Yes, she's in that position to make the deal because the desireless stone already acknowledged her as the master(without spoiling the details why), whenever Bai Shuo life is in danger the stone will activate to protect her and will hurt the other party, as you already saw what happened when Fan Yue tried at first, so technically as long as the stone is in her, the stone will protect her from any danger. So she does have her say in making this deal since Fan Yue needed to gather the 5 contemplation to activate the stone's power for his reasons, and the only one who can activate this is Bai Shuo herself.
Don't relate this back to Tian Qi and Yuemi backstory. Treat this like a standalone since the backstory is different in MM.
But for me this change in backstory in MM was done for the better on TianQi's side . I won't be spoiling further for you. You will see when you watch on.

Except you missed out the crucial part that it was revealed and confirmed that those characters can come back so that gives room for a hopeful happy ending for them in the story(offscreen)

I am surprised CY made it to that list, especially when there's other characters that is worst.
Tbh, I didn't think I would like CY too, at least not at the beginning, but when his backstory was revealed(which I won't reveal the details), it is hard to not feel sorry for him if you try to see this from his perspective.
Hatred was what he held onto surviving till this stage because of the environment he grew up in because he cannot forget about the past and what happened. He keeps saying he hated FY and wanted to kill him, but if you look past it, it is like what BS said, he doesn't hate FY the way he (himself) thought he did, nor did he want to kill him.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have expressed those emotions when he met FY again.
I honestly don't hate CY on my end. As a matter of fact, a part of me can say that the stone clan holds some blame in this for digging up the graves like that. And what CS did to CY back then... was just sad despite he lost control, it didn't change the fact that he played a big part in contributing to CY pain and suffering.
I am not saying that what CY did in the stone clan is justifiable, I am just saying there's no distinct black and white or right and wrong. If we tried to see this in CY pov and his feelings it is not hard to understand his feelings or feel sorry for him, considering what he went through and all that he endured on his end. His hatred is actually valid for anyone who have been through the same thing as him
But even going through all that, I don't think he ever hated or want FY dead the way he make it out to be. I believe deep down underneathe this "hatred" he clings to, he cares for FY deep down.
He is redeemable in my eyes and he did redeem himself in the end for me.

This was what I mean when I express how I feel about xianxia in my review, some xianxia may start off good but it didn't follow through to the end for me as the later half can ruin it if they go that path that is less appealing.
It was sad seeing how The Blossoming Love was among one of those dramas I've been waiting on to air before it airs.
