Ep2: I notice a pattern, ML and FL are systematically vexing, answering NO to absolutely everything, even to each other (scene on the roof). At the start it adds a bit of conflict, but on the long run, it makes the mood heavy and painful, scenes looking the same.

FL asking for ambitious partnership feels prematurate because we don't have the idea they know each other a lot. I find weird the idea that the ML can do a "super-report" on the company, as if it's something no one could imagine before. And we don't have the idea he knows a lot about business before.

Yeah. Comment section is funny, but scary when you are about to start. 😅 I found only negative comments except…
I watched ep1. For now, it's ok. 😅
Not rushed, even some slow scenes. A bit unclear about a plot point. We are supposed to connect the dots, but I couldn't find the clues for that.

The FL isn't pretty enough. I don't find her attractive, quite depressive, cringe. People say she can only make big eyes but I wonder how because she already have big eyes and there isn't much room for enlargement unless to be exorbited.

Omg reading all these comments makes me scared to watch it because I dont want to waste my time watching something…
Yeah. Comment section is funny, but scary when you are about to start. 😅
I found only negative comments except few ones. Two categories.
- Some make me want to drop: erratic transitions, too much dialogue, and other technical issues well explained by some people here.
- Some make me want to watch: annoying FL, grey characters, toxicity, irrational behavior, painful love triangle, cinderella trope.

I saw annoying, frustrating, terrible, but I didn't find even once the word "boring".
No one said it's a boring drama, comments or reviews.
So, maybe I'll try first episode?

The drama failed to follow the 'show, don't tell' rule. I don't know if it has something to do with the number…
Hi, thanks. Alas, I can't stay, I'm not watching the drama. 😉
EDIT: finaly I watched first episodes. haha.

Yes, maybe it was too long for 12 eps, so it needed shorcuts.
I was reading comments for checking the mood.
So, I don't think I'll watch it now. 😅

The drama failed to follow the 'show, don't tell' rule. I don't know if it has something to do with the number…
If you watch older dramas like "temptation of wife", there are often short info-dump by dialogue. But the reason are obvious:
- lack of time: k-screenwriters are often in a hurry, and I don't think they can polish their script as long as they should. They need to be good almost on first draft, what is crazy difficult for a whole drama.
- lack of budget: reason why the excellent writer of "temptation of wife" use many "tell don't show" is because there is a limited number of set, and no budget to shoot flashbacks, side-scenes, or anything needing money to make it visual.
For the writer of this drama, let's add this one:
- lack of experience: the writer here just wrote 3 movies and it's her first drama. That's a big change, because a drama is basically a movie, but of 16h screentime.

I have an opinion: why this drama is not doing well in ratings & as expected. The plot has a lot characters, situations…
I don't watch the drama, but reading your comment by chance, it makes lot of sens. Solving situations by dialogue only and speaking about people not in the room is always a problem. And a montage with voice-over can save the day for lack of anything better. I remember it ruined Hospital Playlist drama. It reminds me the very famous "all caps" angry memo of David Mamet: https://gointothestory.blcklst.com/the-scene-must-be-dramatic-7f9ad621a1b4

The drama tried to provide a bit absurd tone, step-back comedy. But it falls flat, out of pace or forced. It tries to take seriously the plot, but the characters aren't true to what happens.
It's quite boring, so I've drop,.

I know. And there are chances the original jdrama is even better.
I didn't have time to look at that yet, but I'm aware of this.

A second season of a K-drama is NEVER a good idea!
Except when it's planified, I prefer kdramas to be one unique story. So, one season.
But I don't have a rigid opinion about that.

Facts show that for movies, series or kdramas:
- A sequel can be a miss. Dull, empty, far to be what is the original.
- A sequel can be as good, even better than original.

I think it depends of the purpose and material:
- Production order a sequel, but the writer doesnt have good ideas for it.
- Writer have good ideas and ask for the sequel to be produced.

I've met this situation, as I'm in rewriting phase of a season2 of a kdrama.
I didn't want to make it, it takes a lot of time and work.
Even stranger: kdrama W didn't need a season2. We have a feeling of closure at the end.
But the high-concept has such a potential that it could be larger than that.

After thousand of ideas noted on files, I asked to myself: is it worth it to write a season2. And as I didn't want to do it, I said "no, I'd need to have even better ideas, with the goal to make it better than season 1". It sounds impossible, as the original writer is so excellent. But finally these ideas came. So, well, I was trapped, I had to do it. I didn't have a choice but to do it, like the story was here and saying me "I'm too good, you have to write me".
It's a sincere way. I wouldn't do it if I start saying to myself "oh, I like this drama and I'll write a season2" but I've no idea what to do. Obviously, I won't do something like that.

I won't even try to watch that. Same writer than hospital playlist, one of the worst drama ever, also madly overated.…
The writer did good about characters, for example, maggot girl, she made the most funny parts of the drama.

Else, the screenplay is terrible. Scenes without purpose, long and boring. Denial to show and use of dialogues instead. Confusion, people speaking about other people not in the room. Repetitive situations where nothing happens, like 10 resto scenes per episode and blah blah blah. And even, resolution of situations out-screen, with just characters telling it.

You can have a 10 minutes situation and you scratch your head "why you show that? what is supposed to lead to?" Nowhere. It was just a slice-of-life scene BUT without interest (I mean, we could have good slice-of-life dramas too). I think about ep5? A scene when the guy prepare food. It's more exciting to be in a bus and listen two random people talking during the journey, than watching this drama.

To boot: the long scenes with the band. As if it wasn't boring enough.
I was feeling like the writer want me to die of boredom.

It's an anthology of all screenplay mistakes.
I took notes and even watched twice, then compared to the list of tips from famous screenwriters. Like this famous guy:
https://gointothestory.blcklst.com/the-scene-must-be-dramatic-7f9ad621a1b4
Well, I could find some others, because this one is known to talk harsh.
But it gets here a important point:
"ANY TIME TWO CHARACTERS ARE TALKING ABOUT A THIRD, THE SCENE IS A CROCK OF SHIT."
Sorry for the rude language, but it's his exact words. And this is what do HP during all the drama, start to finish.

I took the subtitle file to check some scenes, like a long and boring scene in a car, two people talking (the mother and her guy). I was looking for where there is something important for the story. I could barely find a line or two lost in the ordinary chitchat. 5 whole minutes on that! Did I got something exceptional about characters? Not even.

So, considering it's the Xth drama from this writer, at a point she should be better than before, and she still produce so bad content, you understand I don't even want to try what she did previously.

From ep6 to the end, it's really bad, even the worst ever.Any hate for this drama is justified, even recommended.
This pic is horrible and PEGGY 19.
No sunlight, no contrast, no harmony, no magic.
What create this gray flat horror with puke-green.
You know that any drama even from 2010 did x10 better.
This drama isn't only badly written, it's UGLY. 💩

I actually think 1 is too high. And here, 8.3 is simply a joke.
Ahff... yeah, she choose often the same kind of light comedy.
I didn't watched everything, maybe she did a good sageuk?
Clean with Passion for Now was funny but I never ended.
Backstreet Rookie was ok too, except the overthetop first episode.
And Angry Mom is quite terrible and grotesque, but by some miracle very addictive.

I prefer some actors when they were child too. For example this guy:
https://kisskh.at/people/1500-yeo-jin-goo
I can't point exactly why, but he makes me indifferent.
