Moon lovers, yeah I forgot he was into this. Well, Lee Jung Ki strike too much, you end to forget others actors. Page Turner is 3 episodes. A mini-drama I liked very much.

About the cut of the end scene: it proves that it is a continuous story with the essential, which does not fill time with useless scenes. In some others dramas, the time is clocked first and a cliffhanger is provided, episode by episode. But if the events of the story happen too fast, then the episode must be filled with useless (and often boring) things. In a continuous story, it is possible to place cliffhangers, but without cheating with the rhythm of the drama, or very little (just 1 or 2 minutes to adjust the duration of the episode). So it's hazardous, and placing a cliffhanger sometimes requires cheating a little, using a scene that is not very remarkable and turning it into a cliffhanger, or moving a scene forward and then flashing back to the next episode. On some episodes, even this can't be done, so it's better to stop the episode. This means that the current episode and the beginning of the next one have no fill scenes, and the content is dense. Concerning ratings, it is still penalizing, because the TV channel needs to catch the viewers, and cliffhanger is one of the proven methods. The spectators are so used to it that when it's not there, they notice it, just like you did.

Goshhhh the first episode was truly explosive!!! What a big-scale production and everyone’s acting was soooo…
The screenwriter writed drama Road Number One.
After that, I have great confidence about his work.

Unpopular opinion: I'm not convinced he can carry a whole drama as the main lead.....I would like to be proved…
He already did, in a wonderfull story : Page Turner (with Kim So Hyun too).
But I feel what you say.
As I was watching trailers, I wasn't sure he could be up to the task.
After 2 episodes, I'm convainced it's good. He adapted well to the character as well as the historical context.

I dunno if it's just me. I got the same vibes as Arthdal Chronicles and Mr Sunshine mixed into one.
You make me think I should not forget to watch Arthdal Chronicles. ;-)

After watching 2 Episodes the Positives I found was :- Expensive production, nice locations , good looking costumes…
Some people complain about the plot is too fast paced, and you because it's too draggy. I don't complain because the slower scenes was very enjoyable, and I like fast paced dramas. I'm really lucky here ! It fall right in my shoes.
About the 5 first minutes. It's something you get into well construted storys big one very moving. Empress Ki, Giant. Even James Cameron's Titanic ! Most of the time this is used, it's among the best dramas. It means the scriptwriter as enough confidence in the quality of the story, so you enjoy what you see each moment.
Also, this first scene is not necessarly the end of the drama.
- Im watching Penthouse and into this, this first scene come at episode 4 into the drama. And the effect is very powerful, what happenned reinforce the twist.
- Another example : While you were sleeping. Here the first scene come at the end of episode one, in a very moving and powerful way too.
So, I say that for reassure you, I don't think it will spoil you the drama, and there is good chance it's enhance it.

I'm a big fan of Kim So Hyun so I forgive a lot when it comes to plot holes and the like but the first episode…
I think it was a good decision (maybe the only one?), and explained why into an answer of a previous comment.
On River Where the Moon Rises Feb 17, 2021
This drama is turning out better of what I expected.
Shimmering and warm directing, simple and innocent love encounter, looking very natural and touching, comedy scenes not only funny but also moving. Some surprising harsh twists (blind mother flashback).
Super cute little white dog.

Yes I definitely agree. How is it only the king recognizes her face and not even her brother or On Dal ?
For you and people pointing these details here.
On the contrary, it's logical and well thinked.
As child princess is different, people who know her like that don't recognize her, and firstly On-Dal. Then when she grow up, she look like her mother. Then only the King recognize her, because he's just in front of her, and what he see is only his dead queen.
Other people (among one who meet the queen in the past) are far and can't see because she wear a veil.

they are ALL horrible, i guess that if u don’t like those kind of dramas, u won’t stand 3 episodes. i personally…
I couldnt say it better. 100% worth it, but if you like how well bad people are portrayed and have fun with that.
On The Penthouse: War in Life Feb 16, 2021
OMG. Ep4. The shoes plot twist! I think if I was one the rotten people here, I would have a heart attack. Some clues are dispatched, already many. All this will sooner or later put the bad people into a storm of problems and crisis. I can forsee right now their drop of sweat, exorbitant eyes, hell in mind. They will suffer a lot too !

Whenever one of the more evil characters get angry I'm already expecting things to smash and break. It happens…
Half of the budget is for broken objets. ^^
On The Penthouse: War in Life Feb 16, 2021
As usual, lot of injustices for better breaking our nerves and make us angry.
Some characters are sacrificial sheeps, only here to suffer more and more.
Children are as rotten than their parents.
All is there to be so enjoyable !
On The Penthouse: War in Life Feb 16, 2021
I just finished episode 1. WOOOO!
It rock so hard ! Crazy good. But, beware, it's almost self-parody.
First scene is volontary bad taste makjang cliché, hard hiting and fun.
So many nasty characters, each more ugly, with dirty dialogs, immorality, insane attitude, greed, ambition, adultery, hate, jalousy, abuse.
Already so many screams, nervous breakdown, tables crashing, violent women fighting.
It's The Last Empress amplified. I don't know how the scriptwriter will keep the pace, and to what extremity it lead if it strike so hard just at beginning.
Some subtility too in the way the characters are bad, arrogant and disgusting. Dialogs and interactions are great. Each scene, each line, each actor face is like a gastronomic meal, if you know how to taste it.
This screenwriter is crazy. Her path about storys has always been about that, and she make it better than any one else.
I could call it EDDOM :
Energy Drink Death Overdose Makjang.

Hi! I would add "My country the new age", because of cinematographic rendering and old era period.
