wzm's character is so hateful in this, my blood pressure rises whenever he's on screen. but that means he's doing a good job...love-hating his chararcter more than the ML at the moment (if that makes sense). I still don't have any emotional connectional toward the ML, but I think it's because I'm not sure what to make of him yet or the way he's approaching the "fake persona" is missing the mark for me idk...
Mango wants to milk this because it's a big hit. They probably also paid a huge amount of money to get airing…
ahh I had a feeling it had to do with squeezing money out of advertisers, because one ep a day schedule usually comes after 10 episodes have aired, not before
i know xiao lin and meng ziyi filmed a variety show shortly after this was filmed where they were in costumes, does anyone know what it's called? and where i can watch it
I don't get the Hannibal comparisons, but maybe I will, when I rewatch.I have to admit, however, that I felt Fang…
Its admittedly a weak Hannibal comparison, but the vibe of their relationship kept reminding me of Will and Hannibal's dynamic.
With Fang Kaiyi, I don't think the problem was the actor, but it was how they approached the character. I also think he was always meant to look shady/like a snake from the beginning - nothing about him was meant to be percieved as 'sincere'. If the show made more of an effort to show how shen yi and FKY's relationship developped, him manipulating shen yi would have felt more believable to me. Instead shen yi seemed smitten him immediately.
I have to say that I almost gave up on this season because the cases and character development were uncomfortable…
I agree, but if the writing team was better they wouldn't have to wait until the end to literally TELL the viewer the aim of the season. It could have been done much earlier and in a more clever way imo. The direction and pacing really was all over the place
well this was still a mixed bag for me. although there were high points, if it weren't for the acting and my love for the IP I wouldn't have stuck around until the end. the gene thing...still don't know how I feel about it, i feel they could have approached fang kaiyi's character in a different way that would have been more impactful, but I get what they were going for (Hannibal Lecter - Will Graham definitely seemed to have been on the mood board lol!)
The last few eps were still some of the best. I really can't get enough of the MLs interactions. Du Cheng admitting fault about holding Shen Yi back (even with the best intentions) and Shen Yi assuring him that he won't stray from the right path thanks to his absolute trust in DC as his anchor. It's moments like that where I don't understand why DC's character has so many ppl who (still) dislike him - his growth and evolution thanks to SY is what has made him far more likeable as opposed to the beginning of s1.
Anyway I digress, I'm still looking forward to s3 cuz this story (and the calibre of the cast) continues to have so much potential. I am however weary of this writing/production team beacause I do not care for the way they paced this season or the things they chose to focus on.
it will start airing online on mgtv on jan 7th but it'll start airing on Hunan tv on the 9th
since it's airing on hunan..is there a chance that someone other than Mango will sub it? i think hunan has their youtube where they upload shows if i'm not mistaken
