s00o... I'm having an insight source (quite reliable, but I can't give any link or details tho) that told me the reason why the drama it keeps getting pushed back. Looks like the first to broadcast the episodes is CCTV on channel 8 (national TV), then the webcast platforms can finally pick it up and release it. But for some unknown reason CCTV keeps delaying the airing date, that's why Tencent/iQIYI/Youku can't give any airing date.
We all depend on CCTV benevolence now -_-

Review Jade Dynasty
I swear people with short attention span should not watch c-dramas or movies, less that less they should leave reviews.
Zhang Xiaofan was very talented. When his parents got killed by the Demon Master, the dude that was fighting with the demon master and owned the demon orb (the reason for which the demon master was chasing after him) found Zhang Xiaofan together with his friend (that later becomes better at cultivating). This dude choose Zhan Xiaofan because he could feel the talent in him and he also could feel that he could entrust him the demonic orb that would bring chaos into the world if landed into the wrong hands, because he knew the boy was good at heart. He also transfers to him all his powers and skills before he dies making him his disciple, so the boy could make use of his talents later on, when he would grow up.
Zhang Xiaofan couldn't cultivate throughout the years as his friend did or as his fellow disciples did, because of the above mentioned orb that was blocking and absorbing all his powers. His clan master knew that he couldn't train like the rest of the disciples and made use of him by putting him into the kitchen, otherwise he should have been kicked out from clan. They weren't an orphanage to take care of homeless untalented random boys. He shouldn't have had the right to stay into the cultivation realm if he was without talent for cultivation, so it was just right he did the chores.
The "stick" that Xiaofan later on found on the sea was not a random stick and that was not an accident. The stick and orb were searching for each-other. They would have fused anyway with or w/o Xiaofan's blood. That was the Demonic Master's weapon that the dude who died took it away from him during the battle and hid away to not get connected with the demonic orb. When these 2 items were getting connected they were becoming a huge powerful weapon, and they were indeed demonic, as they were originally belonging to the Demonic Master. When the stick fused with the orb they used Zhang Xiaofan's blood, so they recognized him as their master, so the demonic master couldn't take it away from him anymore to create chaos. When Xiaofan finally owned the stick his powers were being released as he didn't carried the orb around his neck anymore, so he became powerful.
This movie carries on its title the number 1, as to announce that is the first in a series. Of course you will be left hanging and the ending would feel rushed, because some things will be better developed on the second part.
Your review worth much less that you rated the movie. A 4 scarce.

Li Qin has just published a new batch of pictures! (and guess what, her pics was taken in the middle of the trees... Hint? :P)
As I anticipated few days ago, every time one of her dramas gets broadcast she is trending with pictures on weibo. I will be highly surprised if we don't get the official release date soon. :D

The drama has entered on the red zone.... we are getting closer.

(Sorry Annabella, no date yet, but I'm confident we gonna have it soon ..^_^.. To answer to your question, she is only a supporting role on the other drama, should not influence on the airing of The Wolf.)

There is one thing I can't really stand in any kind of dramas: a stupid annoying female lead. And gosh is this female lead stupid! But like it wasn't enough, we also got two stupid male leads, to have a complete triangle... I'm on episode 8 and already lost patience.

Wow, WYB got almost 50% more than XZ although he had a lot less work to do! And someone recently insisted that…
Yeah, it hurts to know that Yibo got so much more payment fee for so much less work. XZ had double airing screen time, ten per more replies to remember, and much more action stunts to learn, but he got paid less because he was less known than Yibo and his agency didn't took care about him and his contracts. It really hurts when you also see that XZ gets so much hate. It is like WWX's soul transferred into Xiao Zhan's real life being and is living again the drama, this time in real life. It makes me angry.
I guess that my maternal instincts took over and i feel like I want to take him home, hide him and protect him forever from the bad people... Lil' bunny. :P

I'm here again! Tencent has published Li Qin's pictures on their weibo. Why is this indicative to the broadcast? Let me tell you a lil' secret: Every time a drama with Li Qin in a main role has been broadcast, Li Qin was trending on weibo a day before, and Tencent was publishing her pictures. It happened last year with Joy of Life, it is happening now with The Wolf. I am expecting the announcement and I'm pretty confident. :D
Regarding the people's concern whether this drama will be successful or not, I will give you some insight. This drama is a production of a pretty famous producer, Chen Yushan, which has under her belt famous drama names such as Prince of Lan Ling, which if not many of you have watched or knows, it was a huge hit in China when it got released. The Wolf it is supposed to be a kind of sequel of the story of Prince of Lan Ling. Who watched that drama will recognize names, periods, places etc. What is different in The Wolf? The budget. This is a huge drama production. It is said that it has been invested more than 400 mil Yuan. To make you have an idea how much that is, let's take the latest most known successful dramas and their budgets.
The Untamed had a budget of 200 mil yuan. The main male leads got paid 7 mil (Yibo) respectively 5 mil (Xiao Zhan). This is really low for a drama this successful. The lack of budget could be noticed on certain aspects, for example on the CGI in certain moments as that was the only thing most of the detractors found to complain about. Also, The Untamed with its beautiful backgrounds and places it is known to have had all made by computer, in a proportion of 70%. There are BTS videos about that.
Another very big hit drama Ashes of Love, which is said to have had a big budget, has invested 350 mil and could be seen in the quality of the costumes (more than 3000 pieces of costumes sewn for the entire cast), in the quality of the backgrounds (more that 75% of the backgrounds was real sets built especially for the drama), the better quality of the CGI, etc.
It is reported that for The Wolf, more than 85% of the backgrounds are real sets and escapes built especially for the show. Also the quality of the costumes it is reported to be of high standard, the crew behind the camera was bigger than usual for such type of tv shows. They used real armors and props for the battle scenes, which are very costly, highly trained stuntmen and horses, etc.
The airing of the drama was pushed back for so long due to problems with the ban in china regarding some arguments in the show, such as the Tang dynasty (for some reason a delicate argument for censors), some costumes not approved etc. They had to re-shot a high number of episodes. When the show was ready to post production it arrived the limitation to 40 episodes, so they again had to re-shot certain episodes in order to can reduce the drama to the actual number which is 48.
I would not be worried about it being too obsolete. I've watched some recent historical dramas which were supposed to be made with modern technology, and my eyes were bleeding... :P

Tomorrow (which for China is already today) do not expect any announcement. There is an entertainment ban, as they commemorate the 2008 earthquake in Sichuan province which was devastating, has killed over 69.000 people. So we will have to patiently wait until they end with the commemorations.
Rip to the victims btw.

Soooo, strange things happening on Tencent website LOL!!! :D
I've caught this change for exactly 10 minutes, right in time to take a screenshot; when I came back to it was already gone and the order went back as it was previously... Someone from staff made an error? It was a glitch? wasn't supposed to be 13, or wasn't supposed to be released today?... Mystery.
