And you can't cheat with a dramatic recipe. You can't just use a "known formula for getting the audience". It's about to tell the emotional truth.

It was the kind of irrational thinking a lot of people do.
As well to propose something than accuse wrongly.

You can watch an episode of South Park 5 years ago and laugh a lot.
But now, the parody have become the reality.

Let's test with "special exception":
- Drama A is 8.6, then becomes 8.6.
- Drama B is 8.5, then becomes 6.4.
Drama A was just better than drama B for 0.1, then is 2.4 difference.

So this drama is 4.2/10.

I did some search about that in the past and got some interesting informations.
I also think they don't have the full script.

Or it depends on the dramas, we have:

- Full pre-production. The drama is filmed 100% before airing. Here is a chance the script is fully written before the actors get it.

- Half pre-production: Half the episodes filmed before airing. They continue to shoot and writer continue to write the script during airing. Even when the script isn't fully written, the writer have an outline.

- No pre-production: or just few first episodes. It's the case you mention, during broadcasting, the script can change according to the audience. But it was a process used more in the past. Today, dramas are more pre-produced, at least drama with < 16 episodes with high quality image and script. For KBS family dramas or things like that, I think they shoot and write that along the way.

It's ok, I watched the drama. Excellent one. By the way, I've also a gory surgical operation scene in the kdrama I'm writing, but it's not a medical drama.
I think it's ok in a medical drama because if I was wondering what profession I want to choose and I like medecine, I'd prefer to be prepared with the reality.

This drama lacks authenticity.

I think it should be good to go from movie to drama. In a movie, all is faster, to the point and should be without dead time. Well, it depends on the movies.

Impossible Heir have some scenes with "movie reflexes": I mean the scene start the later possible, and cut as early as possible. But I was wondering in a previous comment if it was the good thing to do for some scenes. Maybe more developpement could help about emotions and better get the relationships.

Then, my fav dramas are often written like movies (giant 16h movies), without fillers and many twists and turn, but still portray correctly the universe of the drama. Recently, the drama Death's Game really give you this feeling.

Now, about the difficulties: outline a movie is more easy because it's short. Outline a whole drama is of course more difficult. And when you can rewrite the script of a movie 4 or 5 times, it's not really possible to do it for a drama.

So, let's say you have made mistake during the preparation phase but are unable to see it (and it's quite easy to make such mistakes), then you write it but don't have much room to fix that. If it's about something related to the whole structure, it's dead.

Over time, I can find that kind of problem in dramas, even from famous writers. It's not because they are doing it badly. I think they put their best, but it's just crazy difficult. As long as the drama isn't written, there is always a kind of blur. And when it's done, it's too late.

Also, in a movie, you don't repeat twice the same information, while the older drama writers often did (with additional flashbacks). For example, in Impossible Heir, maybe the writer did the scenes with FL and ML for first episodes and stated: ok, now I started their relationship, it's done. But we don't feel it after some episodes. Plus we don't binge watch but watch on air and forget the information and feeling along the way.

Add to that, the character wasn't enough likable to make believe in a romance, and it's screwed. When the writer sincerely did her best to portray the FL with her backstory, ambition personnality, etc. Only, it wasn't the good personnality for that story? But now it's too late, all was structured in this way. There was a kind of blindness, and the writer missed that. And it's difficult to spot when you are alone facing the pages.

Not dramas but movies. What is even less screentime.

It's a creepy combo with her dead fish eyes and the veins on her face.

There are good daily dramas like "The Promise".
It's 1/10 the image quality, but the story is addictive and actors excellent.

Good stories are never dated.
I watched 3 episodes and I'm addicted.
I guess it will be a rude love triangle, with indecise FL, annoying, turning guys crazy.
And it's exactly what I like when an actress is so beautiful and quite good in her role.

You think a 20 millions budget drama is an acting classroom? And we should somehow be "patient" and accept this terrible actress in this drama, waiting some years before she improves? (and destroying some other dramas along the way).

It's the highest competitive level. Any rookie just get a guest role. And should be 100% confirmed for the leads. I don't see any reason for this dull model to be here, except some kind of "business exception" behind the scene.

I just hope she will never be actress anymore.

Not the worst drama, but not exactly exciting.
First episode was Ok, then it's dull, then I found ep6 better.
I didn't watched yet ep 7.
Everything seems to be already done in a better way in other dramas.
