I agree I didn't feel comfortable in that scene when he threatened that on JXS because just like JXS was intimidated by CC, I was too(kudos to TXS for bringing out that aura though).
Thats how I felt when I saw the trailer to episode 10 before actually watching the episode myself. After watching episode 10 and saw what lead up to that scene, I somehow see that scene and understood it in a different manner/light.
To me, what Chi Cheng said is a threat but he is not going to go through with doing that to JXS because he wont do anything that will hurt WSW. He knows WSW will be hurt and will hate him(CC) if he actually did it.
I felt like what CC said was more in line with his character in that sense that he can be a red flag to those he doesn't like or care for
I also felt the reason why CC was this desperate to use this threat because he knows that if anyone can break that mental block for WSW then it is JXS since WSW trusts him like his mentor(master), closest friend.
I also felt that part of CC is jealous of this bond they share because WSW is honest and confides and turn to JXS when he's in trouble or in need of his(JXS) help or guidance
This could be his little way of getting back at JXS (not saying that he actually deservd that threat), because of what played out before that scene when WSW said 'maybe' he should end things betweem them (WSW and CC), so there is a lot of emotions and insecurity playing up to that moment/scene for CC.
Not saying this to excuse him for that threat but to me that was an empty threat because I know for a fact CC is a changed man(just like what GCY said (thats why GCY wasn't worried because he knows CC well), he won't go after the person GCY love anymore because he is serious about WSW.
But for me despite I felt the same as how JXS felt in that scene but from a viewer pov, I trust and believe that CC is just empty threats and won't go through with it. What he wanted was JXS help but he is too proud to beg him for that help so he did what he normally would do, and used his threat and power to get what he wanted.
Well, that is how I personally saw it but I do understand why people is uncomfortable about that scene though.
I still love CC regardless because I like that side to him where he only shows a sweet and gentle side when it comes to WSW and different with other people.

So he never opened his heart to love anyone else again for 6 years.
When Wu Suo Wei came along, he was the second person he came to open his heart to loving him.
I believe what Chi Cheng wanted was genuine love. Not deception or betrayal.
The truth about Yue Yue being WSW ex girlfriend and that was the reason WSW plotted and got close to him at first was for this revenge, if you look at it from this angle, this will hurt Chi Cheng more because he lied to him and deceived him when he opened his heart to him and welcomed him into his heart.
So the weigh between what he thought about Wu Suo Wei getting close to him originally was because he's rich or any other reasons, he will be fine with it since he is someone who don't mind spoiling (with affection) for the person he loves, but for the real reason behind why WSW got close to Chi Cheng being the answer, all he wanted was WSW real and sincere love, not a plot to get close to him because of his ex girlfriend Yue Yue (if that makes sense).

I think it is obvious that in ep 9 that despite Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu rivalry, deep down they do still care for each other. At least from Chi Cheng side even when he doesn't want to admit it. There was a few times he can land the kick but he stopped.
I hope to see them being like close friends again. I felt like both Wu Suo Wei and Jiang Xiao Shuai is the catalyst for both Chi Cheng and Guo Cheng yu to reconcile.

Truth is, despite Chi Cheng knows its all plotting to get close to him, he doesn't care because he comes to love Wu Suo Wei this much now.
Just like what he told his right hand man, that some things even if you know, its best to not say it etc.
Although the real plot, he will find out later and that will be a heartbreaking moment 💔 not ready for that on my end.
