I wonder if the series will be as popular as The Untamed 😏
Honestly to me, it already is.
Granted, Mo Dao Zu Shi(which is the novel to The Untamed) is my no.1 fav Danmei

Just saw a video on tiktok discussing the SA in the series and just wanted to share the thoughts I had written…
Wow this is a very good analysis and you captured reasons why I love Chi Cheng and Wu Suo Wei so much is I love seeing their developments and how they developed into a couple in a healthy relationship. Ofcourse no characters starts of perfect and will have flaws but for me I love seeing characters developed and show me a different side to them towards the person they love when in a relationship.

On a side note the fact that Chi Cheng doesn't force sex on Chi Cheng after Wu Suo Wei said that to him if he does *force it*, he will never have his heart and it will only be a physical relationship between the two(no genuine love), and to me, it speaks a lot how Chi Cheng reflects on this because he cares about this relationship and also because he is (head over hills) in love with Wu Suo Wei that it is not something physical connection that he wants but an emotional one as well. It really shows that Wu Suo Wei is different to him, like he admitted to him that he have never wanted anyone so much before. This doesn't specifically mean only in a sexual manner but more of an emotional level where he wants to be with Wu Suo Wei and wants it to work out between them, that is why he is not forcing this on him, not because he can't but its because he cares about how Wu Suo Wei feels at the end of all this. This is his love for him.

Also the scene when Chi Cheng was upset and not in a good mood because it was "his" birthday(which is not someone he wants to be reminded off), and when Wu Suo Wei goes to find him, he told him to leave because he isn't in a good mood. That scene feels metaphorically that he was in a vulnerable state of mind and he asks Wu Suo Wei to leave because he didn't want him to see this side to him, that was how he felt at first but when he walks Wu Suo Wei out the door, that scene felt metaphorically that at first he closed that door on him, I like how Wu Suo Wei was expressing that he was upset in that scene because Chi Cheng wouldn't let him in, but not long later Chi Cheng opened that door and pulled him in with him, that to me feels so powerful that it shows that Chi Cheng really opens that door(his heart) to Wu Suo Wei, despite he was drunk but because he is Wu Suo Wei, he let him in(so I really love that scene on my side here).

From what I've got spoiled about the later scenes is that they make it seem like Shuai is romantically interested…
I personally would have minded because it will ruin their beautiful relationship that they currently have and be put in an unnecessary LT that I don't enjoy.

I love how JXS tease WSW about being jealous, I like their platonic bond in the drama like this.

It is offputting when characters sway between the two characters and is unclear about their own feelings, if this was in the drama like this I wouldn't have liked it this much.

So I am loving the change in the drama for this part over the novel.

Each to our own preference then

I keep seeing people in here being put off by snakes 😅

But to be honest, I'm the opposite, I don't mind snakes and I actually really like Xiao Cu Bao! Its like their(Chi Cheng and Wu Suo Wei) precious "son"(/pet). Since Xiao Cu Bao approves of WSW in the drama (and the novel). And I love how it showed WSW acknowledge Xiao Cu Bao (to JXS) as one of their own and love how he said he will never hurt Xiao Cu Bao, that's sweet ❤️

If there is one thing that I don't like is, instead of snakes it is the amount of cigarettes in this drama.. But I won't let that ruin/bother me for my enjoyment in this drama in other areas that I like.

⸻I’m reading the book right now because I don’t want to miss anything from the series or the novel.I’m…
From what I've got spoiled about the later scenes is that they make it seem like Shuai is romantically interested in WSW in the novel which is offputting. And there was also a scene where WSW kissed Shuai which I didn't like (judging from spoilers in the novel).

I actually love the master and disciple closeness being purely platonic between WSW and Shuai in the Drama over the novel in this area. They are still close to me but in a platonic sense in the drama and I enjoy that dynamic so far in the drama

For everyone’s information, there are over 700+ BL titles on MDL. If we exclude The Untamed (9.0) and The Spirealm…
Being a novel fan to MDZS which its adaptation is the Untamed, I actually love Word of Honour live action better than The Untamed on my side to be honest. But I felt like that is so underrated and not much people talk about it which is sad.

Anyone noticed the confusing translation subs? What the heck is the snake's name? Little Jealousy? Little Vinegar?…
I rather call it Xiao Cu Bao and keep it in pinying instead of translating it on my side. Sounds nicer as Xiao Cu Bao IMO when a saying it.

I mean it is a name afterall so I will keep it pinyin

I’m really so frustrated and disappointed right now after reading that thread about Xuning on the airplane.…
This is honestly why I hate those chinese crazy fans. They're not even called real fans. If they love or care for their favourite actor they will protect his private life.

If you love the actor, you want to see him genuinely happy.

That's why I stay away and avoid those news because it always makes me sad for the actor I came to love.

I hope both Tian Xu Ning and Zi Yu are both well and okay and happy respectively.

Maybe I didn’t fully understand the events, but as much as I personally *"hate"* the character of Yue Yue, I…
Yue Yue "love" for Chi Cheng is more selfish "love", because she only cares how she feels. She knows how much Xiao Cu Bao means to Chi Cheng, if she loves him then the least she could do is accept the snake or not go out of her way to kill Xiao Cu Bao.

What Wu Suo Wei did was revealing her true colours sooner rather than later.

If Yue Yue is a decent person then she wouldn't have fall into that trap on her end because she knows how much Chi Cheng cares about Xiao Cu Bao.

The difference between Yue Yue and Wu Suo Wei is that Yue Yue only cared about her feelings and will go out of her way to hire someone to kill Xiao Cu Bao after her failed attempt.

But Wu Suo Wei, despite he is jealous of Chi Cheng attention to his snakes, he will put his life at risk to save something that Chi Cheng holds dear on his end. Like he said several times, he have no plans to hurt Xiao Cu Bao. He only did it to make Yue Yue reveal her true colours. But no one is pointing a gun at her to kill the snake. That was her choice. She wanted the snake gone the moment she saw it. She only put up with it because she want to get close to Chi Cheng.

Chi Cheng used her in an attempt because he wanted to save the other snakes which was captured by his father but he also put up with her despite he didn't like her or wanted her attention.

Yue Yue is not a victim if she was the one who offered herself up willingly because all she cared about is not love, but marrying into a rich family. She doesn't love Chi Cheng but herself.

To be quite honest, I don't like Yue Yue because she really annoys me when she knows Chi Cheng doesn't like her yet she just continue to be ignorant. She knows Chi Cheng is seeing someone, but don't know who that was why she went out of her way to track his phone which was a breach of his privacy.

I don't understand people who can speak up for Yue Yue and excuses her actions to be honest because what she showed me was no victim but a scheming b*tch who just uses Chi Cheng because she wants to be a rich wife. She loves money so as long as she got that, I believe she will be more than happy to leave IMO.

People are free to feel differently though. I hated her for trying to kill Xiao Cu Bao for her own selfish reason and not caring how this will ultimately hurt Chi Cheng on her end. What do she think Chi Cheng will excuse her or comfort her for killing his snake if she succeeded? -.-

I don't feel sorry for her in the slightest because she is not a good person and only cares about herself. I am more looking forward to seeing her being put in the light where her true colours is revealed.

I agree. It's also the fact that Chi Cheng is portrayed as a cold-hearted bastard to basically everyone, and a…
I like that portrayal where Chi Cheng is a different person when he's with Wu Suo Wei, this is why I really love what he said to him in the previous episode that anyone can be mad at him but not him(Wu Suo Wei) because it is only through Wu Suo Wei that he will feel anxious if he's mad.

He is like a red flag to other people he doesn't care about but he can really be gentle and a green flag when it comes to Wu Suo Wei.

His behaviour towards Wu Suo Wei is just like any person being in love so it is not so much out of character looking in that context since only Wu Suo Wei can see this side to him where his barrier is down when compared to how he is towards those he doesn't care about.

Where did it state he was Bi? He never had any feelings for anyone aside from his Ex which is a Male, and now…
If you're looking at the norm where heterosexual is the norm here, especially in a country like China being very conservative then what was found out in that info is more leaning towards he is interested in male, not female. Since naturally people would think that opposite sex would be the norm(not saying I agree with this logic) but because Wu Suo Wei is a male, and what was found out about his past love being *you know who* and is a male than he was labelled as a Bi because of this since he is interested in male and the female part was just automatically labelled on him since its a norm, but for me personally, since he never actually had any female he considered is his lover or shows interests in any female at all, I personally wouldn't go label him as Bi unless he can show me he is interested in female the same way

But with that info gathered, I felt like they misinterpreted it because his parents wanted Chi Cheng to date a female and he was dating Yue Yue at the time which they thought that he is interested in her as well as his past relationship with his ex(which is a male) so he was labelled as Bi(when he isn't, if you know, you know)

However, as you can see he doesn't show any interest or attraction towards Yue Yue, only have been his past ex(now over) and current lover (Wu Suo Wei) and they're both Male, so...

On my side, I don't see him as Bi for all said since all I saw was the female was chasing after him but none caught his attention, he only dated Yue Yue not out of love, but because he wanted to get his snakes back from his father. If you compare how he is like between Wu Suo Wei and Yue Yue, you know who Chi Cheng loves(Wu Suo Wei) and who is more like a third wheel(Yue Yue).

I felt like Chi Cheng is more gay since when the female chase after him it doesn't catch his attention, but only when Wu Suo Wei just tried with a little effort it caught his attention and interest.

Unless he can show me he is interested and love a female the same way, I am not going to label him as Bi

But this is how I saw it from what I gathered from the drama.

You know I really like the comparison the writer shows between how Chi Cheng behaves when he's with Wu Suo Wei when compared to Yue Yue. Like they do have parallel scenes to shows us how he behaves in front of the two characters

- Chi Cheng doesn't like it or agree when his mother suggested that Yue Yue to sleep over at his place.

But Chi Cheng have actually invited Wu Suo Wei to stay the night to the point that he likes it that he will go over to his place and sleep together with him(not in a sexual way but just two people sleeping)

When he had to take Yue Yue home to his parents, his heart wasn't there as his mind was thinking about Wu Suo Wei. When he actually go out of his way to go over to Wu Suo Wei place and had dinner with Wu Suo Wei's mother, you can see he was totally in the situation when compared to how he took Yue Yue home to his place.

When Yue Yue wanted to spend more time with Chi Cheng, he asked for his driver to drive her home, where he left it for his driver but for Wu Suo Wei he is more than happy to escort him back to the clinic despite Wu Suo Wei said he doesn't need to, and he replied he wanted to on his end.

The scene when Yue Yue was looking at jewellery etc, and when she finally decided on the one she wanted, Chi Cheng just passed her his credit card to buy the gift herself, yet when he walked out the store and saw the squishy stress toy that reminded him of Wu Suo Wei, he would actually personally buy this himself because it reminded him of the person he loves.

And lets not talk about the phone calls when Chi Cheng was eagerly waiting for a call from Wu Suo Wei, and when he finally got that call, he was happy yet any call from Yue Yue will just be like businesslike for him

There's so much more ofcourse but this is just to list a few, I really love that Chi Cheng doesn't show any interest in Yue Yue in the slightest because it shows me he is whole heartedly devoted to Wu Suo Wei and loves only him. So I am loving the parallel and comparison so far when it comes to Chi Cheng love for Wu Suo Wei, he's so deeply in love with him, it's so endearing and sweet to see.

I love this series, there is one thing im confused by and also would make more sense. I remember in the first…
Where did it state he was Bi?

He never had any feelings for anyone aside from his Ex which is a Male, and now Wu Suo Wei (another male). So that is for me leaning towards same sex unless he can show me he is interested in someone who is the opposite sex.

Also, on the contrary, unlike you, for me, I am actually glad that Chi Cheng doesn't have any interest in Yue Yue and he shows me the difference on how he treats her when compared to Wu Suo Wei because that at least shows me he is devoted and one hearted and his love for Wu Suo Wei is unwavering.

Yeah I will still go to Viki a few days later when they released the episodes for Revenge love and watch from there as well since I already subscribed and also to support the view counts.

I also am loving the comment section in here so far minus those who just comment to ruin or are attention seekers that is.

Oh I didn't saw those comment from viki, but those type of people who announce they are leaving the show is just seeking for attention to bring down the drama which is very annoying.

They honestly really have nothing to do in their life to go and ruin it for other people's enjoyment.

I subscribe to Viki as well but since they're usually late on the release in episodes, I watched mines on Youtube instead.

The way they make it seem when they make comments like that yet they still watch the drama feels like they are those type of people who like to bring down the rating...

Lol i knew what was occuring and I found that scene so hilarious because Chi Cheng was thinking about this, why Wu Suo Wei misunderstood and worrying about something else entirely 🤣

I get there are other "scenes" that was brought up a few times in here that puts people off... but it you cannot ignore those negative scenes and focus on the other enjoyable scenes then honestly no one is pointing a gun at you to watch this drama.

If you are put off by certain scenes and actions from the characters then there are other dramas for you to watch and enjoy.

If you stay and watch up to the latest episode then we can assure you there are sweet moments and character developments.

But if you are closed off from accepting anything positive on what this drama has to offer then, once again, feel free to leave. No one is stopping you.

I honestly don't understand why people are watching something they don't enjoy or hate. For me, I will already quit and watch something else if the drama puts me off, but this drama certainly isn't one of them since I am eagerly waiting for the next episode. One episode isn't long enough imo.

[QUOTING]"And the ML is a walking Red flag, first episode and he ordered for another guy to be graped??? Then…
If you keeps harbouring into that "scene" then this drama is not for you.

You can move on and watch something else since judging by your comment you seem to be focusing on "that scene" and his character being introduced that way have put you off in the overall enjoyment...

I said all I needed to in my previous comment, making a point already, which I'll say again: "Those who continue to watch this drama is not someone who agree with what took place in that ganger*pe at the beginning, but we just understood the context what lead to that scene for it to happen because of what that person did to him. Not that we don't agree there is a better, healthier way to handling the situation, but what's done is done, why hold on such feeling and let it ruin the entire drama?"

No matter if its male or female, it doesn't change because I also felt that scene was a bit too far by the writers but it was to follow his characterization in the novel(from what I gathered) and I have already said, despite there are things I don't agree with, and felt it could be done better but I personally am not going to let those scenes ruin the entire drama for me since I am enjoying the drama in the other areas on my side here.

I actually love that scene towards the end of ep 8 because despite Chi Cheng was scolding him, but he only did it because he was worried about Wu Suo Wei and how he risked his life like that.

The fact that Wu Suo Wei was smiling when Chi Cheng was saying shows he actually liked seeing him like this, well he literally admitted this himself lol. He likes seeing Chi Cheng worry about him.

That whole scene was really sweet, how Chi Cheng showing Wu Suo Wei his life matters to him and he finally said it, he said to Wu Suo Wei that he likes him, and he will still like him even if he's not doing anything, all he wanted was for Wu Suo Wei to not get hurt because he will worry for him.

Despite Wu Suo Wei was injured but this was the reassurance he wanted to see on his side. I actually like the way he smiled like that, shows he really have fallen in love with him and I also love how comfortable he is now in Chi Cheng embrace.
