Compared to all the Xianxia dramas I've watched before, the main pairing in MM has a lot of kiss scenes where I actually lost count on my end (and when I said I lost count, I meant it in a good way), and they have intimate scenes where they are not afraid to express their love once "that" time comes. I love how they express their love and display of affection for each other in this. They have an amazing chemistry that gives a natural feeling and not awkward.
Like I said they are the most healthiest couple I've seen and their love for each other has proven to me they can overcome many obstacles and they stayed strong and trust each other to the end. They are a prime example of what makes a healthy relationship.
Their are angst ofcourse but those angst just leads into a touching moment for me so I personally love that.
They didn't start off liking each other though but it is through the journey and developments that you see how they come to love each other makes it all the worth it when that time comes.
The kiss scenes is one of the best I've seen, and I can feel their love in those scenes when I watch it on my end.
You should just watch it and give this drama a chance. I recommend this and you won't regret the journey in the end because you are rewarded with one of the most satisfying ending for the main pairing that makes it all worth it in the end.

Despite I said that in my original comment, I also am satisfied with what we got and made me appreciate every moment of what we were given in the God Arc.
I'm just saying since the Bodhi Village is my least fav arc for reasons I won't spoil but I am sure we all feel the same, I just think maybe they can reduced 5 episode focus in Bodhi to 4 and then add this 1 episode to the God arc so we have some more screen time between Jing Yuan and Xing Yue is what I meant.

This is not a last minute happy ending for the main.
This is a happy ending WITH dialogue and interactions between the main lead and we got something extra at the end in the epilogue. In my opinion this ending for the main is a much better ending than those last minute happy ending that doesn't give explanation how it happened, them just staring at each other, no interactions or dialogue like those typical last few seconds or last minute happy ending.
MM was done better in this area because MM ending actually gave me back that hope that Xianxia CAN have a happy ending where the main can talk, interact and then we got something more which I wont spoil it for you...
In my opinion it is your choice whether you watch it or not but if you dont watch it and see for yourself, then you're missing out on this great xianxia and this story, because for once we got a pairing that actually communicates and avoid misunderstanding, we got a pairing that works through these obstacles together. They are by far the most healthiest main pairing I have seen in all my years of watching xianxia.
To me all the angst that happened was worth it by that satisfying ending I got out of this drama story at the end!
Recently watched an interview where ARP said how he wanted Jing Yuan and Xing Yue to have more time spent together in the God Realm. Bai Lu was teasing him and said they spent 100 years together, and his reply to her was "then add a few more years after that to spend time together" ahaha. I actually agree with ARP. I also wish the god arc was longer. I mean we can take away an episode or two in the Bodhi Village arc(since we all don't like that arc 😅) and add this towards the God arc since I am with ARP, I also wish we had more for the God Arc 😭😭
But for those that we've got, I already loved their backstory(especially Jing Yuan).

Fan Yue was the first to come back because it was Heaven way of apologizing for her actions back then for forbidding Xing Yue(Bai Shuo's past life) in loving Jing Yuan(Fan Yue's past life), so it was her way of making things right for them in this life, since Bai Shuo had shown Heaven that she did not need to become Xing Yue again and be tied down with these heavy responsibilities to protect the world, but it was her great love in the end who was able to destroy the hidden heart in this life which Xing Yue back then wasn't able to(this was because Heaven's way of thinking was wrong for not letting Xing Yue have these emotions of love).
How Fan Yue can come back is similar to how I feel about how Bai Jue can come back at the end of ALP.
To me this is a happy and perfect ending(and it makes sense), through Heaven's way of explaining, at least they put in the effort to explain how it could happen.
Fan Yue and Bai Shuo got their happy, satisfying and conclusive ending in this life time which makes up for their past regret as Jing Yuan and Xing Yue.
The other's side characters who sacrificed for the great cause were revealed in the ending and confirmed in the extra epilogue they can come back, and both Fan Yue and Bai Shuo is waiting for that day to come.
The writers really didn't need to put that extra part in for the side characters but the fact that they did, gives us a hopeful happy ending where they can come back so I took that as a happy ending for the side characters.

I love this side to her to be honest. Because I felt like subconsciously how she felt in her past as Xing Yue had deeply rooted into her soul that she just wants to walk her own path and follow her heart and feelings this lifetime. This is why, she said she is not Xing Yue, not because she doesn't accept this is her in her past life, but I see it more like in this lifetime, she only just wants to be herself and live her life as Bai Shuo. And Fan Yue, he have said that before he "dies" he wished for her to be free and happy (I felt like this mirror back to her past that she never had that freedom on her end as Xing Yue to follow her heart and wishes etc).

I love all the outfits actually, but if I have to pick one then it is probably the at the end of episode 40( because its a mix of JY and FY that I love, black and dark purple. Not to mention the purple shades of his hair, he looks so mesmerizing for me in that scene ahaha 😍😍😍

You know I don't think Jing Yuan ever hated Xing Yue. And I bet during those times when he was in seclusion for the 3 years, there hasn't been a day where he doesn't think about Xing Yue(or misses her), that part when we saw Jing Yuan looking up at the moon (in those 3 years), he was thinking about Xing Yue on his side. He looks so sad too.
I actually blamed Heaven for their tragic end tbh... since if it werent for heaven, then they could have gotten that happy ending, but then... if they have gotten that happy ending in the past then we probably wouldn't have gotten a love journey for Fan Yue and Bai Shuo that we come to love in the end in the present time.
I like to see that while their ending was tragic in the past but Jing Yuan and Xing Yue both lived on in Fan Yue and Bai Shuo in their next life.
