Just because you do like a show, doesn't mean it's not problematic. Stalking someone is objectively a bad thing…
It's not your place to tell me what is for me and what is not for me. I can and will decide that for myself. My point, which I will explain differently to you, is that, just because you like it doesn't mean it's not problematic.
As I said, I haven't decided how I feel about it yet. It's too early to say. I want to see if Jaeyoung ever acknowledges that he is being a creepy stalker and apologizes or tries to make up for it in some way.
Jaeyoung may feel like Sangwoo wronged him, but, objectively, Sangwoo did not wrong him. People who expect others to do work for them are the ones in the wrong.
That being said, I do like their chemistry. For me, it will depend on if Jaeyoung later acknowledges that he is being a creepy stalker and tries to fix it.
If you don't like the characters or the plot devices (Jaeyoung pestering Sangwoo), nobody is forcing you to watch…
Just because you do like a show, doesn't mean it's not problematic.
Stalking someone is objectively a bad thing to do, it doesn't matter if you're doing it to be cute or because you're in love or for whatever reason.
As many people have all said so many times in the comments on my drama list, just because somebody is doing a bad thing does not mean you can't show it in a TV show, as long as it is clear to the audience it's a bad thing.
Jaeyoung's behavior is problematic, as long as the show portrays his behavior as problematic then the show itself is fine. Series are problematic when they show problematic behavior and try to make the audience think that it's normal or okay.
The jury is still out on this one for me. If someone behaved towards me like Jaeyoung, I would definitely call the police. I'm just waiting to see if his behavior is redeemed or not.
So, Jaeyoung is a complete, creepy stalker. I get the attraction for folks, because the leads have great chemistry, but if some rando started following me around like that, I would definitely just start recording it for about 3 days and then call the police. What a creep!
Also, people who don't do their part of the group project are trash. Just trash.
maybe they don't drink to excess in France so much?
Based on the number of French girls that puked in my bathroom and passed out on my couch, both during the year I lived in France and afterwards, I'm going to say they do drink as much :-)
I've been waiting for this to air for a while now but after watching the trailer i'm scared they'd fuck it up…
Yeah, the trailer is sus. looks like a lot of gay panic stuff or gender panic stuff, especially after the scene towards the end where it looks like Luke is freaked out because he sees the trans woman's dick at the urinal and it's big. Not excited about this.
Both kisses kind of caught me off guard. I didn't think BOTH couples would get to that point in the same ep. FahThorn…
Haha, gay 20 year olds have been known to kiss and have sex, even if they are not in a relationship ;-) Also, I kind of got the impression that Aii was afraid about leaving for Japan and so he wanted to speed things up b/c of that.
I Started to lose interest in bl because of the same plot and story like college engineering and shitty acting…
I'm a fan of sexy scenes if they are important to the plot (and a little bit of fan service :-), but not too much). I liked that, in this ep, the sexy times show White's conflict about lying to Sean, so it also advanced the plot, and it brought new intimacy to their relationships.
Akk is hot af, Theo's character is a little bit adorable and a lot annoying. I like Saifah, he at least has a personality and a motivation. I don't know what the other 3 are even there for.
I would rather Akk and Theo wander around Bangkok some more, eat some more ice cream, and then make out by the river, or on a bridge or something.
Does this show even have a plot? It seems more like a slice of life anime... but with a lot of weird asides.
I will probably just skim through the next few episodes and see if anything actually happens. I'm not super impressed.
