Finally a drama in 2024 that has a decent, conclusive happy ending, and not just the last minute or few seconds happy ending OR a bad ending as I've seen so far in 2024.
I really wish writers will attempt to give us these type of happy endings where after you watch it you will feel satisfied with a smile on our face.
Overall, I enjoyed this drama, even when I am not so into republican themes.
I love the ML, he's handsome and very good with expressing his hurt and emotions through his eyes and the way how he kissed the FL is very hot and passionate.
I also love the 2nd ML as well and I was hoping he won't get killed off and will get his happy ending, so I am glad that he didn't get killed off and get his happy ending too.
A drama I will definitely remember and rewatch again on my end!
Thank you to this drama, despite it being a short drama, but still needs to thank you for giving an ending that breaks the stupid trend in 2024 for aall it's bad endings that I've seen this year. With this drama marks the end of 2024 for me since its 31st Dec here so.... hopefully 2025 will bring forth a better year with endings that ends in a more happier note when compared to 2024
Recently started watching this drama and I am up to episode 16.
If I am going to sum up my feelings so far is... Mo Qing and Gu Sheng needs to stop being too polite to each other to the point they are shy where it leads to the feeling of awkwardness between those two.
I mean one example is in episode 16, when Mo Qing got her the mosquito cream, she also noticed that Mo Qing have some mosquito bites on his arm, but in her mind she was like "Is it not good for me to directly apply the cream on him"? Like come on. This is what I mean, they're already dating yet she's still to shy and "too polite" around him. I'm sure he wouldn't mind because he loves her but Gu Sheng(FL) way of showing these situations makes the pairing awkward to me.
It's like they are dating but they're like strangers and too shy or polite which makes the atmosphere awkward around them. Almost like there's an invisible barrier.
My main issue is with the FL... I mean I know Zhou Ye can do better since I've seen her act with great emotions in WOH and BFTB before but her character in this story is just really bland to me that makes me lose interest....
I think the ML(Mo Qing) is doing a good job trying to make it less awkward with his input but the way the FL(Gu Sheng) is acting is not making it enjoyable for me despite I want to continue and see her get out of this shell and start to not be "too shy or polite" since they are dating in the story afterall

It's too bad we will never find out the truth about what happened behind the scenes. I mean, it's not like the actor can say what actually happened etc, and honestly, I really hated the production team and Direction on the drama at the end. I feel so sorry for CXX since his character definitely deserves happiness in the story!!!
This is why I also hate IQIYI (not a fan of them) since their drama ending really disappointed me, not just this one, but from other previous drama as well!!

I didn't watch much dramas in 2024 to be honest, but at least in 2024 there is one drama "My Boss" that has a happy ending. Personally I'm glad it has a happy ending in that one at least because that was a good therapy for me after this ending....

In short, Xing Zhizhi was kidnapped by bandits in Suman, and was presumably killed offscreen, as he went missing for a long time, there are hints which heavily implied he's dead........
And Qin Fei developed the same mental illness which Xing Zhizhi finally recovered from, but then because Shi Ruo Min have a role in writing this script -_- he decided to add a random plot/scene that absolutely makes NO sense to kill Xing Zhizhi off-screen, without giving us a clear explanation what happened to him, but those who followed the drama properly, knows that it is heavily implied he's dead...
Qin Fei in the end, is living on this "beautiful" lie, deluding herself that he's still alive.... Because she's seeing illusions of him (that he's still there with her).....
The thing is, Xing Zhi Zhi worked so hard to recover from that mental/psychological issue, and he finally recovered from it, and there was NO reason for that to suddenly happen, except to forcibly push a sad ending to the viewers, and it sucks even more, because it meant their journey to heal and developments was thrown out the window....
P.S: The Novel from what I've read is a happy ending for the Main Pairing... But the drama direction in the second half of the story was a complete mess...Most of us persevered to the end because we believe in that happy ending since we saw their wedding scene in the opening song, but then when it finally happened, we felt betrayed and cheated and it left us so angry by what happened, because that wedding wasn't even real....
That is a summary of what happened, but most of us in here pretty much spoiled the ending already, so all you have to do is scroll down the comment section to read it.
