I wish all the three dramas Ancient Love Poetry, The Last Immortal & Moonlight Mystique were produce by same company…
Despite they cannot referenced his real name "Tianqi" in MM, but FYI, Jing Yuan, Fan Yue and Mumu are all canon names to Tianqi in the Novel.
Jing Yuan was the name Tianqi go by in the novel when he stayed in the Demon Realm(during those times) in the Parent Story(Shang Gu Novel).
In ALP, Tianqi was known as Jing Yuan when he stayed in the Demon Realm after her was "killed" by Bai Jue.
Fan Yue and Mumu was his name when he was going through his tribulation with Bai Shuo in the Novel.
So I still felt this was cleverly done better in the drama MM when compared to TLI where they changed Shang Gu, Bai Jue's and Feng Ran(and other characters in ALP verse) name, by changing their names which makes it hard to connect to. And we know why they cannot use Yuemi's name in MM so that was changed in the Drama
And to answer your question, Lunar Hidden Sea is not the Nether Realm. Lunar Hidden Sea was the place where Xing Yue cultivated in. I guess if you are to look at this like a parallel comparison, it is similar, since Shang Gu cultivated in the Nether Realm to get stronger through power of chaos, and in the Drama(MM) Xing Yue cultivated in the Lunar Hidden Sea to get stronger on her end but those two are completely two different places. But I saw one is Light(Lunar Hidden Sea) and one is Dark(Nether Realm).

I didn't have anything wrong with those colours and me and my friend(my friend never watch those chinese dramas before) said the visuals is very pretty and high quality.
I am laughing at how other comments in here from people saying MM is predictable when MM is a story that took a fresh turn from the overused trope from other xianxia genre.
I am not sure where haters get the idea that the ML have a stoic face lmao, because clearly he has these expressions but the fact that people can still say that in here shows me they did not pay attention to the scenes correctly lmao.
Well a hater is always a hater and their comments no matter what they say just doesn't make sense to me aside from the fact they come in here to comment it to hate on this drama.
Is there better english subtitles for this drama? I'm missing a lot of dialogue when a song plays during dialogue,…
If you watched this in the official channel (app) the it eliminates the issue because the english translation to the song is above the English subs of the dialogue.
I wasn't going to originally, since I don't want to sound like a Novel hater, because I am not a novel hater, but I just enjoyed the Drama better and reading the Novel actually made me love/appreciate these changes to the Drama because it was done right.
Definitely a great scriptwriter in my eyes!
And I will also add that link thread topic to my review in here as well (for personal reference)
Commented this previously, here it is again for you:
"To sum it up, MM is one of a kind xianxia where it doesn't follow the usual tropes of other xianxia in terms of toxic relationships. The main pairing, when they finally become a couple, they really communicates with each other and avoids any misunderstanding. They are a healthy relationship, so if you're looking for a fresh take and you are open minded to accepting this being done differently for the main pairing who goes through obstacles together and avoids any unnecessary misunderstanding then you can give this drama a go.
The other side character all have their own arcs to shine and their story have also touched many viewers as well.
I(we who rated it high) do love MM on our side here!
In the end its up to you whether you want to watch it or not. But if you do watch it hope you will like enjoy MM too just like most of us in here!"
This is gonna be my last reply to all the baseless criticism. Please shift to wattpad romances. Dramas with good…
Their hate and comments makes absolute zero sense to me!!! I felt like at this point, they just comment for the sake of spreading hate and NOT understanding the story at all!
If they like TOXIC relationship, then hope toxic relationship will find them one day if that is what appeals to them!
The novel is really dragging this on when she is not being clear about it...Heck I am up to chapter 74 and she's…
Finding the 5 contemplations is something that was changed in the drama. This didn't happen in the novel.
There is no 5 contemplations like in the drama.
But the LL and RX tragic backstory did happened in the novel(although I kinda just skim past that arc in the novel). The Fox arc when Mu Jiu wanted to marry Tian Huo is in the novel too
Mu Jiu is also more useful in the novel when compared to the drama. At least in the novel he was stronger and can actually fight.
The novel have it where Fan Yue and Bai Shuo is separated for the most part and it is only when he was Mumu is when they get to share those times together.
It is when it is almost towards the end is when they spend time together as Fan Yue and Bai Shuo...
And in terms of getting together officially as a couple where they confess was in the final chapter. After that confession, not long later, the battle between Fan Yue and Chong Zhao happened. Just when Fan Yue was about to win, he died in Bai Shuo's hands(because she was being controlled...) to save Chong Zhao....and then when she found out what she did, she killed herself. That ended their tribulation and they return to being True God Tianqi and High Goddess Yuemi. Yuemi and Shang Gu met again and they had that talk where Shang Gu asked her if she is really not wanting to see Tian Qi again. She replied Shang Gu saying in her tribulation, he died by her hands, which had settled all debts between them so they're now even and there's no need to hang onto them anymore. Shang Gu misunderstood what she meant here. She then said that this fate of tribulation was written for her so she needed to go through that fated tribulation as Bai Shuo for her to be able to return to her former identity.
Before Yuemi left to go to the lower realm, she turned back and said to Shang Gu that if Bai Shuo is her tribulation, then perhaps it is not so bad afterall. Then she disappeared to the lower realm. Tian Qi arrived shortly afterwards because he wanted to see her again. When he found out she was gone and left to go to the lower realm, he was sad(and disappointed at the same time) where he said that not even when she came back that she want to see him again. Shang Gu revealed Yuemi's last words to him before she left for the lower realm telling him what Yuemi said that she didn't mind being Bai Shuo hinting that she didn't dislike those times as Bai Shuo when they're together. This gave Tian Qi hope and he left for the lower realm to find her. In the end, he found her in the lower realm, and it was implied they will be together but to me it didn't feel satisfying with this ending leaving me wanting more. It was an open ending in the novel. Although I know it is implied they'll be together but this is all offscreen. I didn't get much of their cp time for the most part in the novel as an official Cp, so with this ending, it left an unsatisfying taste in my heart.
So for me, I love the drama better in this area. Sure Jing Yuan and Xing Yue is no more, but I already stated my feelings how I feel about this ending in the drama in those thread topics. In the drama I appreciate the changes how it showed that Fan Yue and Bai Shuo can work through things together like a healthy couple and they have that mutual trust and mutual communication once they're a couple. I love that in the drama. In the novel, Fan Yue did a lot for Bai Shuo but in a roundabout way that she didn't know about it until those time comes. And Bai Shuo is seen risking her life to go to Chong Zhao helping him and protecting him. Instead of having Chong Zhao move on and focusing on that romance between him and Fu Ling, it felt it was always Fu Ling unrequited love for Chong Zhao ....so that was a minus appeal in the novel for me...
In the Novel, there was no Bai Ze Clan, no Qi Feng/Chen Ye like how the drama has it.
While there was no collection of the 5 contemplation in the novel, but Fan Yue needed to collect the Divine (Bodhi) wood to get rid of the seven souls burning star on his chest so he can regain his original divine being(regain his memories).
Like I said there are changes in the drama but those changes to me showed a sense of togetherness between Fan Yue and Bai Shuo working together as a team and they trust each other. Whereas in the novel, while Bai Shuo still cared for Mumu, she didn't make it clear for Fan Yue how she felt for Chong Zhao, clearing this whole drag of an LT until that time when they finally confessed (such a drag...).
The unappealing thing for me is Novel Bai Shuo had shown Fan Yue she is willing to disregard her own life to save and protect Chong Zhao. She made a promise to Mumu saying she will never abandon him but during the outlander arc she had shown him with her actions (and she know she broke that promise) that she is willing to die to go and save Chong Zhao. Fan Yue was hurt with this action of hers for a long time. I don't blame him. Whereas in the Drama remember the scene when Fu Ling made Drama Bai Shuo choose between the two, back then we thought she will choose Chong Zhao, but in the drama she surprised us in a pleasant way when she chose Fan Yue. That was a plus appeal for us in the Drama. A changed done right in the drama!
I am not so fond of Bai Shuo's character in the novel for all said. I preferred her character being changed like in the drama for me personally.
So in the end while there are changes in the drama but they still kept these references in the novel but changed it a little to fit the drama plot. Bai Shuo in the drama can protect herself but in the novel she needed Mumu or Fan Yue's protection during those situations. She still does refine medicine and is smart in her own way but how she was written like that in the novel is not that appealing to me.
Overall, I felt like the drama uses these references from the novel and made these changes that fixed what I didn't like in the novel. This is why I said after reading the novel, it actually made me appreciate the drama more because I love how the drama fixed the things I didn't like now that I've read the novel. Not saying this to sound like a novel hater, I just prefer the Drama over the Novel and while the Novel did have some enjoyable moments I like but the bad(unappealing points) overshadowed the good things in the novel for me, so I am not a Novel fan despite I love Tian Qi/Fan Yue and the pairing Tian Qi and Yuemi on my side here.
I've seen half of LOTDT (around 24 + last 2 episodes). I can say that Fan Yue would win. SYS had already turned…
Your comment implied it when you wrote that response by judging two dramas and comparing it like that without understanding the situation.
If you cannot respect that the situation presented to the characters in this drama vs LOTDT, then you should not be asking in here saying what you said.
I've seen half of LOTDT (around 24 + last 2 episodes). I can say that Fan Yue would win. SYS had already turned…
I don't think it's fair to judge Fan Yue for being weak if you truly understood the situation presented to him.
As Fan Yue, he managed to cultivate himself to that level, and make a name of himself in just a few years. His cultivation to get stronger didn't come without a price because the backlash of him rushing to get stronger earned him the Seven Souls Burning Star, which each time it is activated, he will have to go through the torture that really, will hurt him in the worst way possible. He has Jing Yuan's Divine Mantle, but he didn't get his memories until when he got his purple eyes back, which was when he started to see flashbacks of his past (as Jing Yuan).
Fan Yue was born with the Demon God's Jing Yuan Divine Mantle, but he doesn't have his Divine/God Powers, until that time comes(which was very late in the drama), but all this time, for the entirety of the Drama, Fan Yue still has proven himself to be strong in his own way, to the point that others fear him as "Fan Yue, the Demon King of the Polar Region, Bright Moon Palace", he made a name of himself in such a young age too.
When Jing Yuan left Fan Yue with his Demon God Powers, it was revealed in the drama provided with an explanation that Fan Yue has exhausted his powers to create the Purple Moon Barrier...
Let me try to put this into perspective for you.
Both Jing Yuan and Mo Li are equal in God Powers. They both cannot defeat each other that was explained several times in the story. If they go into a battle(both at full power) it will end in a draw. This was further emphasized when Jing Yuan came back 60,000 years later in Fan Yue's body that Mo Li understood this very well (they are equal in power), this is why Mo Li did not ambush or attack Bright Moon Palace because of the presence of Jing Yuan.
Mind you, the english translation did not translate it correctly, they are both God, NOT Lord(some immortal), God is above an immortal level. The word used in Chinese is 神, this is why I didn't like how MM translated to Lord when anyone who understood the language knows it means "God".
Why do you think Mo Li captured those immortals on his end? Did you think he did it for fun? He did it for a reason and that is because he know that by doing so, this can push Jing Yuan in using his powers to protect those people, because one way or another he would do it to stop Mo Li. Ofcourse by that time Jing Yuan is no longer there anymore, so when he left his God Powers to Fan Yue, Fan Yue used his Purple Moon that created the barrier that expand the radius of hundreds of thousands of miles in the polar region. Mind you, this is hundreds and thousands of miles in the Polar Region, and Divine powers is NOT limitless. This was explained that it will exhaust his Divine Powers. This is what Mo Li wanted.
Fan Yue had this Purple Moon Barrier up for days, so he didn't really have that time to recover his divine powers yet the purple moon barrier is still up. And what did Mo Li did? He used all those human sacrifices to break Fan Yue purple moon barrier because those human sacrifice are extremely Yang while Purple Moon is Extremely Yin, when the human blood sacrifice(being yang) succeeded in destroying the barrier, it infused with the Purple Moon(being Yin). This accomplished what Mo Li wanted because he know by doing so, it will (1) break the barrier and (2) create an inner force conflict of clashes between the Yin and Yang , which can further hurt Fan Yue in the process. This is Mo Li's sinister move against Fan Yue.
So let's summarize this, Fan Yue was already exhausted using up most of his powers to put up that purple moon barrier extending to that big radius which was explained that it was consuming up most of his divine powers to keep the barrier up, and then it was revealed that all this time(when his purple moon returned to him), the Yin and Yang was having an inner conflict clash that counter each other so he was enduring all this(within him, that made it harder for him to recover), yet during this time he still have the power within him to still fought against Mo Li, although this wasn't really a fair fight to begin with because Mo Li was in full powers whereas Fan Yue wasn't (and you know why if you paid attention to the story). Despite this, he still have enough Divine powers within him to take the others away from Mo Li in a dangerous situation.
Honestly, when you take all this into consideration, can you not understand that spiritual powers are NOT limitless. If Mo Li goes through the same situation (obviously he didn't, and he was taking advantage of the situation), he will exhaust his powers too...
Also if Mo Li is stronger than Jing Yuan/Fan Yue, he wouldn't have waited and wouldn't have used a sinister move to weaken Fan Yue first. This shows Mo Li is yes, smart, but also a coward at the same time. He didn’t dare to face off against him if they were both at full powers. Mo Li is not stronger than Jing Yuan if this was a fair fight. Once again, let me remind you, they are both God Level, not Immortals or Lord... This is two Gods facing off each other, Not two Lords facing off each other, that is the difference you need to take into consideration when comparing the characters between the two dramas MM vs LOTDT.
With that all being said, it is understandable why it played out this way because it is not like it was a fair fight and Mo Li knows this and is taking advantage of the situation, so he got that upper hand in that battle.
So for anyone who understood the situation, they wouldn't have said what they said about Fan Yue here or judge him harshly for being weak or inferior. I dare say that if Mo Li went through that situation and Fan Yue exploit that to his advantage (the way Mo Li does), then the situation will be reverse. But if Fan Yue is like Mo Li, then Bai Shuo wouldn't have love him the way Xing Yue love Jing Yuan. This only puts emphasis on how much better Fan Yue/Jing Yuan is when compared to Mo Li.
Also people need to understand the situation or at least try to before judging the character because Divine Powers may be strong but they are not limitless, if you exhaust it, then it will hurt you in that sense..
Omg I watched this live stream before but only now, did I figured out that ARP protected Bai Lu from drinking from the cup that has something wrong with it.
So the 4 cups from the top to the bottom, the 2nd cup is the one that has something wrong with it.
At first ARP said that whoever loses will be the 'last' one to get the cup.
The order of the cup is to work your way up from the bottom.
At first the rule was the winner will be the one who will get the first cup, starting from the bottom and work your way up. So when Chang Hua San was the first to lose, he was meant to get the first cup starting from the top, so when Bai Lu ended up losing the second round, she was meant to get the second cup from the top, that's why she said "Ah", because the second(from the top) was the one that has the problem and she was meant to get that cup. She had accepted the result, but then ARP changed the rules here, he said whoever loses, will be the 'first' to get the cup.
He changed from whoever loses to be the 'last' to get the cup to whoever loses will be the 'first' to get the cup, so this is why DLW said that CHS was the first to lose, so he got the first cup from the bottom, and then Bai Lu getting the second cup from the bottom.
ARP saved Bai Lu from drinking from the cup that has the problem, which leads to a 50/50 chance and he lost the 3rd round to DLW so he took the 3rd cup from the bottom up, which was the cup that was meant to be for Bai Lu at first. If he didn't change it to whoever loses will be the first to get the cup, then the result will be very different. Omg, I LOVE ARP FOR PROTECTING BAI LU FROM THIS!! 😍😍😍 I FELT SORRY FOR HIM TOO SINCE IT FELT LIKE IN THAT WHOLE LIVE STREAM HE KEEP having that bad luck in getting the unlucky one 🥲. That round he wouldn't have lost because he saved Bai Lu from drinking from that cup by changing the rules 💘💜
In the end the 50/50 chance and he ended up taking the cup that was meant to be for Bai Lu 🤣🤣 (i mean a 50/50 chance, but he still got that cup 😂😆) Link: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/14kbYQ6bPU/

So no, its not draggy, this was done soooo much better than the novel...
ARP and BL just have that natural chemistry that appealed to many fans in this(ignoring the haters in this though)

Those who said Fan Yue is weak truly do NOT understand the story and context of the story presented to them.
Such a shame that we can watch the same thing but interpret or understand things so differently!

The interviewer question was to have ARP and BL say something to each other for the 1 year later.
BL to ARP: I hope that in one year later you will be this happy like you are today.
ARP: Thank you, I have not said mines yet but just thanking you first
BL: You can say, go ahead
ARP: Okay, I am being serious now, I also hope that in one year later, you will be-
BL: This happy like I am today? 🤣
ARP: How did you know? 🤣
BL: Because I already predicted you will say this 😂
ARP: Don't you want to(be this happy)?😂
BL: I really want to 😂
ARP: So do I 😂
I love them so much, wishing them always this happy! 💜💘
The way they laugh brings out something positive and makes me laugh along with them in a happy way🤣
So the 4 cups from the top to the bottom, the 2nd cup is the one that has something wrong with it.
In the end the 50/50 chance and he ended up taking the cup that was meant to be for Bai Lu 🤣🤣 (i mean a 50/50 chance, but he still got that cup 😂😆)
