This actress has no luck or listens to bad advice because she has often played in rather bad dramas. However, she is good in historical dramas. In "Queen Seon Deok", she plays a princess in the first episodes. Unfortunately, she is replaced by a less attractive actress, for only a few years age difference in the story. But at the time she was a rookie actress, the producers preferred not to take any risks. Otherwise, she is very cute, and I like her expressions. I think she's more lively than Park Min Yung, in the same style.

I dropped "Blade", with actress Shin Se Kyung. All actors was bad in this drama, and she was terrible in this (lot of overplay). So, when I watched "The Girl Who Sees Scents", I was very plaisantly surprised. One of the best role of this underated actress.
I'm posting some unpredictably good drama. Nine Time Travel. https://kisskh.at/6081-nine-nine-times-time-travel I saw it because I know the writer, but otherwise I could have dropped the drama quickly. The first episode is slow and full of seemingly unimportant situations. Almost nothing happens, then the second episode is slightly less boring. Gradually, the drama takes off and by Episode 4, it reachs cruising speed and becomes an exceptionally intense drama.
lolololol! Me too, i didnt finished "descendant of the sun"... and I don't care. I didnt finished many dramas, just stuck ONE hour before end. I don't know why... Not bad dramas, even. Just I don't feel it anymore and I started to watch another drama. Hotel del luna, I know why, I tried to watch last episode. I stand this 30', no more. Suddenly, this drama I liked while I binge watched it sound different after 1 month pause. All articifial and ugly superficial, boring, I couldn't watch that. I stopped the final episode after 30 minutes and never watched the end.
Or you know like W Two worlds. That was one over hyped thrash
I don't know because I watched this drama by chance in 2017. I just saw Lee Jong Suk in the cast, and said myself "why not ?". I almost didn't watch any drama during 2016, and had no idea what was hyped or not. Maybe it's the best solution, if you don't know that, you just watch the drama and like it or not like it alone.
Right now it's on-hold (ep04) because I prefer binge-watch after the broadcast. Too slow paced: the only negative point, according to my personal taste. On the other hand, the drama benefits from a successful atmosphere. Good actors, good direction, very good photography, narrative clarity. The fantastic theme is well treated. The real bonus is the world of railways. It's the first time I've seen that in a drama. On the Soompi forum (pages 12 to 15), I posted articles about where the drama takes place. I even found a Korean blog that found the shooting locations.
this post reeks of racism. Geez, it's 2020, get with the times, stop the ignorance. All koreans look alike? Who…
Time has a role to play. I've been watching kdramas since about 2010. My list is not as long as the list of those who have been watching dramas for so long, but I have a lot of other things to do in life. However, watching 150 dramas in ten years gives a better memory of the actors than watching 150 dramas in one year (add to that the ones that have been dropped or on-hold). I know most of the actors, even the secondary actors (even if I can't remember their names).
In kdramas, the secondary actors are always the same and are often excellent. It's like a big family, and you feel at home when you see them. A lot of supporting actors are easy to recognize because they have a very distinctive face that fits stereotypical roles. Some actors always play the role of bad guys of a certain type for example. Some subscribe to historical dramas, and even take over the same type of role. For example, the actress Kim Sun Kyung, who often plays the queen dowager.
Sometimes I don't recognize them right away if the context is completely different. For example, this actress is in the drama "The world of the maried", and plays a rich bad mother-in-law. I didn't recognize her right away because she didn't have Joseon's hairdo anymore, and a very different style. But her voice gave me a clue. I was delighted when I discovered the truth (I like this actress, she's perfect to play some kind of scruffy characters).
You're confusing two distinct concepts:- The complexity of the plot.- The quality of the narrative.
Only thing I agree is about subtitles. Yes, and additionnaly auto-translated one in my langage was very bad ones. I could also add it's better to watch this drama out of broadcast (so, binge watch it). It will not solve problems, but will help a bit. I don't argue about others points. Battle is over, reviews are enough. It's waste of time.

The difficulty in differentiating individuals from another ethnic group is a natural phenomenon. One thing should be noted, however, having seen a lot of Korean dramas, I can better differentiate the actors now. The only time it's difficult is when a drama uses actors who look a bit too similar (this happens in TKEM, or in the drama Train, which you might be interested in).
On the other hand, I've rarely encountered this problem in historical dramas. I'm a big fan of this type of drama, and I can only advise you to see it. At the beginning, there is a blockage before starting the drama. And even after I finished the first historical drama, and even though the drama is great, the blockage at the beginning stayed with me until I saw two or three more. Then I now find it easier to get into a historical drama than a contemporary drama. It's a real pleasure, and above all a sure thing. This kind of drama is based on a more classic narrative that never disappoints. I have 50% less chance of dropping a historical drama than another drama.
Right now I've just finished a new masterpiece in this area: Six Flying Dragons. However, I don't recommend this drama to start watching historical dramas. It's very precise about the history and the real characters, and the difficulty is rather to remember the names of the characters. Although subtitling helps and often gives the names of the characters.
Your opinion is understandable. For me, it worked the other way around. I even think that it is very difficult to like TKEM after seeing W. But of course, this is not systematic, you are proof of that. Because TKEM copies a lot of things about W (and even Nine time travel), without being able to succeed. As it would be too long to explain, it would be better to refer to my reviews of these dramas.
During the first part, TKEM has indeed much more logic than it seems, but it's hard to see it, because the narration is bad. I'll just give an example, showing that there's one thing I would never accuse the writer of not working. There's a lot of work behind this drama. You see Maximus when is a pony. If you calculate the age difference with Lee Gon as an adult and you know about horses, Maximus is a very old horse at that time. However, the script takes this into account, and it's told in an episode! This is not put under the carpet. A lot of details are treated that way.
On the other hand, it spoils towards the second part. It becomes difficult to say whether or not it remains coherent because it is subject to too much speculation. Moreover, the main problem is not the actual consistency, but rather the public perception. Too much is hidden, in frightening proportions. For some people, W was already not easy, but in TKEM there is 90% more imprecision.
There is not only a problem of narration, but also of timing in the drama. If I could imagine it differently, I would condense episodes 1 to 10 more, while explaining things better. I'll eliminate 50% of the characters (which is what W did from the start!). And the remaining ones would have exciting plot lines (a hidden spy has to act and cause real problems). I would certainly get rid of the fantastic theme about dooplegangers as well. Or use it differently (far less dooplegangers, for logic reasons related to butterfly effect).
With the time saved, I would better develop the following episodes, especially everything related to supernatural phenomena, such as time travel. There is far too much missing at this point for the viewer to still believe in what they see.
''Why look for something else, when that's what's being presented? ''Because he's the type of villains I DON'T…
You think there's no right or wrong? Regarding the antagonist of Remember, for example. Your preference is not to like that kind of antagonist. Certainly that's your opinion. It's too bad, because if you were more open-minded, you might like drama more. Your own prejudices deprive you of more pleasure, but after all, it's all about you.
On the other hand, what about the writing of the character? What about the actor's performance? So it's a wrong opinion for me. Of course, things are not always so obvious.
For the rest, you talk about things that have nothing to do with it, I chose my nickname this way for other reasons.
I'm sorry, but your attitude is damaging. I take the time to answer your article with courtesy, and you go straight to swear words like "bullshit". No, really, I don't know what's going through your head. But for people who pretend to confront different opinions, that's a doozy! That won't stop me from spending the rest of the morning in a good mood, since I woke up in a good mood. Just relax a little.
For some unexplained reason, the other answers have been erased. ?!?

I know your way too. It's often highly subjective, on-the-spot criticism with the objective of creating a buzz and shocking people. And suddenly it's supposed to become something tolerant of "everyone's opinion"? However, having believed in your good faith, I responded to this article with a well-argued and peaceful commentary. Maybe you didn't appreciate me using your reverse-opinions to choose dramas? This is not insulting. Everybody does that, people know that they are more likely to find good dramas by using the opinion of people who have a similar taste, and vice versa.

Only section I commented recently was Train. Not only I'm attacking no-one, but I also provided lot of usefull information about the drama. So, you say anything, anyhow... it's defamation. I give my opinion about Remember, while I show how or why you have differents opinions than your co-writer, and vice-versa. What I think is interesting. It's exactly the thematic of the article. I even don't understand why you get upset like that and attacking me, about a kind comment. It's a bit crazy.
But for me, it was not unexpectedly good.
I was already guessing it would be a good drama. ;-)
