love the pacing and the aesthetic of this one. i've been intrigued since the first trailer and it surpassed my expectations. i hope the quality keeps up until the end
It's december and i have yet to see a drama I've enjoyed as much as this one so its safe to say this is my drama of the year. There have been far better dramas, both technically and plot wise, that have come out since this one but none have been able to recreate the magic this one had when it was airing. I have to give the most props to the chemistry of the whole cast (not just the leads) for making this "magic" happen.
WJY was the only reason I clicked on the drama but I had zero expectations since I was not familiar with the rest of the cast, but I went away from it looking forward to the future works of ALL of the main support roles.
she has such a unique aura, and she did steal the show in the latter half of the double. she also seems more suited to films than dramas though none of the films she's been in so far pique my interest that much. since she has a higher profile now since the double, i look for ward to her getting more interesting scripts, as the main role
unfortunately, this drama ruined all the other dramas this year for me. every new drama that i've watched after this one, i've been trying to chase the high I felt while watching this (and discussing it here and on soc media) but nothing else has engageds me even half as much as this did. 2 months left in the year and i'm certain there will not be anything else topping it for me sigh
i have alot of issues with the stroyline but the action scenes are to die for. all of the action sequences have been amazing, and seeing the duo fight in ep 14 made it the best action scene of the series so far
My goodness! How I love Liu Xue Yi and Wu Jin Yan! It is awesome to see actors of the same caliber facing off…
yes i caught that detail with her gold sleeves too!! and the way her gold and black outfit contrasted with the gold floor... that shot was so so satisfying
loved the first three eps so far. I get the complaint about the sing songy voice the ML uses but I like it lol, plus he speaks normally 80% of the time when he doesn't have the "ghost general" facade on. I also don't get complaints about the princess. Although she is young and naive, she seems to have a good heart with how she treats FL and the other servants. I find her really nice and not annoying at all (she also seeems to be the comic relief of the show). wjy is the STAR so far..i'm obsessed with her real voice so her dubbing herself has been a treat. and her action scenes WOW, as expected from a former ballerina, she looks sooo cool and graceful. I already feel the chemistry although it's early days. Like someone said on the comments, there's a special kind of chemistry between GROWN people of the same age, you can definitely feel the difference
the styling is soo gorg. Besides the cast, the styling was the second thing that drew me to this drama since the pics from when they were shooting was released
