I finally got a chance to finish it, and I did not expect to like this one as much as I did, it was a dark horse…
This is also my first time watching zhou keyu in a drama and I must say he knocked it out the park! I actually was a fan during his Chuang days, so watching him in this mode after a few years was fun haha. I hope he does more slice of life dramas cuz I think it really suits him

I finally got a chance to finish it, and I did not expect to like this one as much as I did, it was a dark horse fav of this year! After a long day at work, watching this felt really comfy. I loved the leads, their chemistry, and I really really loved the supporting characters too (specifically chun chang!). I tend to prefer slow burn (once it's done right) so the pacing didn't bother me.

The only problems I could think of if I had to nitpick was some of the styling/make-up choices for the fl, and the filter they used, but those are really minor things.

I think they did a really good job of portraying a relationship like this, which is a sensitive topic for some, which could easily feel icky if done badly. But the reasons and circumstances they got together made sense here. Like someone wrote earlier, they came into each other's life at the right timing. He needed someone to take him out of a dead-end/bad situation and she needed a distraction from 2 horrible situations that happened back to back and probably made her feel like she was losing grip of her life. Then gratitude and duty transformed into love (as it often happens irl too!). It all felt very natural.

Lastly, I could understand why the ML character would be more likeable to some than the FL - he is clear and upfront about what he wants while she opts to avoid or hide from her feelings. But given the context of the divorce, I'm more than willing to give her grace for this character flaw.

If you like slice of life, slow burn romance and a tastefully don "jie-di" drama, I would highly recommend this one!

I don't. The mother is more interested in him then she is. And she's not eating that jam, either, lol.
LMAOOO not the jam catching a stray

chuchu can't be real..no way does the negative comments from random netizens outweigh the guilt of fcking over her friend in such a critical moment. especially after witnessing firsthand everything she went through. the negative comments about her may stop but does she really think she could live guilt free after that??? talk about being both spineless and naive

wait wait just to confirm, although the drama did not confirm it explicitly, were sima jiao's parents blood related? like brother and sister or cousins?
