This choice he made is atypical and not how the human mind works. It is therefore Fantasy but in cdramaland this behavior is supposed to show he is deeply in love with her. Does he respect her enough to let her make her own informed decisions? Obviously not. He knows better in his mind.

I agree with you, regardless of what is posted one can simply ignore what they say or block them. It takes the “fun” out of the provocation (if that is the intent). Responding in kind, just keeps it going. Free speech is just that, free to say anything even if it is nasty. This is within some behavior parameters e.g. no swearing or no threats. If MDL tries to chase these people down and chooses to delete their accounts that becomes censorship. That means the site becomes biased or is accused of bias and that could forever change how MDL is viewed including its relevance. Nothing is perfect and no one can have everything their way. The ML was once in love with Qiu Shui Yin if that is what you are asking. He remains duty bound and maybe still in love with her while he tries to save her child. This is what is written in the novel. He doesn’t actually realize he cares for FL until eight years have passed (while he is chasing down the elusive ingredients for a cure). In the book they never actually have any real romance. They do enjoy each other’s company when he returns about once a year bringing one of the ingredients for “the medicinal cure”. In actuality the FL didn’t think he would persevere in these searches. She was just trying to give him hope as the child’s illnesses are congenital from his premature birth and cannot be cured. Both the FL and ML pine away for their lost loves for years unable to truly move on from them. For me this is a bit much and stretches the bounds of reality. Of course, there is tragedy surrounding both of their first loves perhaps this keeps them unable to truly recognize their feelings for each other before, of course, it is too late. Tragedy tragedy tragedy.

Well I finished the novel and I watched the first few episodes. If this follows the novel it will be tragic for many characters from beginning to end. So many unfortunate and pitiful characters. This is primarily about what may have been between two people. It is not the story of a fully experienced romance and love that was later lost. In the book there is no ACTUAL romance just some feels and potential. I am going to wait and put this on hold until I know if it continues to follow the novel. Reading this story was enough, I am not interested in seeing a relationship that never came to be with constant tragedies happening all around.
