For someone who have watched its parent story, ALP. I personally came to really love Ao Rui Ping portrayal as Fan Yue/True God Jing Yuan(would be "Tian Qi", if they didn't change the name in the drama).

It was briefly touched on in the early episodes whenever he was severely injured, and when that happens, the stars lights out and this was then explained in Ep 14 trailer, that he have two more chances(as the stars on his chest), if it completely lights out then he will "die". So he have 2 chances left.
So this is more like a countdown for him that he has 2 chances left and I think it will eventually lead to him "dying" for him to be able to fully awaken and return to being True God Jing Yuan.

In the opening and ending when you see him with that mark on his forehad, that is Jing Yuan(also).
I also noticed through the clips I've seen of Jing Yuan, he has a tinge of purple in his outfit and hair as well.
