of Bai Jue(since he separated it from his original body) so he can obtain the "Power of Chaos" properly for his plan to succeed. Qing Mu, is going to combine into one with Bo Xuan(Bai Jue) later where their memories also become one, Hei Jue(Hei Jue = The version of Bai Jue wearing black).

Hou Chi is Shang Gu, but without her memories of Shang Gu and the past. Her powers was also sealed, in order to protect her from her destiny. That's why Bai Jue as Bo Xuan, despite knowing about her sealed spiritual powers, he didn't help her unblock it this time, because his greatest regret in the past was that in doing so(unblocking it), he is pushing her to meet her destiny (where she sacrifice herself) sooner. He didn't want to repeat the same regret again on his end. That's also why he gave Hou Chi the bracelet so it can protect her in times of need by lending her the power temporarily to protect her, so Bai Jue(under the identity as Bo Xuan) knows Hou Chi is Shang Gu, just the her without Shang Gu's memories.

While its true that it can be avoided but it needs to happen anyway, so we can move into the final plot when he's back to Bai Jue and she back to Shang Gu, since I rather its not too rushed for the final arc that leads to their ending lol.

To me, the love between Qing Mu and Hou Chi is an extension to Bai Jue and Shang Gu love that they get to experience something like this and was made possible to them is because of the existence to Bai Jue and Shang Gu back story and their love for each other where they both, under a different identity (as Qing Mu and Hou Chi), without their burdens from their respective responsibilities and the memories of their past, can love each other openly and freely like this, this is truly a blessing for them, because I do really believe this is a life in which Bai Jue would want to have with Shang Gu on his end, if the tragedies didn't happen 60,000 years ago, so for him, at least he get to have this when he's Qing Mu instead where he can love Hou Chi (Shang Gu) freely without holding back. More honest and upfront about his feelings, when compared to his normal personality where he kept everything inside.

Anyways, what Qing Mu and Hou Chi went through, I still see it as Bai Jue and Shang Gu journey as well, since that's still them experiencing it, but they both experienced this under a different identity, free from the worries and responsibilities of their past. Although it's shortlived, so lets hope the drama ending will be fulfilling and happy for Shang Gu and Bai Jue, where they can continue their love for each other (with complete memories of their time as Hou Chi and Qing Mu), since they are one and the same
